I got a idea. guys I know this might be a bit of a pain, if you record them on boomerang through a VHS tape at least and send them to me I could possible do something with it and get it on a PC format video file. Might be a long shot but I think I can do it  then Landbeforetimelover can put it on his 4share location and we all can view it

Just thought of it as well lol.

So the ones we need is...

amazing threehorn girl
eyes through a Spiketail
March of the Sand Crawles and that other we are not sure about. if anyone can get it on a video I could do something with it  I know there places that still sell blank VHS tapes like Poundland. it just a idea but it might work for all the GOF members

I believe we need:
  • March of the Sand Creepers
  • The Amazing Threehorn Girl
  • Through the Eyes of a Spiketail
  • The Sky-fire Promise (existence unconfirmed)
  • The Longneck and the Cobbler (existence unconfirmed)

that right, if someone that lives in the UK that watch them around the time they come on and record them on VHS and send me it I could possible get it onto my computer in my room and turn it into a video format. I have to check it out and I will tomorrow :)

All I need is a small and very cheap converter and I can get a vhs tape onto the computer if need be.  However, shipping isn't exactly free. :(

I have "The March of the Sand Creepers" on my PVR saved and recorded since the day it aired.  The problem is that it's almost impossible to transfer them to my computer.  Otherwise, I would have uploaded it to YouTube if nobody else could get it.

It would be preferrable, if y'all could, to just upload the actual file to a file sharing site rather than a video viewing site like YouTube, Google, DailyMotion, or whatever, because I hear those sites compress videos like that that you upload to lower the filesize (which also, of course, lowers the video quality). So, if you could upload the video, don't upload it to YouTube. Use another file sharing site, instead.

What's a PVR?
Personal Video Recorder.  I have a Roger's PVR, and apparently, videos are encrypted so even if I were to transfer the files out of the PVR's harddrive onto my own, it'd be tough to get it to a viewable video file. :p

I guess it'd be smarter to upload it to a file sharing site, but that doesn't even matter now since there's no way I can get it on a computer without some hacky method.

I believe that a standard dvd decrypting program will work on these sorts of files such as slydvd or dvdfab.  If it does work, I would be able to transfer to dvd(vob)format and then to avi and compress it.  It's just what I've heard about pvr files.  I dunno if it's true.  If you could send me the file, I could try to do something with it.

funny thing is when I bought my PC I didn't know about this program and lead ports in the computer, I was just looking for a PC to be in my room to replace the one that broke down.

I can just take the lead out of the TV that connects to the Video player and I can play whatever channels or videos on the video player on my PC. And funny enough I can record whatever being displayed at the time onto a video file format.

I know it works cause I try that funny enough only a week ago to see what happen. Kind of neat to know that :) that why all I need is a VHS tape of those missing eps but it has to be someone from the UK, US formats don't work at all in the UK they come out in black and white.

So the VHS tape is whoever records it from the UK Boomerang channel :)

Then I can work my magic on my PC and get this for everyone  :DD

Another idea is that if anyone from the US here has a dvd recorder, they can send me a copy of the dvd and I will de-regionize it making it playable in all dvd players and then Threehorn can record to his computer.  It works.  I sent a copy of a dvd to someone in the UK and they could play it just fine.

I just ran a check on my Packard Bell PC in my room and I can play videos on it and even record what is displayed from the video :)

All I did was enter the Power Cinerma then TV and it there displayed and I can view the video lol :) so now I know that for 100% all I need is a VHS tape from someone in the UK that can get hold of the last missing episodes that we haven't came across and then we will have them all for friends to view from out of country :D  :lol

A dvd made by a dvd recorder.

@ unknown person:

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but couldn't you just take the ep, play it on the pvr, and then record it to a vhs tape or blank dvd?

My Roger's PVR has a specific "Record to VCR" feature.  Unfortunately, all my VCRs are past a usable point, so I can't use them anymore.  If I had a device that recorded the screen of a TV or possibly a DVD recorder, then it would be more realistic, since I could get it to a file on my computer, but otherwise, not really.  Sorry. :|

I don't think it's stored in any proprietary format like that, and is probably one of the company's own formats.  I'd have to take out the harddrive, essentially devoiding my warranty, and attach it to my computer to even have a chance to look at the file.

Do you have a dvd player with a usb port or does your pvr come with one?  If so, you can employ some...unofficially created applications to be able to burn the pvr file to a dvd in vob format.  I have no idea how to do this.  I'm not a tv guy.  I can find you a good explaination online though.

I don't see how a DVD player would do any good, since it only can play them.  The Rogers PVR has a usb or firewire port (I forgot, one of those), but they are disabled, so there's no use trying to do that.  I already tried to search online for methods on transferring video from a Rogers PVR to a computer, and came to no avail.  I may eventually try again, but I don't expect much from it.
