Countries:

Federal Republic of Beauta-
Beauta is a large, wild and rugged nation in the southern hemisphere.  It is a rugged nation with few large cities and mostly small towns.  Much of the country is covered in mountains and dense forests, although the northeastern region is covered in grassy coastal plains.  The country has a substantial military force and their marine corps is believed to be one of the best fighting forces in the world.  The capital is Arrow Point and the largest city is Southport.

Kingdom of Dagret-
Dagret is a small, narrow country running up the lower country west of Beauta.  The country is mostly covered in rolling hills and grassy plains, with dense forests in the south.  The capital and largest city is Nordia.  The country has a cold climate due to the air currents from the south seas.

Principality of Danthuania- Danthuania is the southernmost country on the Verusa continent.  The country is mostly covered in rolling plains though there are a few mountains and highlands in the south and west.  Danthuania has a cold climate because of its location.

Republic of Kolkove- Kolkove is a poor country north of Beauta and Dagret that was once part of Yuktobania.  During the 1950s, The state revolted against the Yuktobanian government and after a long, bloody conflict, eventually became an independent country.  The victory came at a high price as most of the cities were left in ruins following the war and Dagret has been in economic ruin since the 50s.
The capital and largest city is Illya.

Charvez Mazzol sat in his desk in his office, smoking a cigar and lookin over a tactical map.

The door opened and Mazzol's tactical adviser walked in.
"You summoned me, your highness?"

"Yes." said Mazzol as he place his cigar in an ashtray.  "Are our forces at the northern boarder?"

THe adviser responded, "Yes sir.  Our invasion force is prepared to breach the boarder.  However, Beautean and Dagreten Forces have been sent to secure the boarder."

Mazzol shook his head and replied, "It  does not matter.  They can not hold up against our numbers.  Send the order to our troops.  They are to launch the invasion at once."

"Right away sir!" said the adviser, soluting and walking away.

This was a day Mazzol had waited long for.  He had started out in the low ranks of Danthuania's infamous Mafia.  Over many years, he had worked his way up to becoming the Mafia's leader.  Seking power, he led an uprising against Danthuania's weak and unstable government, assassinating the country's leaders and proclaiming himself its ruler.  With most of the corrupt military as well as the entire Dantuhania crime syndicate backing him, Mazzol had become a potent force in the region.

Beauta and Dagret had stood in Mazzol's way ever before he had come to power.  He would ship illegal goods through those countries to his smuggling centers in Kolkove.  However, Beauta and Dagret began cracking down on Mazzol's criminal activities, even sinking a supply freighter belonging to his organization.  He had retaliated, of course, but clearly blowing up passenger planes and assassinating Beauta's Chief of Staff did not send a clear enough message.  They would soon learn that Charvez Mazzol was not a man to be messed with.  The Federal Republic of Beauta had responded to his activities by having his top general assassinated.  They bombed his drug labs and arrested his supply depots, costing him millions in losses.  They even made attemps on his own life.  Now, Mazzol would make them suffer.  He would take their land and crush anyone who stood in his way.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Private Rick Bales awoke from a light sleep to the sound of shouting outside his tent.  Suddenly a tank shell exploded nearby, showering the tent with debris.

Lieutenant Gale shouted from outside, "Private Bales, get your ass out here!!  Danthuanian forces are advancing across the border!"

"Yes sir!" shouted the Marine as he chambered a round in his M-16 and put on his gear.  Rick placed his helmet on his head and rushed outside just as another tank shell exploded.

Lieutenant Gale, his commandin officer, shouted, "Enemy tanks are advancing on our position fast.  I've called for air support but it will take some time to get here.  I sent Corporal Hickman to get the mortar launcher and take out those tanks.  You and Private Barrington need to cover him until air support gets here.  Try to buy us some time until air support arrives!"

"Yes sir!" Rick shouted as he ran off to find his friend, Barrington.

"I'm over here!" shouted Barrington from a foxhole.  He held his Ak-47 and his combat shotgun was strapped to is back.

Rick explained, "Gale says we need to find Hickman and provide him with cover.  He's gonna try and stop some of those tanks."

Barrington nodded and lowered his nightvision goggles over his eyes.  Rick did the same and they set off to find Hickman.  Tank shells suddenly began raining from the sky as enemy forces approached the boarder.  Rick and Barrington found Corporal Hickman loaging the mortar launcher behind a rock.

Rick looked out across the field and saw at least twenty tanks and hundreds of enemy soldiers crossing the field toward their position.

He shouted, "Corporal, we can't hold this position against them!"

Hickman responded as he aimed the mortar into the air, "We have to try at least!"

