Just a poll on your favorite (or non-favorite) Sharptooth in the LBT Series
-
My favorite's definitely the original.
-
Chomper of course! He's the only nice one. :P:
-
Chomper, of course! He's nice with the leaf-eaters.
-
I also like Chomper. He's cute. I just prefer the original sharptooth because he was the scariest, motivated by vengeance rather than just hunger.
Chomper reminds me of this lioness from the program Heart of a Lioness.
-
EDIT: Whoops, doublepost.
-
The Liopleurodon. As menacing and threatening as the original sharptooth, even though he was featured in a sequel. That little accomplishment puts him on top.
-
I don't know... you've got to like Chomper because he's so 'nice', but the original sharptooth in LBT 1 was a whole lot more 'authentic', so I don't know.... Do I go with the rosey or the authentic...?
As a whole, though, I would have to say Chomper.
-
I think the original is the best
-
Mine's the Liopleurodon. :D
-
It doesn't make too much sense to ask for the favorite of a species including characters so totally differently presented as Chomper or the original movies Sharptooth. People would favor Chomper for very different reasons than they might favor the original or one of the other sharpteeth who are presented as mostly anonymous villains by natures design. If it comes to impressive, intimidating "villains" the original sharptooth would probably be number 1, with LBT 9's Liopleurodon in hot pursuit. Chomper's parents, the LBT 5 sharptooth (I think that one was supposed to be a Giganotosaurus rather than an Allosaurus), the LBT 6 sharpteeth (there we got an Allosaur) and the raptors too could qualify as somewhat impressive, but all of them were subjected to slapstick (so was the LBT 9 sharptooth, but he retained more of his "dignity" through it). The sharpteeth of LBT 10, 8, 11, and 12 were almost offensively harmless dinosaur kid toys.

Why not?
-
I voted for the wrong one, but the one I want to vote for (the golden-brown Allosaurus from LBT 6) isn't on the list.
-
Why not?
Who is your favorite Chinese in the world and who is your favorite American? Who is your favorite black person and who is your favorite Muslim or Jew?
Races, Nationalities, Skincolors, Religions all these consider a HUGE variety of totally different people not linked in any way to each other but by those superficial characteristics most of which are of no significance to the nature of the person in question. I do admit that in case of sharpteeth the problem is not as strong as most of those we see in LBT follow a certain basic pattern.
But Chomper is very different. Those who label Chomper their favorite sharptooth do so because he is so very nice, those who label the original movies or any other sharptooth as such probably do so because they are so scary or impressive. What are we really asking for when asking for the "favorite" sharptooth?

I'm sorry, but I still don't understand what you mean or where you are getting at.
-
Here's a clear, logical way to answer the question: If you could have your choice to meet any of the above sharptooths, which would it be? Hmm? *runs off to vote for Chomper*

It would depend on what kind of weapon I had with me.

I think the Allosaurus in LBT 6 was up to that level as well. Falling down a cliff didn't kill it. Gotta give it a pat on the back for that.
-
I gotta say I'm kinda conflicted, I like Chomper simply becuase he;s nice, but I have to admit, the original sharptooth was quite possibliy the best simply becuase he was a really hardcore character even for a kids movie...so you can see my problem...

I did consider that one, but it kinda gets brought down by the part where it got stuck in a tree while chasing a pair of toddlers.

I was just asking which Sharptooth was the more awesome and all that. :p
-

Hey, at least he was acting like a real predator, sneaking up on his prey, then trying to ambush them. I haven't seen the movie in a while, but I don't think it noticed the trees because its head was so low to the ground. It was completely focused on the twins...plus the two tree only stopped it momentarily.

The sharptooth in the fifth movie was actually a Giganotosaurus. I just found that out on the WikiPedia article for it. Here is the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Land_Befo...sterious_Island (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Land_Before_Time_V:_The_Mysterious_Island)
-
I agree that the Sharptooth of LBT 5 was probably a Giganotosaurus (there was a long discussion in the N54 land before time forum on the species of that sharptooth). In general however Wikipedia is rarely an accurate source if it comes to LBT movies. Many rumors bare of any facts were started by people posting whatever came to their mind at wikipedia and other people taking serious whatever was posted there.
I was just asking which Sharptooth was the more awesome and all that.
I can't really say that this clarifies the question. People may consider Chomper awesome for being nice and cute and people may consider one of the "evil" (very unfitting term) sharpteeth awesome for being more impressive, powerful, intimidating... you name it.

