What made you start the Insane Cafe tetrology?
Title: Ask Nick anything
Post by: Nick22 on August 11, 2009, 01:32:09 AM
Actually it was Aves who started the iNsane cafe, and it was initially a place wher everything and everything went. the sequels have been more plot driven, but that still dooesn't mean insane things still don't happen

Serris: Well I'm partial to the current one, although the second one is up there as well. there stories would not be possible without the efforts of you, DRake, Kor, TFS and Noname. you guys deserve a pat on the back
LBT; thats quite a coincidence

How long have you and Adam been friends?
Title: Ask Nick anything
Post by: Nick22 on August 11, 2009, 12:11:34 PM
Well, I first met Adam and Malte on the Network54 boards back in 2002. I joined Adam's WElcome to the Great Valley Forum, and eventually took over running the site from him. it didn't last unfortunately. we never got more than ten members. howeever, two of those members Threehorn and Kenji later joined here and have become productive members. I joined in November 2004, and I let the Welcome to the Great Valley bosrd die off. I become mod here, but it wasn't until after a spamming attack in march 2005 that I became an Admin. I've held that position ever since, for four years now. Adam and I are friends and he trusts me..and I him..

thats a good question LBt. Lets see, around 12-15, some of which were never completed. my favorite would have to be the Insane cafe series - I'm counting the three as a whole..

When did you start becoming a LBT fan?
Title: Ask Nick anything
Post by: Nick22 on August 13, 2009, 12:26:30 AM
well I fitrst saw the film when it first came out. I ended up with the fitrst 10 LBt films( my little brotyher was big into dinosaurs) , but we 've since given them away to my little cousin Colin.  So I've been an LBt fan for about 20 years..

How did you get interested in the Darwin's Soldiers universe?
Title: Ask Nick anything
Post by: Nick22 on August 13, 2009, 01:26:20 AM
Well, I had read bits and pieces lof the story beforem,, but it wasn';'t until your characters got involves in the Second Insane cafe, that my interest really took off. You did a very good job with the story. a group of seven scentists drawn together to stop Dragonstorm and terrorists.. so far, they've managed to come out of it alive..

Where did you come up with your characters name Aisha Tennes for the Darwin's Soldiers RP?
Title: Ask Nick anything

Just where did you learn so much about history?
Title: Ask Nick anything
Post by: Nick22 on September 15, 2009, 08:02:20 PM
Answering both questions
Aisha Tennes, was a name i just threw together, i made her a gifted student, because often times children of  high ranking officials tend to be very driven people. shes a loyal person, and unwilling to back down from a fight..
as for learning about history, well, i've always enjoyed reading, and learning about the past. i alkso have a very good memory, when i read something, i twend to remember it. i'm good with dates and figures, and understanding why the people of each area did things the way they did.

Title: Ask Nick anything

Title: Ask Nick anything
Post by: Caustizer on September 16, 2009, 10:34:53 AM
What do you think the filmmakers at Universal should do to turn LBT into a success once more?
Title: Ask Nick anything
Post by: Nick22 on September 16, 2009, 10:45:15 AM
wel, they need to go back to the formula of the early sequels. my personal preference would be to bring Ali back in a new sequel. the last few sequels have been more and miore focused on young kids, and have lacked the appeal to other age groups that the early sequels had. imo the folks at Universal waited too long to put out an LBt tv series.  they should have put one out after LBT 4 or 5.
Title: Ask Nick anything
Post by: Caustizer on September 16, 2009, 10:46:20 AM
So you think they should be darker like Don Bluth intended?
Title: Ask Nick anything
Post by: Nick22 on September 16, 2009, 10:53:02 AM
yes. bad things happen in real life, and it would help too littlefoot had other longneck friends, we don't see many other longneck kids in the valley although there should be some..

Was the "darkening" of the Insane Cafe Tetrology intentional?
Title: Ask Nick anything

not really, it just has happened as the story has unfolded. the next chapter will be less dark.. more light-hearted..

Title: Ask Nick anything

I have a question.
You have an interest in history...I was wondering do you have a certain area or time period that you are interested in, or do you just like all areas of history?

And you say that you play tennis...what raquet do you have?  Are you interested in watching the tennis?  If yes, do you have a favourite tennis player?

As for you playing, do you have a ranking or do you not participate in tournaments?

Sorry if these aren't in-depth and serious questions.

Edit: :lol, it seems as though I've asked more than one question.
Title: Ask Nick anything
Post by: Nick22 on February 12, 2010, 08:10:16 PM
a lot of question sAft, but I'll be glad to answers them
I don't compete in tournament, although I did in high school. I finished 6th in my conference in 4 singles on year, which isn't bad at all considering 3 of the teams in my league are perennial state powers, and the guy i lost to in the consolation final was  his teams #1 player. Considering i only have one working eye I'm not that bad of a player.
As for favorite players, I grew up idolizing Pete Sampras the great American tennis player. He won 14 majors which was the most until Roger Federer broke it. Federer is the best male tennis player ever, female, i'd have to say Martina Navitralova. I use Wilson made rackets when i play.. and I watch tennis a lot on ESPN, the speed the men can serve nowadays is amazing.. its incredible they can even see the ball, let alone return it..

Also, did threehorn used to be an admin or mod? I saw him mention he was one.