Hickman fired and the mortar whizzed through the air, exploding right next to the tank.  Although it wasn't a direct hit, the explosion blew the tread off and disabled the tank.  As soon as the mortar exploded, the enemy soldiers began to charge forward.

"Take that you Danthuanian bastards!" Barrington mutered as he watched the tank screech to a halt.

"Here they come!" shouted Barrington, raising his rifle.

The mortar shell exploded and sent shrapnel through the air, killing two of Darnel's men.  He looked ahead at the fortified position and shouted to his soldier, "There are not that many of them!  Keep moving forward!  When our helicopters get here, they will crush these scum!"

He chambered a round in his G3 rifle and charged forward alongside a moving tank, leading his men toward the boarder.  There were not as many Beautian soldiers defending the boarder as he had thought.  This was going to be a piece of cake.

Darnel shouted to his men, "
Charge!  Kill anyone who stands in our way!"

Barrington lined up an enemy soldier in his sights and squeezed the trigger, unleashing a volley of bullets from his Ak-47.  His aim was dead on and the enemy let out a cry and fell to the ground.

Rick held his breath as he drew a bead with his red dot sight on a Danthuanian soldier.  He had never actually taken a life before.  It wasn't until the enemy soldier took aim at him that Rick  pulled the trigger.  His M-16 fired a three shot burst and all three bullets hit their mark.

Corporal Hickman shouted, "Good aim!" as he launched another mortar.  This time, the mortar scored a direct hit on an enemy T-72 tank.

Rick heard the sound of helicopter rotors and looked off in the distance.  Two Ka-50 attack helicopters were rolling in on their position.

"Sir, enemy helicopters!" Rick shouted to the corporal.

Hickman nodded and said, "Time to fall back!  Head for the ditch!"

Rick, Barrington, and Hickman left the mortar and ran for a drainage ditch where they had more supplies stored.  Bullets whistled past them as they made a mad dash for cover.  Barrington pulled the pin out of one of his grenades and dropped it as they ran.  Seconds later, there was an explosion alaong with the screams of dying enemy soldiers.

The three marines rolled down the sides of the ditch where Lieutenant Gale was waiting for them.

Gale ordered, "Go get some RPGs form the supply crates and wait for those choppers to get in range!  I'm gonna check on that air support!"

As Rick and Barrington picked up the RPGs, they heard Gale shouting into his radio, "Dammit, command!  Where the hell is my air support?  We've already lost half our force!"

Rick said to Barrington, "Hell, this is bad!"

Barrington nodded and said, "Let's find a place to hide.

The sound of helicopter rotors could be heard directly overhead and one of the Ka-50s opened fire on a group of marines nearby, killing anyone who was not behind cover.

Rick took aim with the RPG and fired,  The rocket missed the body of the chopper but it struck the rotors, shattering them.  The chopper nosedived violently into the ground and exploded.

"Good shot!" shouted Barrington.

"Thanks, Private Barrington!" Rick replied.

"Call me sam!" Barrington said as he waited for the other chopper.

Lieutenant Gale said over the radio, "Marines, the air support isn't coming!  Command is sending choppers to evac us!  We are falling back into the woods until they get here!  Let's move out!"

"Keep moving!  Take no prisoners!" shouted Darnel to his men.
"President Mazzol wants to make his point clear!  All who resist our will will be exterminated!"
He fired at the marines with deadly accuracy.  As the enemy retreated into the forest, Darnel ordered, 'All tanks, hold your fire.  Let our chopper unit flush them out!"

The Ka-50 began to fire its guns and rockets indiscriminately into the trees.
Darnel ordered his men, "Leave no survivors!  I don't care if they're wounded or not!"

The brutality was necessary.  It would send fear through the nation's people and show what happens when you cross Charvez Mazzol.

Rick and Barrington made their way up the other side of the ditch through a hail of bullets where they joined Gale and Hickma.  As the Ka-50 made another pass, Gale shouted, "Everyone, get down!"

The marines leaped into a shallow depression in the ground and remained perfectly still as the helicopter's spotlight scanned the area.  They were hidden among the wall grass from its view.  However, just when it seemed safe, a grenade bounced into the foxhole and landed just behind Rick.

"Dammit!" he shouted as he tried to reach the grenade to throw it away.

Hickman said, "I've got it!"

He grabbed it and tossed it away moments before it exploded.  The explosion drew the attention of the helicopter however and the chopper began to fire upon the shrinking group of Marines.

Gale shouted, "Bales, take that bastard out!"

Rick nodded and took aim with his RPG.  He fired and the rocket hit its mark.  The rocket first blew the tail off the helicopter and then the chopper exploded just above the ground in a fiery blast that lit up the dark night.  The screams of the dying could be heard all around.  Rick had never felt such fear in his life.  As soon as Gale gave the order, he ran for the tree line.  Within seconds, they were in the trees, out of sight of the enemy.

