I have both the PC and PS2 versions of the game. Often times I mod my PC copy to restrict myself to 3 dig sites just like what the PS2 version has, if merely because none of the campaigns in the whole game require you to have more than 3 dig sites at any given time. Often times when I make parks with just 3 dig sites used, I often use solely the Jurassic Period dig sites because of the fact A: the title Jurassic Park, and B: all of the Jurassic Period dig sites give you very popular animals to make use of.
Cripes! Digimon World! That's another game!  :wow

Anyhoo! :DD
Ehh, I'm the person who just unlocks ALL the dig sites. I've been using the Jurassic Period dinosaurs myself, though I haven't yet reached the 5 stars. :DD

Yes! I would say that it's VERY good! Though I'm not entirely certain I would pay a hundred dollars for it?
I got it at the Store when it came out - a lot of peeps on Ebay sell it for a heck of a lot more.

In middle school I had to choose between this and Dino Defender, they were both in the sale bin at TJ Maxx and I picked Dino Defender because it came bundled with its sequel Danger Zone. However, I sank hundreds of hours into both of those games so I'm not too fussed with my decision.
Rush of NOSTALGIA! I totally forgot about both of those games! I sunk many hours trying to unlock all of the printable dino cards in Dino Defender.
WOW, me too!
I don't think I had Dino Defender, but I DID have Danger Zone.
I also had Scan Command and Dinosaur Battles - basically the same thing as Scan Command, minus the bar-code scanner.  :DD

I'm still hoping that they'll make a Jurassic World : Operation Genesis myself...!
... They'd have to wait until Jurassic World became a trilogy though - assuming that's their intention to make a trilogy. ^^
Dinosaur Battles! Had that one too! I always wanted Scan Command: Jurassic Park but my mom got me Dinosaur Battles instead. Loved it though!
A Jurassic World: Operation Genesis would be awesome.
Supposedly Jurassic World will be a trilogy.
Dinosaur Battles and Scan Command, as I said, were pretty much the same thing, minus scanning barcodes in stores with the scanner.  :DD

I REALLY preferred Dinosaur Battles - the idea behind Scan Command was REALLY cool, but... The scanner wasn't exactly the best working? Most of the time it didn't work - and you ABSOLUTELY NEEDED the DNA from scanning the barcodes to make your Dinosaurs stronger? While it was an interesting idea, I felt was kinda poorly implemented?

I've heard of Prehistoric Kingdom, actually - does sound like an interest thing.
Another Dinosaur game that I'm interested in is The ArchoTek Project - I made a thread about it! You should check it out!  :DD

Evil, you are.
I would have to go with... um...
I guess I'd rather watch Twilight. At least there are things one can like about it. After Earth sounded good on paper, but was terribly executed.

Would you rather watch Prometheus or Predators?
Psst! That was BATTLEFIELD Earth! ;)
But yeah, After Earth was kinda... Bland?

I've NEVER seen Prometheus, so I'm gonna go with that!  :DD

Aw man, so there was this game released way back in 2003 called Jurassic Park : Operation Genesis ; one of them Park Building type of games - obviously tied in with the Jurassic Park films!  :DD

Aw man, it's a pretty cool game! As I said : You choose a randomized island, and build your park on it, create your Dinosaurs, and open the park to the public and watch as the tourists come flocking in.

You start off with a relatively small selection of Dinosaurs - 2-3 - but over time, you get to unlock Dig-Sites, where you can go out and collect Dinosaur Bones and extract their DNA! In this way, you can unlock more Dinosaurs, in addition to expanding their lifespan.

You've got four different types of visitors ; The Mainstreamers(who are perfectly happy and content just seeing DINOSAURS), the Fun Lovers(Herbivore Fans), Thrill Seekers(Carnivore Fans) and Dino Nerds(the pickiest of the group : likes authenticity, such as seeing Dinosaurs from the same time period).

And of course, you've got your necessities : Restaurants and Bathrooms! :DD

There are also different upgrades you can research too : Cash Machines and Umbrella's for your visitors ; more buildings and attractions, vaccines because your Dinosaurs WILL get sick, among other things.

The goal for the game is relatively simple : Earn a Five-Star rating for your park! And make sure your visitors aren't eaten by your Dinosaurs should they break out of their fences. :DD

... Tornadoes are also a hazard too, so watch out for those.  :wow

So, who else has heard of this game? I own the PS2 and PC versions - prefer the PC. You can make certain... Modifications on PC.  :smile

But aw man! I've actually discovered that this game, while it has a very passionate playerbase, was actually quite elusive, so there weren't that many people to have gotten their hands on this little game.

If you go onto Ebay and the like, you might find the game running from around 20 dollars up to a hundred.

On a funny sidenote, I suppose you could say this game unintentionally predicted that there WOULD be a Dinosaur Theme Park opened to the public - except this new theme park has introduced the notion of Hybrids, and is under a different company, in addition to sporting the name Jurassic World. :DD

Silver Screen / Commercials that you hate
« on: March 01, 2017, 12:01:33 AM »
Bit of a sensitive one, I'm afraid.

Man, there's a lot of annoying commercials out there, but the ones that I really hate are the Animal Cruelty ones...

