I ended up getting those Bill Engvall weird thoughts, and came up with a general idea, with two settings to go by.

The year is 2030 AD.  The world as we know entered a post-apocalyptic age as some of the greatest powers collapsed, triggering countless civil wars across the globe.  Within this dark age are those that refuse to die out, and fight for survival, power, and destruction...

But which path will be taken?  War on the seas, or on land?

For the war on land, the title would be Scorched Earth, and take place in North America.  Like Serris' Darwin's Soldiers, it'll have both furry and human characters, and there will be factions, some that work together and others do not:

Refugees - Villagers and nomads.  Limited technology & training.

Mercenaries - Soldiers of fortune.  Training similar to solders, but less advanced technology.

Soldiers - Warriors serving still-surviving governments.  Advanced technology & training.

Raiders - Semi-nomadic bandits.  Limited technology & training.

Warlords - Organized military powers.  Less advanced training & technology.

Merchants - High-class dealers of goods & arms.  Can employ own army with advanced technology

Terrorists - Fanatic cults.  Technology & training similar to raiders or warlords.

Rules:
Mercenaries can work with refugees, merchants, & soldiers, but not with raiders & terrorists.
Soldiers can work with refugees, but not with raiders, terrorists, warlords, & merchants.
Raiders can work with warlords.
Warlords & merchants can work together.
Terrorists can deal with warlords & merchants.

Technology only as far as near future, such as new technology just being developed today.
PG-13 only.  Romance, violence, & language included.
No sci-fi or fantasy unless approved.  (would have to be really good)

Noted groups:
Well Town - Small nomadic town of 15 families, protected by a militia headed by a handful of M4 Sherman tanks.

Gun Hawks - American mercenary team with primarily M60 Patton tanks.

Santa Fe Raiders - Bandit gang of New Mexico.

Triad - Chinese crime organization turned warlords in California.

The Red Merchant - Faceless arms dealer in Florida.

Royal Expeditionary Force - Survivors of a decimated British regiment sent to assist fallen US government.

I'll have Blood Seas ready soon.

Sounds good. Will it be more about playing individual characters or commanding whole factions?

It can be both, if you want to play a lone character.  Your char's lifestyle would normally be like one of the factions.  For example, Mad Max from the  movies would've started out like a soldier or a refugee, because he is a local law enforcement officer, then lived a life more like a mercenary, and the movies would've had him fighting against raiders (Road Warrior) and warlords (Beyond the Thunderdome).

Blood Seas would resemble more like Waterworld, with significant differences.

For Blood Sea, the setting is the whole Pacific Ocean, and can include islands and harbors on the coastline of any country.  Again, this will have factions:

Sea folk - Similar to refugees in Scorched Earth, but with mostly hand-built barges or modified civilian boats.

Mercenaries - Similar to those of Scorched Earth, but can pilot ships up to no bigger than a destroyer.

Sailors - Just like soldiers, and can sail any vessel.

Pirates - Like raiders and warlords

Merchants - Same as Scorched Earth, and can be at land or sea.

Rules apply the same way as Scorched Earth.  No noted groups as of yet.

Will we use Google Maps (or something like that) to point to places of action, since we will be playing in, geographically speaking, real world?

How should we make our characters/factions?

We could do that with maps, though we will be tweaking some of the climate in some of the areas for the post-apocalyptic feel.

Here's what profiles should look like:

Name:  Including nicknames & aliases
Species:  Human or furry (anthro or feral)
Gender:
Faction:  Category your char is
Occupation:  Actual job, including groups if you're part of it
Weapons/Equipment:  Including armor & heirlooms
Transport:  Any brand, from civilian to military.  Describe modifications & armament if any.
Description:  General description.  Clothing can be included.
Personality:  Quirks and faults
Brief History:  One paragraph long.

If you're making a group, here's how it goes:

Group:  Team name
Faction:
Origin:
Numbers:  Optional
Equipment:  Anything general used by group, including weapons & vehicles.  Optional.
Brief History:  One paragraph long.

So I'm taking the setting is on land?  I guess I'll go ahead and start off with some factions:

Group: Gun Hawks
Faction:  Mercenaries

Group:  Well Town Village Guard

Origin:  United States
Numbers:  15 families
Equipment:  4x M4 Sherman tanks, miscellaneous civilian vehicles, sporting or vintage weapons
Brief History:  Well Town was once a nomadic group until they discovered a spring along the Arizona/New Mexico border.  They remain under threat from raiders and larger refugee towns, until such threats were slowly and mysteriously being destroyed by a new threat...