Lieutenant Gale said, "Listen, helicopters are on the way to evac us.  THey should be here in just a few minutes.  We need to hold out until then.  Barrington, Bales, you two keep watch.  Hickman, you keep an eye on our left flank.

The three soldiers nodded and took up positions behind trees.

A voice on the radio said, "Marines, this is Mantis 2-2.  We will be arriving at your location shortly for evac.  Please mark your extraction point and stand by."

Gale said to the others, "I'll plant the beacon.  You stay put."

Barrington whispered to Rick, "Look.  I see enemy soldiers creeping through the trees."

He took the shotgun off his back and prepared to fire.  Rick shouldered his rifle and took out his M9.

When the enemy was close enough, Barrington stepped out and shouted, "Take this you Danny bastards!"

He fired a blast from his shotgun and killed an enemy soldier.  He plumped it and fired a second blast.  Rick stepped out and began firing at the shadowy figures among the trees.  He wasn't sure how many enemies he had killed.  The sound of rotors could be heard overhead and a spotlight lit up a clearing in the forest nearby.

Lieutenant Gale shouted, "Our chopper's here!  Let's get the hell out of here!"

A Ch-53 Sea Stallion helicopter slowly landed in a clearing where Gale had place the beacon and the pilot said on the radio, "Alright, get on board now!  We need to go!"

Two more helicopters landed nearby to pick up other survivors.

Rick, Barrington, and Hickman all ran for the chopper, along with the rest of the surviving marines.  Rick climbed in first, followed by Barrington and Gale.  As Hickman ran into the clearing, a bullet struck him in the leg and the marine fell to the ground with a cry of pain.

Enemy soldiers began closing in and Gale ordered, "Wait!  We're not leaving without the corporal!"

He leaped back out and Rock followed.  Rick ran for Hickman, firing his M9 at the enemy soldiers.  He heard a click as the pistol ran out of bullets.  THe marine holstered the pistol and removed his 357. Magnum revolver from his shoulder holster.  On final enemy soldier remained and seemed bent on killing Hickman.  Rick took aim and with a mighty bang, shot the Danthuanian soldier right between they eyes, sending him flying back in a mist of blood.

Rick reached Hickman and said, "Hold on, you're gonna be alright!"

Gale fired his assault rifle at the enemy to cover Rick as he dragged Hickman toward the chopper.  Barrington reached out and pulled Hickman into the chopper.  Bales and Gale climbed in and Gale shouted to the pilot, "We’re all onboard!  Go!  Go!"

The chopper lifted off the ground as bullets began pinging off the hull.  It climbed above the trees and began heading for the northeast, toward the city of Southport.

As Sergeant Hartly, the unit's medic, examined Hickman's wound, Gale explained to the others, "We're going to fortify Southport.  That is most likely the enemy's primary target.

"Great." Barrington said sarcastically.

--------------------------------------------------

It was just before dawn at San Monzez Air Force Base.  Joseph McDale was sitting on the sidelines watching his fellow pilots in the 27th tactical squadron play football.  The first rays of morning lit the sky to the east, however, it looked like a storm was rolling in from the west.  An A-6E on combat maneuvers flew low overhead, buzzing the base.

"Idiot."muttered Joe as he watched the plane circle around for a landing.

"All pilots, report to the briefing room at once!" shouted the voice on the loudspeaker.

"What the hell?" the pilot said to himself.  Already in his flight suit, he ran on foot to the briefing room where the other pilots were already waiting.  A man in full military attire stood on the stage at the front of the briefing room.  The electronic screen on the wall lit up and information began to appear.

The man at the front of the room said, "We have a situation on our hands!  About twenty minutes ago, a large formation of Danthuanian Tu-95 Bear bombers entered our airspace.  After anylizing all targets along their flight path, we concluded that their target is the town of St. Johnston.  St. Johnston, as you know, is where all our munition plants are located.  Most of our stockpiles are down there, along with a lot of civilians.  It the Dannies take out our factories, we will be at a serious disadvantage.  Your mission is to intercept and destroy the bombers at all costs!  Dismissed!"

(F-22, I think we're gonna need longer posts than that.)

Darnel continued onward with his soldiers, gunning down every enemy in his path.
"Keep fighting, men!  They have no place to go!" he shouted as he reloaded his rifle.  "Take no prisoners!"

There were not many enemies left now.  It wouldn't be long before they were all wiped out.  Just then, the sound of approaching helicopters could be heard and Darnel realized that the marines had called for evac.  He knew it was over now.  They were running scared.

As the choppers lifted off into the sky, Darnel shouted, "Victory is ours!  Charvez Mazzol will be pleased."

