Hey rhombus, thanks again for all your help. I just uploaded the chapter and left a shoutout to you as thanks in the description.http://animeboye.deviantart.com/art/Final-...s=1&ga_recent=1

Alright then. It's making a lot more sense now. Thanks again rhombus. My last question since it pertains to temporary guardianship: since the kid in this circumstance is also suffering from amnesia and doesn't have any kind of identification on him (there is an actual reason for this but like I said, it would spoil the boy's real identity), would Titus (the main character) and his family still be able to look after him for the time being, at least until the boy's memory came back? Would they have to give him a name to call him by in the meantime (this does happen regardless but I just wanted to know if he'd have to put that name on some kind of document)?

Wow, that's actually far more complicated than I was expecting. Still, I'm glad you were able to help me. Thanks rhombus. Although if I might correct your friend, it wasn't the doctor who was going to look after him. It was the main character of the series and his family. The main protagonist and the doctor are two different people. So with that in mind, I wonder if that might end up changing anything. Would he still be able to take care of the kid until they found his parents (quick spoiler, they won't but I don't want to go into any further spoilers) or would that not be possible since the only relation the protagonist and his friends and family have to the boy is that the main character's sons and their friends found him badly beaten?

Hey guys, it's been awhile. I don't normally post as much on here these days but I still plan to come by from time to time. Anyway, as the title of this topic states, I was hoping I could get the expertise of anybody here who might have worked in hospitals or know somebody who does. Currently I'm writing another chapter of my Dragon's World series (on the last book actually) and in my story, the main characters find a boy who's been badly beaten to the point that he's left comatose. Now the boy wakes up a few weeks later however he can't remember anything about himself, his attackers, etc. when he was brought in, he didn't have any form of identification on him so they can't determine his real identity. I won't get too deep into the details because it would take too long to explain and I don't want to spoil anything. Anyway, these are my questions:

1. When a coma patient does wake up, what do doctors usually do following? What tests for instance do they normally perform to see how the patient is?

2. In the case of an amnesiac, theoretically, if the person in question was brought in without any form of identification on them (say in the situation of the boy in my book), what would happen to the person then? If they weren't able to find anyone who knew the person,  what would they do with them? See, my plan was for when the kid is released, the main protagonist of the series asks the doctor if he and his family would be able to look after the kid until they find his real parents. Would hospitals be allowed to do this? The protagonist's son (and adopted son) along with their friends were the ones who found the boy and had him sent to the hospital so would this influence a doctor's decision on that, possibly show the doctor that the patient, once discharged, will be in good hands? And if not, what would you suggest I do instead?

Thanks in advance to anybody who might answer. I've tried looking online but I wasn't able to find anything relating to what I asked.

I actually watched the season finale a few weeks ago when it got leaked and it was really good. I certainly wasn't expecting it to end the way it did but it was a really nice ending. All the former villains (plus Thorax since he was never really a villain) all played off each other very well. I won't say anymore because I don't want to spoil it. It was really that good.

It feels a little strange to be in another hiatus but that might also be since quite a bit of this season got leaked early so for me, technically the hiatus started a couple weeks ago. Either way, this season had a lot of week parts to it but there were also some pretty fun ones. I especially liked the introductions of Tender Taps and Thorax. I really enjoyed these characters and I hope we get to see more of them come next season. I do think it was too bad that Babs Seed didn't show up though. I was hoping that maybe she and the CMC would meet up and maybe try to help some ponies get their Cutie Marks around Manehattan. Oh, well. Maybe next season hopefully.

So I'm pretty late on this but yesterday, MLP turned six years old. Six years of pone with hopefully six (at least) more to go. Well we probably won't get six more years but hey it's a nice thought at least.

Anyway, happy sixth birthday to our cute little pone show.

Well I've finally managed to watch the latest episodes so with the exception of episode 20, I'm pretty much caught up with this season. I tried watching the episode on Dailymotion but then an ad popped up, got blocked, and messed up the video so it wasn't showing anything. I wonder if episode 20 might be on Google Video 'cause I don't think Dailymotion's going to work for me and Youtube only has clips from the episode.

Also, the latest episodes were pretty good. Wondering how the new Equestria Girls is going to be.

So is there anywhere I can watch this episode? I've looked on Youtube several times and there aren't any uploads of the episode that aren't just some stupid reaction video. If somebody could provide a link, that would be greatly appreciated.

Spoilers for the season six finale have been revealedhttp://www.equestriadaily.com/2016/09/my-l...e-and.html#more

Oldest and greatest foes returning. Hmm. I wonder if it's Chrysalis. It would make sense since we were introduced to Thorax. Maybe he'll provide some kind of help in defeating her.