I meant was Threehorn an admin or mod here? I saw that he started a new topic in the announcements section, and I know that only admins and mods can start new topics in that section.

EDIT:
This topic to be exact, that's why I was wondering if Threehorn was an admin or mod here.

he was a mod for sometime , just for a particular forum. there were mods listed for particular sections then global mods then admins..

Post by: Adder on February 03, 2011, 09:57:16 PM
I know, I use that same system on my Tremors and Pebble and the Penguin forums. I also use that Members+ system for both too, I have After Midnight forums on them.
I think I've found out how Petrie set up that Members+ system. He created a permission mask for that specific user group "Members+", and it is only used for that group. Then Admins, Global Mods and Forum Mods can view it by default even if they don't have 25 posts, and as they are trusted members or they wouldn't be in the rank they are at.

Is there actually a section on GOF used for admins to discuss topics such as banning members or deleting topics or topics such as the new member icons?

On my pebble and the penguin forum, Adam (who I appointed an admin) created a section that is only for admins and mods, so I was curious is all.

Title: Ask Nick anything
Post by: Adder on February 03, 2011, 10:05:58 PM
I know, I haven't had to ban anybody yet on my Tremors or Pebble forums (there's only three members on the Tremors one, and five on the Pebble), and they are all people I know well from other sites. But I'm expecting (when and if) any more members join my forums, I will have to warn, disable accounts or ban members on them, but I have had to block a few people on Ice Age wiki, and I've banned a few even. Let's just say, if they want to post rumors, find a wiki about Ice Age that allows rumors or keep them to yourself.
I haven't had trouble with posts in the wrong sections or anything like that either, although on the pebble forum I had to split one topic.

Was it just me, or did Petrie used to by the name "RoggerRabbit" or something like that on GOF before he changed it? I saw his second account referred to that two or three times on GOF.

Do you ever play King/Queen of the court?
It is like a round robin.  You get two players (if playing doubles) to go on the opposite side of the court and then line up the other players who will have a short rally until either they miss the ball or the 'king(s)' or 'queen(s)' miss.  Then they becoming king/queen.

It was great fun to play and even greater to help teach (mum allows my sister and I to help on occasion if she needs it).

yes i do, and the kids love it. sometimes we play it with doubles, gets more kids involved. what i normally do is have the challengers win 2 points beforing dethrioning the king/quueen. they miss a shot the next group comes in and rotates.

First question: given the shows target audience, Chomper will stay nice
Second question : Its likely they will, they didnt show any other girl longnecks in any part of the series
Third question: Not at all, hes an annoying characters and fails to be comic relief. theres a reason his role was so small in the second and third prequels.

What is your least favorite LBT character?

(Mine personally are Dana, Dinah, Rhett, and Bron (who I feel has a lot of explaining to do.  I also think Rinkus looks dorky and that detracts from his role as a villain.)

I used to despite Topps when I was younger, but he's become a lot more tolerable after movie 5.

Do you think Chomper would have eaten Ducky had they not been rescued in "Escape from the Mysterious Beyond", say for 2 weeks?  Would he have considered it?  Do you think Ducky ever considered that Chomper might eat her if the others didn't show up within a few days, even if Thud didn't get her, that Chomper might?

Title: Ask Nick anything
Post by: Nick22 on January 06, 2015, 03:14:27 AM
Yes, to all 3. remember Chomper is a meateater and given that Ducky would have been his only possible source of food during the 2 weeks they were stuck in there.and ducky would have been foolish not to consider that she might become food, especially if there was no food for her in that area, that she might well die of starvation before they get rescued.

Why do you almost never capitalize words that should be capitalized (like i and the start of a sentence)?

I type fast, and as a result, things that should be capitalized, sometimes are not. In addition, I have poor vision, so I sometimes miss when words are not capitalized as they should. I usually correct those mistakes, when I catch them.

Post by: Nick22 on June 25, 2018, 12:41:04 PM
I like at the Mario Karts I've played, but my favorite would have to be 64, followed by Double Dash. Mario Kart really needs a Tournament mode, where you race off based on how you did in the last cup. So if you finished 14th you'd race in a series against the third place finisher, and the difference in  points would translate into a head start for the higher seed , with each point, meaning 1 second. Basically it would be a lap lead for the  better racers.

if i could be a superhero.. thats a good question firstly , most of the good names are already taken, as are most of the good powers. i think something similar to Mystique's ability to change into anyone and mimic their voices would be cool. the costume would have to conform to that ability, of course. the man with infinite faces, i guess would be my name, taking a cue from what was said about Orson wells.

Post by: Nick22 on March 31, 2020, 10:36:55 PM
rugrats came out when i was older and i didnt watch much of it.
For prisons i view it as dependent on what was the crime, and hoe severe it was. murder, rape , pedophiles etc, you punish them because those types cannot be reformed. for others you rehabilitate as much as possible.

If you saw a couple getting in a big blow out fight in public, and one of them slaps the other a little bit, how would you react?

How would you intervene in a way that you knew wouldn't wind up making life worse for both of them?
Title: Re: Ask Nick anything
Post by: Nick22 on December 29, 2021, 11:15:22 AM
thats a good question. rule of thumb in those matter is  don;t intervene, its a domestic issue, and other people getting involved in domestic issues often ends badly. just ask cops who are asked to step in in such matters.  people don;t like other people sticking their nose where it doesnt belong.