Group:  The Black Moon Army
Faction:  Terrorists
Origin:  Iran
Numbers:  Unknown, all combatants
Equipment:  Iranian & Soviet-made vehicles & weapons, including light tanks
Brief History:  Since the destruction of Iran in a nuclear holocaust caused by the destruction of their nuclear factories by a powerful earthquake, the survivors sneaked into the US to join with their terrorist cells & black ops to carve out a new Iran from what they called "territory conquered from the enemy".  Since then, they seek out recruits and slaves from the refugees to take control of the region.

Group:  Triad
Faction:  Warlords/Merchants
Origin:  China
Numbers:  Unknown
Equipment:  Chinese-made weapons & vehicles, including light tanks
Brief History:  When China split into several warring kingdoms, the former ruling government appoints their former adversary, the Triad criminal organization, to reinforce itself back to a global power, even meaning conquering foreign land to bolster their resources.  The Triad set out and dominated San Diego & San Francisco, naming themselves warlords of New China, and since then been gathering supplies and weapons to China.  But with their new found power, they've been taking their time doing so.

Group:  Royal Expeditionary Force
Faction:  Soldiers
Origin:  United Kingdom
Numbers:  British platoon-size
Equipment:  7x Challenger main battle tanks, British & American-made weapons
Brief History:  Following the invasion of the US by Mexico, England sent a fleet of Royal Marines across the ocean.  But when a super storm struck the fleet, only one ship made it to Massachusetts before being permanently grounded.  Now the survivors attempt to seek out the American government, who fled the capital into hiding.

Group: Boston Guardians
Faction: Soldiers
Origin: United States
Numbers: About 120
Equipment: 1x M60A3 Patton tank, 8x Hummvees, few military trucks, mainly American weapons
Brief History: Boston Guardians are the remnants of US military force in Boston. After several warlords had taken control of the city, Boston Guardians had no choice but to pull out of it. After that they try to connect with any representative of government or other military unit in area.

Name: Ronald Emmerson
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Faction: Soldiers - Boston Guardians
Occupation: Group leader
Weapons/Equipment: M4 carbine, Combat knife, Beretta 92
Transport: Hummvee
Description: Tall, bearded, black hair. He wears tattered uniform of member of the National Guard.
Personality: Calm, cool-headed - these are the best words to describe him. He doesn't break under pressure.
Brief History: Ronald was born and raised by his parents in Boston. At the age of 18 he joined the National Guard and thanks to his calm demeanour and good thinking he had been promoted to the rank of captain. After the Fall, unit commanded by him and several others attempted to establish order in Boston, but they were eventually either destroyed or forced to withdraw by armed warlords. Emmerson led his unit out of the hot zone, escorting some civilians and collecting whatever resources they could find.

I might make other characters and/or factions later. Will any of you lead troops of Royal Expeditionary Forces? If so, then maybe they and Guardians could join forces. ;)

Yeah, my team could fight with some warlord and then your team could have its Big Damn Heroes moment. Since you have more tanks than me, you have to be The Cavalry. ;)

Sorry if I used too many tvtropes in just two short sentences. :p

And my BG will start somewhere west of Boston. By the way... When will we begin the game? Are we waiting for more players to join?

Okie.  Had an idea for a unique vehicle for Emile and Lena.  Here goes.

Vehicle: Kibagami
Type: Extensively-modified motorcycle
Description:  Original Motorcycle chassis used is unknown. Emile and Lena modified whatever it was to sport an elongated chassis, with two seats, each capable of controlling the cycle.  Mounted at the rear seat are a pair of M60 LMG's, controlled by a pair of triggers on the handlebars.  The front seat mounts a pair of HK21 Machine guns, used with standard triggers.  The entire body is covered in armor, with a shell of bulletproof glass around both drivers.  Perhaps the stranges modification is a steering system Emile designed, which uses a driver's legs to steer by putting pressue on a pair of pads on the cycle's body, enabling free use of both hands.
Driven by: Emile and Lena Kibagami.  Emile in the front seat, and Lena in the rear seat.

The British troops weren't using their AM long-range radios the last post, so no-one else could've heard that.  I forgot to mention about FM (short-range) and AM (long-range) radios used by military.