It breaks my heart seeing those poor things in such a state ; and it's disgusting that things like that happen. But I don't exactly appreciate watching a relatively light-hearted movie or show and seeing that?

And a lot of those commercials are just gimmicks... Aren't they? Can't really trust 'em anymore. A lot of the time they're scams.  :(

Nineteen Eighty-Four.

The new one.  It was a far more truthful adaption of the source material than the 1995 film.

The original Battlestar Galactica or the 2003 remake?
'fraid I'm unfamiliar with Battlestar Galactica - I've heard of it, but never watched it... Might give the original a try.

How about...

... Battlefield Earth, or, um...

Twilight.  :DD

Gamers Zone / The ArchoTek Project
« on: February 25, 2017, 05:04:05 PM »

Well, fellow peeps! I'd like to tell you about an upcoming game that is presently over on Steam Greenlight!  :DD

UPDATE : Well Folks! It would appear that The ArchoTek Project has reached it's Greenlight! :DD

The ArchoTek Project is an upcoming Dinosaur Sandbox/Simulator game ; planned modes include playing as the Dinosaur - Either by yourself or co-op - and Ecosystem Mode, where you get to build your own Ecosystem, populating it with Dinosaurs and other such Flora and Fauna.
In addition to Sandbox Mode, which gives you free reign.  :lol

As I said : The game is presently on Steam Greenlight (which has just been reached as of this editing) - you can read a bit more about the game in the link, and I highly recommend checking it out.  :DD

Thank you all for the warm welcome! :DD  And a hello to the peeps that have joined during my absence!  :smile
It is nice coming back here again - I actually came back because there was something that I thought the peeps on here would be interested in checking out. I just need to decide where would be a good place to make a topic about it.  :DD

But of course I'm not just gonna drop by, leave a thread and vanish! I am hoping to stick around on here a bit more.

Remember me?  :lol

Babidi Kraken Guard, returning to the Gang of Five forums once again! Boy, it's been a long time - HEY! We've got a new Land Before Time movie! Man, I remember when peeps were discussing the possibilities of another movie - some of them talking about how the next one would have involved the Dinosaurs preparing for the oncoming meteor that would have wiped them out... Not entirely sure if they were serious or if they were joking about that.  :p

Aw man. If I might ask, could I undergo a Username change, please? I'd like to go with Kraken Guard - or KrakenGuard, if we only use one word names?  :lol

Please! I want to see it! :DD

... A fangame! With how I feel toward that character, I would love seeing a fangame with Turbo! He's just... :lol

I don't know, he's just... There's something about him that's kinda fun. :DD

I know a lot of people have been photoshopping screenshots from certain games, and adding Turbo into them. I myself have been sort of contributing to that. I'd have to show those manips off.  :DD

... Speaking of manips, you might have seen two of them in the captions section. They're the ones with the Horned King and King Candy, and Frollo and Jafar.

... I honestly don't know what I was thinking with that Frollo and Jafar one.  :lol

I'm not sure! I kinda find Turbo sorta adorable, in an odd sort of way, and if for the wrong reasons(please; this is coming from someone who thinks Davy Jones and the Horned King are some of the cutest critters to grace the screen).

I know he's the villain, and he was sorta nasty, but... There's something about him - he's such an endearing character that I kinda can't help but love the little guy. :lol

I've a soft spot for villains. :DD

It kinda disappointed me with what happened to him in the film - I was actually really hesitant toward the character at first, but after I'd read more about him, and actually had the chance to see the movie myself, I thought him to be a really interesting character, and it kinda disappointed me to see him die. It was sort of a 'too good to last' sort of thing.

Ironic, considering... :DD

Anyhow, I did need to look at a screenshot for reference(and I swear, that shot is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it). That has to be my favorite screenshot of Turbo; I just wish I had it in a clearer quality. :DD

I tried doing the same image again over on the little paint programs on the official Disney website. I actually didn't think it was a paint program, because all I had seen was 'Sugar Rush Racer Maker' or something along those lines. Intrigued, I clicked it, and then noticed: Wait; this is a paint program!

Whatever! I decided I'd fiddle around on it, and what do you know? Guess who I drew?  :DD

... I'll admit, the eyes are a bit off, but the paint programs on there are a tad bit wonky. But either way, I'm pretty proud of the result. :DD

... And he actually had turned out a bit better than the Horned King, whom I had drawn gosh-knows-how-long-ago.  :DD

I think... Mute. :p

I talk more on the internet anyway; and besides that, there are always things to write on. It's a lot more difficult not being able to hear things, I would think.

... Twilight, or 50 shades of gray.

I don't know; I saw Twilight mentioned before, and that was the only thing I could think of. :p

Anyhow, continuing on where I left off...  :p

Turbo

These were the last three images I had wanted to upload in the last post; but, for reasons unknown, they wouldn't show, so I had to put it off and save it for another post.  :D

Those Turbo sprites? Admittedly, I've been browsing a lot of screencaps from Wreck-It Ralph in order to make the sprites look as accurate as possible.
Probably not very original of me, but it was something to kill the time.  :nyah
