I've sort of wondered. Why "Littlefoot"? Sure the other's names aren't particularly creative but they Littlefoot's name always made me wonder. What about you?  :p

He was originally going to be called Thunderfoot, but a blue triceratops had that name. I guess littlefoot was made to be more suitable for children. I had thought that Thunderfoot would be something as in he is not scared of thunder. I wonder to like you, turtle

Maybe it was a polite way of saying he was a klutz as a youngster :p

Well in some of the early scripts they were calling on Littlefoot to be named "Thunderfoot" but copyright constraints made them decide to name him something else.

I guess Littlefoot was a simple change in their plans on account of him being little at time.

Go ahead and check out my fanfictions, The Seven Hunters, Songs of the Hunters, and Menders Tale.

Why not?
:)
I like this name.
It's the same like "why Ducky? Why Cera?"

Thunderfoot is cool good name too. :D

Also, I like "Ovie" MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH more than "Ruby" for some reason.

I always thought that Ruby is a cool name. Ovie sounds a bit too lazy for me.  :p Also, I prefer Littlefoot to Thunderfoot.

for me, "Ovie" it sounds more sweet, cute and fitting.

I think Littlefoot and Ducky names are epitome of cuteness, so I like them very much. Thunderfoot are more... mean. (Крожки-Ножки... YEs. Great!)
Cera and Petrie sound normal.
Spike and Bambo sound strong.
Chomper (Зубастик! ^^) sounds... cute and little weird at the same time. XD

I don't think there's a canon character named Bambo. Are you referring to Dalekdino's LBT fancharacter? He has a threehorn character named that.

That was Cera's name during the production of the first film.

ThunderFoot sounds like a Indian type name witch is fine if they allowed that

I see that others have covered the spiel about how they were going to call him Thunderfoot and then found out there was another dinosaur character with that name and then were like "Oh s***!! We need to think of a different name for him!!". I don't know why they picked Littlefoot, but I do like it. I think it just has a better ring to it than Thunderfoot.

I can't imagine Littlefoot being known by any other name; not even when he becomes a grown up.

Honestly, neither could I. I know that his feet definitely won't be little when he grows up, but I've known him as Littlefoot since I was a young child, so that's the name for him that's ingrained in me. Maybe that's part of why I think Littlefoot has such a better ring to it than Thunderfoot, although I think if it was reverse (i.e. they were going to call him Littlefoot but had to change it to Thunderfoot), I'd probably still say that Littlefoot is a better name for him.

Makes me wonder what our LBT experience would've been like if they stuck with the names Thunderfoot, Bambo, Ovie, etc.
