Hard for me to say, as we have yet to see the rebooted version in order to compare. However, the updated version would have to really exceed expectations in order to beat Carl Sagan's original masterpiece. So I will have to go with the original Cosmos.

'fraid I'm unfamiliar with Battlestar Galactica - I've heard of it, but never watched it... Might give the original a try.