Also, since I didn't give my thoughts on the last two episodes. They were pretty good. The Discord one reminded me a lot of that Spongebob episode where Mr. Krabs joins Spongebob and Patrick for some guys night out stuff but it turns out the things they like to do are really lame. I was just waiting for Spike and/or Big mac to ask, "Are you feeling it now, Mr. Discord?"

The last one was alright. It was neat seeing another sports related episode and finding out that Pinkie and Fluttershy were actually really good at buckball was pretty cool. Too bad Rarity and Twilight weren't with them. I just thought it was strange (although understandable) that the rest of the Mane Six were in this episode aside from them. Maybe Twi and Rarity had to solve a friendship problem then.

I think this might be the first episode of the season that I thought was actually really good. I liked how after six seasons, Spike was finally able to get his own song and it was a pretty touching one too. Thorax was a great character and I hope he appears in future episodes.

Also, I have to give this episode credit for giving depth to the Changelings and showing that they're not all bad. It's always nice when a series adds a grey area to its characters or races. Perhaps the Changeling at Cranky and Matilda's wedding was Thorax or maybe a Changeling like him who doesn't like violence or robbing ponies of their love.

I think it'd be interesting if there were future episodes that introduced other Changelings like Thorax who wanted to be good and befriend ponies.

So why didn't anybody tell me there was a part two to Mare Do Well?

That's seriously what this episode was just Mare Do Well part 2. Rainbow Dash acts like a jerk, her friends as well as the whole town get sick of it, then her friends (the town too in this case) set up a plan to get back at RD and make her learn a lesson. Only this time, it was actually somewhat justified (although Rainbow Dash had to be out of character for it to be but I digress).

Some of the pranks were pretty mean. The Cranky one was pretty cruel, sort of the same for the one Dash pulled on Spike (although it was kind of funny). The one she pulled on Rarity was pretty clever and I didn't see it going the way it did and I have to admit, I did bust out laughing at Twilight sitting on a whoopie cushion. The zombie ponies were a cool idea but I didn't find it scary since it was pretty obvious it was all an act.

Well it was better than the previous episode but it still could have been better.

Well I just finished The Cart Before the Ponies and it was a really meh episode. That's really all I have to say about it other than how annoying Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Rarity were acting. Well, here's hoping 28 Pranks Later is better.

Stranger Than Fanfiction the episode says? Well fanfiction's already plenty strange so how much stranger could we possibly get?

This was a pretty hilarious episode. I can't believe they actually showed body pillows of all things. Quibble was pretty annoying at times though and just looked like a rule 63 Daring Do (who looks like a Rainbow Dash recolor. What a paradox).

I did find it especially strange that Quibble was complaining about how unrealistic the Daring Do books were when they live in a world with dragons, a bug queen who feasts on love to survive, a dragon/pony/deer hybrid who loves pranks, two princesses who raise the sun and the moon, and where the ponies manually change the seasons. Compared to their world, I'd assume Daring Do's pretty realistic. Besides, the three main pony races are capable of pretty much anything so how are Daring's adventures supposedly that far outside the realm of plausibility?

Poor guy. That is a truly terrible way to go out.

Second what F-14 Ace said. This year has just been a mess when it comes to celebrity deaths.

This was a pretty enjoyable episode. The way the story was told was unique for MLP and it had some legitimately funny moments. I liked the idea of turning the boutique into a boutique/dance club. That was a pretty creative and clever idea. Also, the Pinkie clone being seen at the restaurant. I wonder if they'll follow up on that.

There aren't really many movies I can think of that really gave me nightmares. The only movie I can think of that I've had dreams relating to are the Human Centipede movies. Weird since I don't really find them that scary(although I do find the idea a little unsettling so that could be why). Other than that, I can't think of any movies that have scared me that badly.

I was wondering why they didn't include Jacob Marley. Makes sense now.

The episode itself was alright. Song heavy but one of the better episodes of this season. I just find it strange that they'd do a Christmas special in the end of Spring/beginning of Summer. I did love how it was a retelling of A Christmas Carol but with ponies (although I am disappointed they didn't have Pipsqueak be Tiny Tim).

So Rainbow Dash finally achieves her dream of becoming a Wonderbolt...what could possibly go wrong?

All joking aside, I'm really starting to wonder what Dash even sees in the Wonderbolts at this point. Aside from Soarin', the Wonderbolts have been terrible to RD. Spitfire and I believe it was Fleetfoot try to get Rainbow Dash to abandon Bulk Biceps and Fluttershy to fly with them, they lie to Soarin' when he gets injured because they think Rainbow Dash would be a better flyer, they don't even visit him when he's recuperating, and in this episode, they give her crap because of one little mistake. Oh, but it's okay because they all have embarrassing nicknames. Geez, I sure hope one of the Wonderbolts didn't break a limb on their first day. They'd probably be called Snappy.