Joe made his way to the hangar where his F-8 crusader was waiting, already armed with air-to-air missiles.  He climbed into the cockpit and started the engine.  He loved the crusader for its toughness and handling.  Once the engine was up to speed. Joe taxied out onto the taxiway and said, "Alright, men.  Our mission is simple!  We ar going to splash a few bombers!  This should be a piece of cake!"

They were already cleared for takeoff so Joe just taxied to the runway and applied full throttle.

Frank pulled into formation and switched to his long range missles. "Ok where's that AWACS,' frank asked himself before doing a barrel roll. "ETA to enemy bombers 15 minutes,' frank thought to himself. "Why are the Danthuanians attacking now,' frank asked joe

A voice crackled over the radio, "This is AWACS, callsign Dragon Eye.  Guardian Squadron, enemy bombers will be over St. Jonhston  in fifteen minutes!  You must stop them at all costs!  Head south to the intercept point indicated on your map."

Joe replied, "Roger.  Alright men, there are escort fighters too.  Max, you come with me and we'll deal with the bombers.  The rest of you go have some fun with those Mig-21s."

The pilot called Max replied, "Roger.  My callsign is Shock, by the way."

Joe answered, "Alright, Shock.  Stay focused.  Say Barnes, what is your callsign again?  I didn't catch it earlier."

Vincent Doyle was sitting in his small office, drinking his morning coffee. He enjoyed the peacefulness of a new day, when the phone on his desk rang out. Doyle picked it up:

"Vincent Doyle, 7th Tank Company."

"Captain, it is major Thomas Ferguson from HQ. We have a situation on our southern border. Dathuanian army has just invaded us" the man on other side spoke so calmly, like he was telling Doyle that tomorrow will be a rainy day.

"How bad it is?" asked Vincent.

"The enemy defeated our border's defense forces and now he is heading to Southport. The orders for your company are: move to the city and join with other troops, who are preparing defences. How much time do you think it will take your company to get there?"

Doyle thought for a moment. He had 15 M1 Abrams tanks under his command, but half of them needed to refuel and rearm. That itself would take at least half of hour and there was a 130 miles to travel...

"We will be at Soutport in three to four hours." he answered.

"Good. After arrival, you will be met by commander of city forces. Goodbye, captain."

"Wait! Who is this commander?" Doyle asked but it was already too late. He cursed, before he put down a phone. Then he drank the rest of coffee and stood up. It seemed that a day wont be so peaceful after all...

"We're deaing with a bunch of corrupt warlords and overconfident mafia punks.  Let's show these scum what a real military force can do!  Guardian Squadron, you are cleared to engage at will!"

Joe dove down and drew a bead on the rear bomber in the formation.  He squeezed the trigger and his crusader's four machine guns lit up, tearing into the bomber.  Moments later the entire bomber exploded in a massive ball of fire.

"Dragon Eye, splash one enemy bomber!" he shouted as he lined up another bomber in his sights.  THe rear gunner fired at his plane and the fighter shuddered as it took two bullet hits.  Joe fired his machine guns and shredded the tail of the bomber, sending it in flames toward the earth below.

"This is Dragon Eye!  Enemy fighters are closing on your position fast!  Heads up!"

Gustav Gavak watched as bomber after bomber vanished from his rader.  From the cockpit of his Mig-29 fulcrum, he could see the Beauta Air Force making short work of the bomber force.

"This is Gallia 1, prepare to engage the enemy!  We must stop them from destroying our bombers!"

Another pilot replied, "Gallia 2 here, roger that!  We'll make them pay!"

Gavak selected a target, an F-8 crusader, and as soon as he was locked, he fired the missile.

Joe's missile alarm screamed in is ear and he quickly pressed the countermeaure buttone, releasing several flairs.  He rolled his fighter into a interted position and dove downward, toward another bomber.  As the missile alarm stopped, he lined upanother bomber and fired one of his SAAMs.  Then his missile alarm went off again.

"Max, Barnes, take care of those fighters!  I'll handle the bombers!"

Gavak cursed as the missile destroyed one of his wingmen and he ordered Gallia 2, "Take out the lead plane.  I'll handle the wingmen!"

He got a lock on the F-15 and fired.

Darnel surveyed the landscape through his binoculars and said to one of his officers, "Get everyone together.  We are moving out.  The main force has been ordered to advance on Southport but our unit is to push deper into Beauta.  The town of Haval will be the first stop along our route."

The officer nodded and Darnel climbed onto the top of the lead tank and shouted to his soldiers, "Our allies have already reached the town of Haval but they have been met with heavy resistance!  We're breaking off from the main force to provide support!  Let's move out!"
