General Land Before Time / Journey of the Brave (LBT 14)
« on: February 14, 2016, 09:01:38 PM »
Wow, wow, wow, what a difference from Wisdom of Friends. It's like they took everything that was wrong and fixed it for this movie. The animation is really clean, too. <3

Oh my gosh, it's finally happening! I'm so excited! This looks like a big step up from the thirteenth movie, too, and I mean BIG (well, not just cuz they're dinosaurs either, haha). Such great animation,  too. I can't wait!!

The Fridge / Merry Christmas
« on: December 26, 2014, 01:59:52 AM »
Merry Christmas,  my fellow LBT-lovers! It is already the 26th here, but I have enjoyed today very much. My dad got me a new tablet (a Samsung GALAXY Tab4) and I'm (mostly,  hehe) using it as a scheduling device for my freelance art job. Today was great getting to see relatives. I get to see friends on Saturday for a party! Can't wait!

My art workload has kept me tethered this month, but I've managed to get a lot finished, so hopefully I can keep a tighter schedule on it and have more time for fun!
So you're an artist? What kind of art are you doing? Is it your job or just a hobby?
Yup!  I do a lot of cartoon animal character art for a living. It's time consuming but I love it, lol. :DD

And thanks, rhombus!

I'm still around! I have been busy with business and don't have much time for fun these days. Just decided to hop on and say I'm not dead and wonder how many people remember me, lol! :lol

Attic Treasures / What are you reading?
« on: September 03, 2013, 12:22:32 AM »
Just started reading book eleven of Guardians of Ga'Hoole, also the third and final book in The Legends. Amazing storytelling. Grank, Siv, and Hoole are the best characters!

General Land Before Time / What's the first LBT movie you saw?
« on: July 01, 2013, 03:51:41 PM »
The second one, I believe. My mom bought it for me during my dinosaur obsession when I was young. We ended up with the fourth movie, then the first. The fourth movie remains my favorite to this day.

General Land Before Time / Most Epic Sequel
« on: May 29, 2013, 01:03:28 AM »
This was so hard to choose from!
I think I'll go with movie ten because of the longnecks "saving the world." It just felt really "epic" overall, and I got this feeling of satisfaction after everything that transpired. And the suspension of seeing if Littlefoot would go with his father or stay with his grandparents. Very intense moment, I think.

General Land Before Time / Loofah, Doofah or Foobie
« on: May 29, 2013, 01:01:09 AM »
This wasn't one of my favorite movies in the series (but definitely not one I wouldn't watch again), but overall I chose Foobie because I found him very cute! I wish I could just hug him!

Thank you for your welcome, Tikikata. I'm so excited to meet you. So I am not the only one who thinks that the Guardians of Ga'Hoole movie is better than the books. Really, this movie is a masterpiece, but people often hate it because "it doesn't follow the books' plot". But this is just nonsence. First, not following the books' plot doesn't automatically make the movie "bad", and second, the books were so dull! The movie is pretty similar to the LOTR trilogy in its greatness, while the books are like a shortened version of Harry Potter, but with boring characters and no magic.
You're quite welcome~!
Even the author of the books herself said the movie was terrific! It remains one of my favorite movies of all time and I never get bored watching it. Though, I have to respectfully disagree that the books were "dull;" I've read up to the fourth book, and enjoyed them so far! Some of the characters that didn't appear in the movie, such as Martin the Saw-whet Owl, are some of my favorite characters! I have up to the end of the Soren Chronicles in the book series, so I haven't finished reading all of them yet.  Might go watch the movie again tonight!  :lol

Anywho, I think another movie that doesn't quite go with the book, but was fantastic overall, was The Hobbit. I'm reading through the book at the moment, and absolutely love both. Such a fantastic story. I don't think Tolkien would have a problem with the changes made to the story!

Ah, a little late, but welcome!
Quite the Ga'Hoole fan right here! Glad to see more around! I quite enjoyed the movie, and do prefer it a bit over the books. I thought they condensed the books' plots quite well. Wish they had included a few of the other members of The Band, though.

Anyway, hope you have fun! ^_^

General Land Before Time / What LBT means to me...

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. Today is the start of dealing with a new "normal" around the house and helping my dad when he needs it. I feel so lucky to be a part of this group. Everyone here is so kind.

General Land Before Time / What LBT means to me...
« on: May 06, 2013, 11:05:22 PM »
I've been a very long-time fan of LBT, since my mom had bought the movies on VHS for my brother and I to watch on long car trips.

I've developed this love for LBT4, since it touches a very sensitive spot in my heart.

This morning, May 6th, my mom passed away after a 2-month long battle with brain, bone, lung, and liver cancer. I had some friends over early on in the fight to watch LBT4 with me, and they probably thought I was crazy for watching such a sad film regarding Littlefoot's grandpa. I think it was that movie that gave me hope my mom would somehow pull through. She never did, but I still always thought back to the part where Littlefoot comes back to the Great Valley and gives his grandpa the flowers. Seeing his grandpa open his eyes always touches me to this day. My mom and I loved these movies and watched them together. She always loved Ducky.

My mom was a 3-year breast cancer survivor, getting diagnosed in 2010, and fighting hard to beat it. She was diagnosed with brain cancer, and the additional cancers, this year on March 4th, a day before her birthday. She was only 54.

She went peacefully...

Thank you for letting me share this...

(And, I realize I'm not mentioning the scene from the first movie... honestly, I don't know if I can even watch that movie anymore. That scene may haunt me for the rest of my life.)
