So, since the last one seems to have hit a stall point, I suppose I'll throw out a new storyline idea!
This one would be set after Episode VI, revolving around the initial class of Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy. In short, Luke has begun to rebuild the Jedi Order after it's fall, and has begun recruiting Force-Sensitives. Coming from all ages and ways of life, these new Jedi will experience clashes with not only remnants of the Empire, but also from their own varied backgrounds and outlooks.

Sounds interesting. I've read some EU stuff, not a lot. Some of the books were about the early days of Luke's Academy. And it's been a while since I read any of the EU books.
I guess our characters would be not yet trained and mainly teens, though I think Luke may have had a student or 2 who was older then teens. I vaguely recall that I think he may have.

Largely untrained, yep. Ages are pretty much widely variable from young to adult. And a few of the characters fates from the movies/books can be altered, so long as it doesn't entirely break the timeline?

I kind of had Vergil be a great admirer of the Jedi Master Odan-urr, and I kind of saw him as part of his trials going on this journey to attempt to reforge Odan-urr's lightsaber. I dunno, just a thought. :)

Any restrictions on races, cause I thought of making a shaard OC, Shaards are sentiant crystals that can be put into modified droids, they are even able to develop force sensitivity.

Hair: Lighter Red, worn tied back in a high, fanned-out ponytail with long bangs over the right eye

Apparel: Black Cortosis-laced armor covering shins, forearms, and chest, worn with a loose grey undergarment similar to Jedi robes. Outer layer is a thick black armorweave cloak with loose, billowing sleeves, and a hood held in place by several wires.
Arsenal: Masamune carries a large arsenal, owing to both a rough background and a desire to never be caught off-guard. Known armaments include:

Fighting Style: Masamune's style of fighting is an odd mishmash of styles. He can seemingly switch from a classy, elegant style of iaido to a brutal and savage streetfighting style in moments, making him difficult to predict, and even more difficult to counter in a straight-up fight. His unique and most dangerous moves are all based from a single stance, however. That stance is referred to as his "Dragon Claws", in which he clenches three lightsabers between the knuckles of each hand, wielding them as claws.
Force Abilities: Masamune has limited exposure to the Force, only being able to actively use it to cast the Jedi Mind trick or to augment his physical strikes. However, the latter power is still extremely dangerous, and has been seen to throw a large opponent across a room with little effort apparent on Masamune's part.
History: Masamune was born to unknown parents aboard the Kitsuun Migrant ship Distant Avalon. However, shortly after his birth, a slaver raid on his home ship led to his capture, and eventual sale to a Hutt Crime Boss on Nar Shaddaa. For the next 15 years of his life, he would be forced to work in the crime bosses underground combat pits, first as a "keeper" for the fighters that had survived a fight or two, and later as a maintenance technician for the weapons. However, shortly before he turned 18, the crime boss decided that it would be entertaining to have the boy fight in the arena. However, in a remarkable display of kindness, several of the Veteran gladiators volunteered to teach Masamune the basics of combat, of which he proved to be a quick study. On the day of his battle, as he was led to the arena to fight, he could feel something stirring within him, something he didn't know what it was. During the fight, however, it was revealed that Masamune in fact possessed a great deal of Force potential, and that potential had finally been released. As such, his former master now sought to turn him in to the Empire, but Masamune, along with almost all the other fighters, instead escaped, stealing ships and making their way into the galaxy. Masamune spent much of his time on the run learning more about his strange powers, and even managed to Force-Forge a set of blades that he now carries. Now, after the fall of the Empire, he has heard rumors about an academy that will train others like him, and now seeks it out...

