Don't you remember in Pizza Hut, they sold puppets of the original LBT movie. I do think they showed the commercial of the Pizza Hut on the VHS? Does anyone remember that?  :cry2

I've heard some people of the GoF have those puppets, but more of it I do not know. I was not born by then (I think). :(

I was searching up Pizza Hut Puppets, and I came with a good response of a picture. But I wonder why Petrie is blue? I also found the Pizza Hut commercial. The commercial on the video contains the first few minutes of LBT.

Isn't that Petrie's mother?
No, that's Petrie.

LOL.  The first image you have posted belongs to Petrie.  Those are actually his Pizza Hut toys. :lol He's a fellow member here BTW.  More than that actually.  He's an admin.  The net is smaller than we all think. B)

That's classic. Does anyone know why Petrie is coloured like his mother then?

Maybe he fell into a bush of blue berries and smashed them thus getting his color altered until he washes it off.

No one knows.  I guess the people who made him never watched the videos.

More likely though, the company that made him bought the wrong color of paint or dye.  We all know how one color looks completely different in the can than on the wall. :p They probably didn't bother to correct it because they figured no kids were really gonna notice and it would cost a lot of money to re-buy the thousands of gallons of paint.

Apart from the Pizza hut puppets (which are very regularly offered at ebay) there are a couple of other examples of "blue and pink Petrie". He was pictured in this manner in the 1988 Illustrated land before time book. I also have a Petrie plush from back then which is held in those colors. I don't know why this other version of Petrie existed, but for some reason Petrie seems to be the most frequently "disfigured" character. Many of the newer products bearing the "land before time collection" seal (and even some of the covers) sport what has often been called the "bat version" of Petrie. That version has him with a few hairs on his head and his neck, with bat-like wings (rather than the accurate wings supported by one bone only), a crooked beak, and broad eye circles.
Personally I really dislike that way of picturing Petrie as he looks not like a kid but like his great grandfather might look in case he had undergone some really messed up surgery.

Likely it was done by someone who had no idea what Petrie looked like.  Or maybe someone gave the painter a picture of his mother in some cases thinking it was Petrie.

Oh god, my grandparents used to have those puppets until a few weeks ago when they gave them to my little cousin.

My preciousssssssssssssss.......

That's my picture and those are mine and apparently I'm one of few that actually have all of them.  Everywhere it seems people have incomplete sets.  How'd you find that picture?  Its only posted on this board to my knowledge.

They do look cute.

I found a youtube link to a video of an old pizza hut commercial with the puppets.

My vite is they colored him like that to get kid's attention. Bright colors + kids= happy.

Some people can get ahold of other people's pics and put them on photobucket. A few of my icons are on there that I never put up into photobucket, plus they're under a diffrent username...

I dont recall if I had any od my own, but my best friend had a few.

Well, there have been bigger cosmetic changes over time for things, Banjo-Kazooie is a prime example, but Sonic could've also had a turtle as a sidekick from 1992, the turtle would've been called Boomer XD

Anyway... I got the puppets back when they first came out

Hmm...  I've heard of these, but don't have any myself...  Anyway, I don't need any myself; I've got the recent set of plushes! Yeah, waiting for Playmates Toys to make the Spike and Petrie ones, too!  (Hope they also make a Ruby one; that would rock!)

EDIT: Sorry, didn't mean to post off-topc...

Is it out on display, or kept in a box or something?  Just curious.
