While I found this very very funny, this brings up so much about conspiracy and corruption.  <_<   Yes, not everything is coming up roses over here.

  This video for itself is really funny!
Very disturbing however is the dimension of truth it seems to hold  <_<
I still remember how incredulous people around here were about how the 2000 election was run in Florida. I don't think there has ever been an American presidential ellection in history that was observed with as much interest by the rest of the world as the one impending right now. Already now the press around here tells about things that are going wrong with the election.
Right now, the newspapers here tell about what seem to be deliberate actions to prevent American students (with most of them favoring John Kerry) from giving their vote on election day. The papers say for example that students who live in a
students' home close to their university are forced to hand in their vote at
the place where their parents live, as a students' home is considered a not
permanent residence. There are even stories about threats being made against
students to intimidate them into not voting. There are even stories about
district attorneys who actually threatened to put students into jail if they
try to vote! I don't know how much truth there is about this later part and
I strongly suppose that it is more of a few "special cases".
However, to people here (including myself) it really sounds really inconceivable. Nowyou are an American student, do you find there are any unnecessary
difficulties for you to hand in your vote?

Well I don't know.  I'm not going to be voting.

1.) I'm not going back home just to vote considering Tuesday is one of my busiest days.
2.) NY is already going to vote for Kerry
3.) I don't trust the absentee ballot system

They are correct because most college students don't reside in the town their college is in...they are only "temporary" residents so that is very much true that they would be turned away.  It's not because they plan to vote for Kerry.  If they wanted to vote from college they can request an absentee ballot from their home county board of elections and send it back in by the beginning of October.

I didn't have a very good idea who I wanted at that time so I wasn't going to cast an absentee ballot...plus after what happened in 2000 I don't even trust the system anymore.   <_<

So this is a reason not to vote at all?  :(
I have to admit this is frightening me. I'm scared at the idea what G. W. Bush might do if given four more years.

If I was in a swing state I'd be thinking a little differently about voting.  <_<   But I'm not.

Do you think that the recent Osama Bin Laden video will take a strong influence on the election?
And if so, would it be in Bush's favor ("The war on terrorism is not over; don't change horses now!")
or would it be in Kerry's favor ("Bush didn't manage to catch Osama because he was too focused on Iraq")?

That's hard to say....

I will say this:  everyone knows the election takes place on Tuesday November 2nd.  If Kerry wins, he won't officially take office until January.  What if we capture Osama anytime in between???  What do you think will happen then?

If Kerry was elected and Bin Laden caught the next day it could not lawfully render the election invalid.

No but, then all of a sudden there would be a strong support for Bush because Osama was indeed captured under his watch....his approval rating shot straight up as soon as we got Saddam because we thought it would be all over then, but it's not....and it's far from over.

What effect do you think the capture of Osama Bin Laden would have after an election won by Kerry? You think the election would be repeated? Or Bush crowned as the king of the US? Shudder

I don't want to think because it's never happened before where a President had been elected and then all of a sudden there was more support for the person he defeated between the time the vote was cast and that actual inauguration.

It's never happened and if it does, I don't know if I'd want to be Kerry at that time.

Sort of scary that the idea of the capture of Osama Bin Laden may appear scary.
