Nightmare fuel

Just out of morbid curiosity: were there any movies that got the GOF members terrified and inspired a bunch of bad sleep stories? Growing up in the first decade of the post-USSR era when Russia had no content rating system to speak of I used to watch a lot of stuff unsuitable for my age. Nightmare on Elm Street was the film series that haunted me the most, but nowadays that stuff's hilarious.

There aren't really many movies I can think of that really gave me nightmares. The only movie I can think of that I've had dreams relating to are the Human Centipede movies. Weird since I don't really find them that scary(although I do find the idea a little unsettling so that could be why). Other than that, I can't think of any movies that have scared me that badly.
