I've recently found out about this new series on the History Channel. It's a spin-off of the two-hour program that was first shown just over a year ago. Basically, it's about what would happen to everything left behind if every human on the planet were to suddenly disappear. Things like how structures and cities would disappear and how other life forms would thrive in a world after humans.

This page describes the two-hour program:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_After_People
The official website has been changed for the up-coming series:http://www.history.com/minisites/life_after_people/

Anybody interested in watching this?

I am. Just because it's always fun to listen to speculation and different takes on the matter :)

No, but you just raised my interest on it. My love for catastrophism is telling me to watch this.

Unfortunatey, it will only be possible through some place in the internet.

I've seen it before, it's probably the only show on History Channel that fascinates me.  :anger

That is an interesting topic.  I remember reading an article about it a year or so ago maybe it was, in popular science, then science friday talked about it.

Really? Cause it dosen't premiere until tuesday  :p

I've heard of the show and I might watch it, but I've already read The World Without Us by Alan Weisman which started the whole "whats the world going to be like after we leave?" craze so its kinda like been there, done that for me.

I think he might be referring to the two-hour program that premiered, I think, in January 2008. The series (one-hour episodes) is what premieres on Tuesday.

For those of you who don't get the History channel, I actually think you don't need to worry about missing this. I've done a Google search for "life after people" and right on the first page was a link to a video of the full two-hour program. I'm not sure if the same will be done for the up-coming series, so we'll just have to wait and see.

If you're interested in finding out what was featured in that episode, go to the official website (the second link in the first post of this topic), go to 'episode guides', select the episode you missed, and go to 'photo gallery' to see the recap and photos from that episode.

I recently found out that there will be a second season for this series. The first episode will premier on Tuesday, January 5.

Also, if you wanted to see any of the episodes from the first season, I recently checked the schedule and all ten episodes from the first season will be shown on Sunday, January 3.

Hope you get to see that and have fun doing so.  Could give some good ideas for post holocaust and what some areas should look like.
