Sorry for being so late (not that that should be surprising :rolleyes); my Internet connection has been making it difficult for me to even reach the GOF in the past several days.
The good news is, this year I finally have a star day card for you. :wow
One reason I’d never made you a card until now is that I was stumped on how to design one: I had no idea how to recognizably draw anything Bionicle-related (For some time I considered dismantling several of my own Bionicle LEGO sets, arranging the pieces to spell out a birthday greeting, then photographing the whole setup and using that as a reference to draw the card). It was just a few days ago when inspiration hit me: I’d make you a MythBusters-themed card instead. :idea

Serendipitously, I had asked you beforehand about your favorite MythBusters episodes, so I attempted to include as many references to those myths in the card as I could, which you’ll hopefully be able to recognize. Mixed in are some generic MythBusters elements, such as flames, rockets, stylized explosions, clouds of smoke, tire tracks from an out-of-control car (at least, that’s what the ëS’ is supposed to be), some artfully arranged shrapnel, the “myth outcome” signs (“Busted”, “Plausible”, and “Confirmed”), and, of course, Buster, the crash-test dummy (whose arms have been blown off and appear elsewhere on the card :lol). Oh, and the requisite Lystrosaurus head beside my signature is sporting a Jamie Hyneman beret and mustache. :lol
I did manage to include a lone Bionicle artifact: Takua’s mask (The card just didn’t say “The Chronicler” without it ;)).
Hope you like the card, and sorry again for the wait. (Assuming my Web connection cooperates, I'll post my next review of your fanfiction soon, too.)

I can definitely identify most of the references you put in that card :lol , and it was nice that you also threw in one object to acknowledge me being a Bionicle fan. :yes If you really have been struggling to come up with anything Bionicle-related, then I guess just ordinary Lego would be fine by me, next time. :)
(Oh, and thanks for reminding me about my fanfic. I've busy with other interests (again) and haven't really gotten around to writing the next chapter.)

Thanks, guys. :) I didn't do much yesterday, but I did appreciate the few gifts I received. I got a Lego set (Burj Khalifa), and a movie I had asked for last year (Lego: the Adventures of Clutch Powers). Even though I'm not sure when I'll have time to watch that movie, it's definitely something I know I'll enjoy.

Even though today being Thanksgiving Day meant that my family and I had to visit with relatives (which I'm honestly never excited about), I decided this year that it would be nice if, for once, we could all do something that even I would enjoy. Specifically, I decided to bring my copy of The LEGO Movie with me for all of us to watch. Everyone certainly seemed to enjoy it, so I'm glad that my idea was appreciated.
As for gifts I received, I really only got one, but it was the one thing I really wanted more than anything else: a Lego set of Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! (seriously, that's the actual name of that set). It's a rather big set and due to family plans I doubt I'll have time to assemble it until Sunday, but still, I don't think I've ever been this excited over a birthday present for quite a while. :D

Anyway, I finished building Benny's spaceship, and I have to say that it was quite interesting to see what big Lego sets these days are like. (Over the last few years, I've gotten only small ones or Bionicle sets, so I've really been missing out on what Lego really has to offer.) It took me five and a half hours to put the whole thing together, so it's a good thing I had decided to wait until I had a whole day available to work on it.
I'm now looking forward to seeing what other Lego sets I might get for Christmas.

As usual, I didn't want to do much for my birthday, though I did get a few nice things, such as a few more Bionicle sets (and hoping for more for Christmas). My brother also got me a new cooling pad for my laptop computer, so now I no longer have to use that old one that always rattles loudly every time I turn it on. My grandparents were also kind enough to provide me with enough money so that I can continue to pay off my student loans for the next year. (Still not much luck on getting a job, but at least I will soon have a paying seasonal job that'll last for three weeks ahead of Christmas, so at least that's something.)

As I already mentioned in the "How are you feeling?" topic, I was expecting this year to be just as relatively uneventful as previous years, but my parents were able to surprise me by getting me the LEGO Apollo Saturn V rocket set that I've been desperately trying to get since it first came out nearly six months ago. Of course, all of that happened on Sunday when everyone was available. For the actual day yesterday, I decided to simply watch The Lego Movie once again.
I might be a little busy for the next few weeks, so I probably won't get a chance to build that Saturn V Lego set until after Christmas, but I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Much of my family is relatively busy this week, so we had celebrated on Sunday. We had some pizza from a place up in Burlington that I've become rather fond of. As for gifts, I got the Lego Ninjago Movie on DVD (to go along with the Lego Batman Movie I got last year, along with of course the Lego Movie), and my dad got me some wireless headphones so I can watch my shows on TV without bothering everyone in the house (especially late at night).

I'm quite nostalgic towards the older sets (especially the Castle theme) from the late 80s/early 90s, even though I don't think I ever owned any of them. Right now I've restricted myself to Harry Potter sets only, as I love the castle and magic themes. Just recently a LEGO store opened close to my work and I might have splurged a bit (and fallen in love with the new Dinosaur Fossils set (21320).

Well, aside from having to post that reminder, I had a good day, all things considered. Just like previous years, I got takeout pizza from that certain place I like in Burlington. I spent most of the day playing one of my Lego video games (in fact, as I mentioned in the "what are you playing" topic, I just so happened to unlock the last achievement I had left among all the Lego games right on that day, so that sure was nice). And of course, I also got one Lego set as well.
Just recently a LEGO store opened close to my work and I might have splurged a bit (and fallen in love with the new Dinosaur Fossils set (21320).
Coincidentally enough, the Lego set I just got happens to be that exact one! I probably won't get around to opening it for a while though, as I'm still going through all those City space sets I got last year.

Thanks, everyone. Aside from the now traditional special pizza I've mentioned in previous years, not much else occurred this year. I've already acquired throughout the last few months all of the Lego sets I was significantly interested in (Space Shuttle Discovery, World Map, Architecture Empire State Building, Architecture New York City, 3-in-1 Space Shuttle Adventure, and a whole bunch of sets from the Classic theme (I recently became especially interested in obtaining a large supply of various bricks and pieces that don't come with any instructions on assembling all of it into a single specific model)), so I didn't really expect to receive anything today. However, I was pleasantly surprised when my sister got me a couple of smaller Classic sets that I thought had just recently sold out, so at least I got something to be happy about.

Considering just how quiet this site has gotten in recent months, this is perhaps as much as I can really expect to hear from this community this year.
While I once again had already gotten myself most of the Lego sets from this year that I was interested in, one gift I did receive was a book that had just released only weeks ago called "Lego Space: 1978 - 1992", which is essentially a large encyclopedia about all of the Lego sets from the classic space theme from those early years, so that should be quite a fascinating book to read (once I can eventually set aside enough time to actually read it, of course).