Oh, OK. :slap
God, I feel dumb. I guess I need to study my dinos more.
-
How can people not love chomper! :wow It is impossible!
-
Of the choices I chose Chomper. Some of the others I do not know which ones they are, I guess since I"m no paleontologist so do not instinctively know species names. Chomper does get some good reaction lines in certain scenes.
-
Chomper :P:
-
the magical leoplorodon :lol j/k
I chose Chomper =3
-
Of course Chomper. I find the sharptooth in the first movie to be the scariest.
-
Hello:
The first Sharptooth was the best, quick, lethal and returned from a near-death experience ;) .
Chomper is a favourite of many, and since he may become as deadly as the first Sharptooth, wow, that is scary (except for Littlefoot and the rest :^.^: ).
-
I can't vote because I like Chomper just as a character.
I absolutely loved The Sharptooth (original LBT) because he was the most hardcore of the sharpteeth and the fact that he was almost invincible.
-
I still stick with Chomper as my main first favorite. For the second Chomper's parents, who get a few funny lines in I think the fifth movie. "Sometimes I worry about that boy." "Nothing that smells like that can be good to eat."
Third would likely be the Sharptooth in the first movie.
-
Already said it, will say it again. Chomper.
I mean, he was adorable as a hatchling, he sang in one of my most favorite of songs, and he's Tyrannosaur and I love Rexes!
-
Definitely the original. That guy just wouldn't quit. Chomper would be my 2nd pick, only because when I read the title of this forum, I didn't even think of Chomper (he's never really qualified as a bona fide sharptooth in my opinion).
-
As much as i like the sharpteeth in the whole land before time i pick Chomper to be my favorite sharptooh because he is cute and nice and one of the main sharpteeh but i still like the others as well and the bad sharpteeth make the movies and show exciting. :yes
-
I guess in most polls it'll be the original sharptooth and Chomper being the 2 highest.
-
hmmm, i like all of them
-
My real favorite is the Horned Sharptooth (Carnotaurus) in The Land Before Time XIV: The Journey of the Brave. But by default it is Chomper. I use to like the Original Sharptooth, but he kinda creeps me out now.
-

...
why?

Yeah chomper has grew on me but I guess I'll go with the original one.

Chomper differs considerably in each installment. In LBT II he says very little and is funny, in LBT V he talks a lot and has a different personality than in LBT Series and LBT XIV: Journey of the Brave. So I can see why he's had to grow on you, there hasn't been a lot of consistency until recently regarding his character, the same goes for Topsy/Mr. Threehorn.
-
I'm not a fan of topsy since he is just a brainless idiot who doesn't think and just shoots out racist nonsense that's what I don't like about him.

I think it would have helped to have Topsy have some backstory where he saw Cera's mother die, and become bitter because no other Leaf Eaters helped.
-
Yeah that would of helped fans understand why topsy turned out that way. But true maybe the other species didn't do anything to help like you said so he turned into a bitter character.

And the Land Before Time II when we first meet chomper at first I thought he would be annoying but his personality I kinda liked.

I like Carnotaurus, probably because of Disney's Dinosaur. I found the Horned Sharptooth to be quite threatening in Journey of the Brave, but they didn't utilize him nearly enough.
-
Witch Dinosaur movie Disney made a couple of them

So, you like character more because of his physical external appearance? :)
I like Original Sharptooth and Chomper because of their inner characters and their HUGE atmospheric influence on me and other LBT characters.
Sadly, almost all other sharpteeth are nothing but empty dummies without any role, influence or threat. :'( Poor sharpteeth...
-
Yeah the only t-Rex that deserves recognition is the first one in movie one since he was awesome and kinda scary.
-

I liked the Carnotaurus because in my humble opinion he had some characteristics of the Original Sharptooth, intimidation and a look that was sinister and even supernatural. It felt more terrified for Gang of Five when this Horned Sharptooth was after them than Feathered Headed Sharpteeth and all previous Sharpteeth save for the original.
To ADfan185, the Disney's Dinosaur:

That one was eh to okay I am glad I saw it tho. It didn't Leave any impact on me that's all. What did you think of the movie.

I actually started a thread that shows major similarities of the Original Sharptooth to Horned Sharptooth. Check it out.