Species Notes: Kitsuun
Home Planet: Kitsu-Destroyed
Appearance: Kitsuun are Canine Digitigrade Bipeds, with sharply pointed faces, large, pointed ears, and thin, wiry frames. Perhaps their most striking features, however, are their multiple tails and "foxfire" orbs. The tails increase in number as they age, topping off at nine, and each tail contains a single orb of "Foxfire". These spheres are essentially parts of their bodies, however the spheres can change into a glowing ball of fire, and be thrown, attaching themselves to surfaces or other beings.
Culture and History: Kitsuun are a spacefaring, nomadic species. Their home planet of Kitsu was consumed by a supernova, reducing their numbers considerably, however, many of them had escaped their world's destruction. These survivors have since banded together, gathering a large fleet of ships together to create a sense of a new homeworld. As such, their culture is widely diversified, however there are several constants that unite the species.
Kitsuun celebrate "benevolent trickery", often seeing it as a form of competition. They adamantly refuse to trick or manipulate people who would suffer as a result of their tricks. However, they delight in conning and tricking rich merchants and swindlers out of their money. They are also hedonistic and pleasure-seeking, enjoying the company of their own species and that of others. Sexuality is viewed as a non-issue, as is modesty, especially on any of their fleet of ships. There is only one taboo in their culture, and that is to never harm or deceive anyone who doesn't deserve it.
Age is largely treated as a non-issue with the Kitsuun, with relative prominence in society being determined by the amount of tails one possesses. One-tails are generally considered as being too young to be involved in much, instead being taught by older Kitsuun. Generally, Kitsuun are considered to have reached maturity, both sexually and in regards to involvement in the affairs of the Kitsuun people, when they grow their third tail. When any member of the society grows their ninth tail, they are generally allowed to move into a secluded ship, where they live in complete comfort, and from there on, they act as advisers for the next generation.
Galactic Perception of the Kitsuun is widely varied, ranging from extremely positive to extremely negative. To the majority of the galactic community, they are widely considered to be a very polite, sociable species, known for their kindness and outgoingly sociable natures. However, to the wealthy merchants and swindlers of the Galaxy, they are viewed as nothing more than a nuisance and species of thieves. The wealth of their victims has also been a largely negative impact, as those they wrong can easily put out a great deal of negative propaganda.

For race I was thinking maybe a gungan, not sure which subspecies I'd want to do, Jar-Jar's type or Boss Nass's type. The only force abilities he'd have, untrained, would be maybe being more accurate with a pistol. Maybe he is a competitive sport marksman. maybe also the ability to speak Wookie. Since it seems knowing a lot of languages isn't to uncommon that may not count as a ability. Also he'd be educated, having been to college or somesuch like that so he'd not speak in the usual gungan manner. Though could if he wanted to, of course.

I put together a first draft of the character.

Species: Gungan [Otalla] Jar Jar Binks type

Age: equivalant to a human about 20
Home Planet: Naboo
Skin/Fur/Etc: purpleish colored skin
Hair: none
Eyes: orange
Height: around 6 feet tall.
Build/Weight: slightly muscular, but lanky mainly.
Apparel: light weave bio-armor. Looks like normal clothing, light jacket, shirt, pants, ect. Greenish, with some blue and orange highlights. It can repair itself over time. Faster if kept in sunlight. Can get needed nutriants from water, shed skin cells, ect.
Arsenal: sport target blaster pistol & holdout blaster pistol
Fighting Style: He knows a type that is usually a slower moving type to help keep one's balance and deleberat movements so one has awarenesss of one's body. He also plays various video games & training programs to keep his hand eye coordination good, as well as some full body stuff. He does some gymnastics, he learned in collage, so he is more graceful then the average gungan, though not of the olympic champion level a gungan who focused on just gymnastics could be. He's taken some basic martial arts, but has no jedi style training.
Force Abilities: (Generally severely limited)
He's had no training so far. He has, unknowingly, some abilities, like being able to speak some languages that should be very hard or not possible like fluent wookie.
Also he has a knack with being great as a marksman. Not knowing he slightly taps into the force to use these since he has had no training.
History: He had a regular gungan type upbringing. Discovered that he was good with pistols, and learned those, found he had an unusal knack at being a marksman with other sorts of weapons once he got the feel of them. Decided to do some competing and got a scholarship to go to a university. He used this to further his education in various areas. All he knows of the force is the stories he heard of some jedi who came to Naboo before the empire existed.
Other Notes: He has been to the quivalant of an university so he can speak normal standard instead of the usual method of most gungans. Thoug he can speak like a regular gungan if he wants.
