Title: Heading to the Oregon Coast
Post by: pokeplayer984 on July 27, 2019, 06:36:02 AM
Hey there, everyone!  Sorry about not telling everyone earlier, but I am currently at a hotel in Boise and me and my family are going to the Oregon Coast.

From here, the plan is to head to my Grandma's in Washington and stay there until Monday, where we will head for the coast where we have rented out a place to stay for the week.  We plan to be back by Sunday.

Other than a traffic jam, it wasn't too bad.  I did fall asleep on the trip over, but with my current work schedule, it was to be expected.

Anyways, that's all for now.

See ya later! :wave

Have a great trip and take some pictures if you can!

Make sure to avoid the Oregon Trail. I hear it's quite deadly :p

Ooh, that seems fun. Have fun on your vacation! What kind of marine life do you plan on seeing? :)

I'm back and sorry I didn't reply during the WHOLE time I was gone.  For one reason or another, I wasn't up to it.  I can blame laziness, the kids making it difficult to concentrate or just not in the mood during the time I was able to.  Let's just do it all here.

First off, yes, I did get sunburned.  Mind you, not as bad as I could have gotten, but still bad.  Still feel it on my feet, just so you know. x(cera

With that out of the way, we stayed in Lincoln City at a house that had 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.  It also had 3 futons that changed into beds.  I got to sleep on one on the first floor and my nephews got the one upstairs on the third floor.

We didn't get to see much marine life outside of crabs and some crustaceans on the shore.  Other than that, this trip was a lot of fun.  Just being with the family really.

However, I will share something.  You see, there is a movie theater there.  They only play a few movies, but look at what was airing while I was there.  For only one day no less.

I hope you can read it.  I only had time to get one shot.  Anyways, yes, The Land Before Time was airing at a movie theater alongside the movie Yesterday.  Too bad I didn't get to see it.  Would've been nice.

As for more pictures... give me until Sunday.  Maybe then I can convince my Dad to upload the pictures on his camera.

Still, had fun with the family and that's what mattered most.

Until next time, see ya! :wave

That's neat that they were playing Land Before Time there. I actually had the chance to see the film at my local theatre about a month ago. It was pretty sweet.

Yes, please do upload more photos when you have a chance. I too would be interested to see them. The community demands more pictures.

Is it a coincidence that so many people have The Land Before Time movie either at their local theatre or when they're on vacation? Many of it happened recently as well.

I concur with StardustSoldier for more pictures on your trip. Did you happen to take pictures of the house you resided in too?

I also had the opportunity to watch LBT in theatres back in February. Was definitely a surreal experience.

I too am up for seeing some photos!

^Same for me. "Surreal" is a good way to describe it. I remember sitting there in the theatre waiting for the movie to start. Then it started and I was like, wow, I'm actually sitting here watching the original Land Before Time on the big screen. I'd known about the event a month in advance, but there was still something unexpected about it when the movie began.

Mine was very much rushed as opposed to yours. I only found out about the night before when I just so happened to see it on the website. It didn't really hit me until I started watching. Definitely a lucky break for me that I happened to find out in the nick of time!

I'm afraid I couldn't get a hold of the pictures, so it'll have to wait.  Sorry, but a lot was going on Sunday and I never got the chance to ask my dad.

Hopefully, when next Sunday rolls around, I can get them and get it done then.

Just an update to let you all know what's happening, and I'll see ya later! :wave

Did you get a chance to ask him?

^^Nope!  This time it was because he was at work for most of the day.  By the time he was home, I just forgot about it.  My bad! :(

Haha, I thought your birthday would be the perfect opportunity to ask him about the pictures. It is on Sunday this year, after all.

Either way, we're all the same patient about it. :)

Okay, seeing as how I can't be competent to ask my dad about those pictures.  Let's leave it on "one day I will post those pictures" and see how long it finally takes.

Okay?  Okay! x(cera

If these photos aren't forthcoming, I might need to flip some tables.

Whether you have driven a small portion or the whole stretch it is beautiful. We throughout the years have driven up and down many times. It is something which never really gets old. So many places to pull off and just enjoy the area!