Like others have said, Rainbow Dash acting like her friends was really cringey. It added nothing and was just filler. Painful, irritating filler. The sad thing is, this could have been pretty funny but here, the idea of Rainbow Dash acting like say Fluttershy or Applejack just falls flat on its face.

I liked the Wonderbolts of seasons one and two better. They seemed to be much more likable back then. Spitfire seemed more easygoing and friendly instead of the new uptight, manipulative, nasty Spitfire we've got now. Back then Spitfire actually gave RD and the other Wonderbolts respect. Not to mention, I liked her season one voice a lot better than her current one.

To finish, I really wish the writers would give us a reason to like the Wonderbolts (with the exception of Soarin') again because they have just been made into really awful ponies these past few seasons. With everything RD has done for them (including saving their home numerous times), you'd think she'd get a little more respect from them. Man, if I met the people I looked up to growing up and they treated me like that, I'd probably be devastated.

In all honesty, I think this whole season in general just hasn't been very good so far. Don't get me wrong, the episodes aren't terrible or anything, they're just nothing very noteworthy either. I'm not sure if I'm just becoming jaded with MLP or what but I haven't enjoyed these episodes as much as I've enjoyed past ones.

One problem I had was actually with one of the earlier episodes of this season. The one with Maud Pie. I don't dislike Maud but I do think she's a pretty one dimensional character. So much so that it almost feels intentional. Her obsession with rocks was cute and even kind of funny at first but now it's just tiring because that's really all there is to her. Rocks. Every sentence that comes out of her mouth has something to do with rocks and it's just really not that funny anymore. I've noticed the same thing with Twilight being so obsessive compulsive about making sure everything is just so. It used to be a cute quirk of hers that gave her more character but now it's starting to feel like that is her character. We see this in the season six opener and we even saw a little of it in the latest episode.

Characters like Pinkie and Spike also fell into this trap albeit a bit sooner than a character like Twilight did. Pinkie used to be the lighthearted jokester who wanted to make others laugh and be as great a friend as she could be. In the first season, we see that even though Pinkie loves pranks, she still knows when a prank goes too far such as when she decides not to prank Fluttershy because she thought it might hurt her. That really showed depth on Pinkie's part and made her that much more likable.

Then three seasons later, we have Pinkie just completely unaware of Fluttershy's feelings in Fili Vanilli. She scares Fluttershy so much with her insane what if scenarios that she, on numerous occasions, drives the poor pony to tears. And THIS is the same pony who didn't want to pull a prank on her friend because she was afraid it would hurt her feelings?

Spike, while I don't think he's necessarily been flanderized, I still think he's been getting worse treatment over the course of the show. In the beginning he was pretty much the little brother of the Mane Six. He could be a brat, laughing at their misfortunes (i.e after the poison joke messes with them) but he still clearly cared about them and they still clearly cared about him. By season four, it seemed like he had become the punching bag of the series. Most of the jokes that involved Spike were usually done at his expense.

But my biggest issue with MLP right now is that when it comes down to it, MLP just doesn't take any risks. I'm not saying it should be like Animaniacs and include more subtle adult humor or be like say, Batman the Animated Series and have dark, depressing storylines but just something a bit different. Lauren Faust once said that she originally wanted the characters to have more adventures so why not do something like that? Have them go on adventures, have them fight villains more often than just at the beginning and/or end of the season, have them go to other parts of Equestria(they've started doing this a little more which I think is pretty cool). I don't think slice-of-life stuff is bad, per se but I liken it to cake. It can be good and anyone can enjoy it but it's not something you should always have. It's good as a once in a while thing.

And maybe have an episode where not everything is wrapped up neatly with a pretty little bow on top. One thing I loved about the Reflections Arc in the comics was that not everything worked out perfectly in the end. A sacrifice had to made and there was no deus-ex-machina to reverse it. The arc had plenty of plot holes (one of which relates to the previously mentioned sacrifice) but I still enjoyed it. I won't spoil anymore but I thought it was a good read. Not outstanding, but good.

Anyway, point being, the series did use to do this with the ponies entering a competition and not always winning in the end (although that's changed too) but why not do that with more scenarios? Maybe have a friendship problem that starts to be resolved but isn't fully resolved at the end of the episode? That would be a great lesson for kids too that sometimes problems aren't solved right away and it can be a gradual process.

Even with all that said though, I do still enjoy this show and I do still love these characters. I just want to see more done with MLP. The series still has so much potential left in it and I just want to see that potential utilized.

So season three, Trixie seems to be reformed and seems to genuinely regret the way she treated the Mane Six and the rest of Ponyville. Three seasons later and she's (seemingly) back to being a villain. Did they just get a Brony to write this because this upcoming episode looks like a bad fanfic that somehow got made into an actual episode.
