The three of them went to the nest, happy to be together again. Rutilas wisely kept his mouth shut on certain issues, and they enjoyed the rest of the night.

Rex had found a nice clearing at least 2 kilometers away from where the other 3 sharpteeth were and he had begun to sleep tired and hungry since he had not found any food to fill up his emty stomache, he almost had a flier but it had gotten away before he could clamp his jaws down...

The next morning...

Rutilas awoke to find his mate and child were up, although by the looks of it, not for more than a few minutes...

"Morning Whiteclaw. Did you have a good night?"

Rutilas rose up off of the ground and yawned; the sound from that alone was enough to make flyers take to the sky in fear, but his family didn't mind.

"Good to hear. Shall I get the food today, so you can rest here, or do you want to come along with me on the hunt?"

He decided not to act like he normally did with her... they had just gone through a scare with their son, and even Rutilas knew it was not a good idea to pressure her after that...

For all his faults as a mate and a father, Rutilas was an excellent hunter. Although his mind was dominated by baser urges, this meant much more than mating and sleeping; it also meant eating, which, for a Sharptooth, meant tracking, hunting, and killing. He was good at all three.

Earlier parts of this RP are not OK on the GOF. I don't have an issue with sharptooth parents raising a youngster, but leave out the descriptive mating rituals.

Whiteclaw climbed onto a rock to get a better whiff."Yes, I do. Some of them smell young...young enough for Slasher to take down." She tapped her foot thoughtfully. "Threehorns usually surround their young to protect them. If we could manage to separate the adults from at least one young one, that could give Slasher a chance for a good kill."
