Title: Introducing myself, a LBT Fan, and a huge fan of animation
Post by: Sergeant Burker on June 30, 2018, 02:52:37 AM
Hello folks from worldwide of the Land Before Time community,
I am Sergeant Burker, but call me Frank if you wish to, I don't mind.

I am a guy from Slovakia, living in England, but has a huge respect for America, who's not willing to mention his age, who aspires to create something to respect all of animation, but about me first, in ultra detail...

I was introduced to the Land Before Time when I was a toddler, and I can remember watching it for the first time from my Grandma's VHS player. And ever since then, I had a huge following to dinosaurs in general, and was a huge fan of the series, having watched everything from it for those next few years(To this day, I have watched all films and TV series episodes). And even after watching such great films like Watership Down and the Plague Dogs, unfinished masterpieces like the Thief and the Cobbler, and such hybrid classics like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Land Before Time still remains as my favorite animated film(Watership Down and 9(2009) come second and third). I watch it every few months on my laptop, and is still holding up on that position.

I'm also a huge fan of animated shows in general, liking such stuff like Ren and Stimpy, Looney Tunes, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, and my all-time favorite: Over the Garden Wall. Even obscure shows like Space Goofs and Nu Pogodi.

I'm also a fantastic video editor, using nothing but Movie Maker(One example here: https://streamable.com/8axe4).

I am also working on a concept, a concept for an animated show. It's about a scientist travelling through the dimensions to stop anomalies from popping up in parts, even his own, while maintaining a normal daily life. But here's the catch: everybody is a humanoid and sentient archosaurid, all living in a modern day era in an alternative Earth universe. I've got 5 seasons planned, an episode line-up, over 200 characters developed,  characters having their designs in the works, and even a huge voice cast to hire(Yes, so expect some of your favorite LBT Voice Actors to possibly be in this).

I have known about GOF, aka the Gang of Five since about 2013 and so, and because I was bored lately, I decided to join.

And I wanted to add this for extra but I think I can remember something from my Grandma's VHS of the LBT which didn't make sense; parts of the film were switched about around the end, if I can recall. Not sure if this was something which I should know of, but I could have guessed it may have something to do with your Holy Grail of the uncut version of the original 1988 Land Before Time? Maybe I am just remembering things wrong. After all, I do have autism, but everybody has a little bit of autism, eh?

I guess that's all I can say about myself folks. And I would be willing to talk about my concept, and share some of my work.
Cheers!

Welcome to the forum, officer! :D

Would like if you remember and explain what did you saw on your LBT VHS. :D Maybe I will have to free Finland and storm Slovakia instead. XD

Well fellow member, all I can say is that most of the film was the same if I can remember when I watched it on DVD years later. But I don't remember there being a shadow when Mama Longneck was attacked by the Sharptooth, or the ending where Littlefoot finds the Great Valley at the very end. Instead, the Sharptooth attack just continued, instead of being a shadow, and the Mountains that Burn scene at first just cut to Littlefoot discovering the Great Valley. That's for now what I can remember from that VHS. If you're wondering about it, it still exists. When I last visited my homecountry, back in Halloween of last year, I attempted to get it running on the VHS player my Grandma owns. But all that came out was audio.
:(petrie

So yeah. That's all what I can say for now.
Still I'd like to see one day these scenes again, in some form out there.

Well, it's nothing much. I'm not seeking for attention in that, just for my work. I'd be willing to make a post on the forum about the concept, plus two others I have in mind.
Plus, want me to post in the outcut scenes discussion board? Maybe I shouldn't. It hasn't even been posted in a while.

If you are interested in my concept, just MSG me or reply.

Welcome Sergeant. Judging from the pic in your sig, you're either a big fan of the Joker, or of Batman the animated series. Glad to have you aboard. If you like roleplaying, we have a whole section dedicated to it, both LBT-related and roleplays open to just about anything.  Feel free to join an existing rp, or start your own!

Welcome Sergeant. Judging from the pic in your sig, you're either a big fan of the Joker, or of Batman the animated series.

Well yes I am.

Batman is obviously the best DC hero out there, aka, the best comic book superhero. Screw Marvel's MCU;
The DCAU is awesome. Plus the Burton Batman films.

Also, I have plans to hire Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy as supporting characters for my concept. I could post an entire list of my who-to hire cast list. If you wanted...

 :add

If you want to read about the concept,(just the synopsis for now, will expand on talking about it if questions are asked):

If You want to join, just post in the Discussion thread for the Rp, and let me know what characters you'll be playing as. theres loads of rogues , like Inque, to choose From. I'll bring up the Discussion thread ( it hasnt been posted in in awhile) and just post there if you want to join.

Not feeling like rping.

Speaking OF B:TAS: https://streamable.com/35fzh
Basically, the LEGO version of the intro using clips from the opening of LEGO Batman 1.

Plus, Conroy and Hamill are to reprise their roles in the upcoming LEGO DC game.

This means no more Troy Baker and Christopher Corey Smith.

Sometime in October. Mid October I believe, between 14-17th I think?
Plus, my birthday is around that time. So that's perfect timing for a huge DC fan like me.
I plan to get the entire Batman: The Animated Series series on DVD for my birthday.
I'm not the Netflix kind of guy, the DVD collector kind of guy. I have an entire wardrobe full of my DVDs.

I don't know if I should post my to-hire list.

Title: Re: Introducing myself, a LBT Fan, and a huge fan of animation

probably not. unless you hit like a 500M dollar lottery, you could never afford to hire all of them anyway.

I know, considering I have like, over fifty cast members to-hire for the supporting cast, and ten for the principal cast(not including myself). It's all in my head; it's better if I'm the casting director, not some random douchebag who doesn't know real talent. It's my intention who I want to hire, I am the creator of this concept. I know who's good. I love voice actors a lot, they're very high value to me.
 :(petrie

But hey, what do I know? I'm in highschool now, and my school is attempting to get someone from the industry to help me out with my concept. This month to be exact. Maybe I'm going a bit off-topic.

P.S, I have an entire episode planned with only one cast member in it, so, not all of my to-hire list would have to be all be in one whole episode(5 seasons are planned). It's varied judging on the amount of characters. Although most of them would be in my planned pilot episode. In mind folks. I'm not serious with my potential cast yet, apart from myself.

I could tell you who I'd like to hire via private MSG, if that's possible?

And by the way, I do enjoy LBT XIII.

It's not the best, but it had a good ending. So no need for a LBT 14 there; it felt like a proper ending to the franchise. Yet the end of LBT 14 did feel like one as well.

Great, my parents are now being abusive to me, because I speak in a combination of dialects, which include Mid Atlantic, Brooklyn, Western, Southern, Russian, and Yiddish. My dad threatened to beat me up. And even after he apologized, I wouldn't accept it. I really dislike the British accent(Not every dialect, Thomas and Friends has good dialects in there which I can easily impersonate), especially the Queen's English.

It's hard being an outcast at school. I'm often rejected due to my interests in animation and such other media and topics. I often feel like I'm an outcast in the family due to my dreams. My parents don't even support me.

I feel like I'm, useless to them. I can never live up to their expectations.  :(petrie  :(petrie  :(petrie  :(petrie :(petrie

Hey Frank,

Welcome to the GoF! Hope things will look up for you soon. I think many of us were outcasts in their school/family, but you should be proud of being different rather than feel sad about it. You're unique, you're YOU! And that's amazing :)

Anyway, if that's true, I recommend you to record this VHS on digital video (my dad used simple digital camera to record all our VHS collection over 100 cassetes), because it's piece of platinum.

Would like to see or just listen it! *winks*

Yeah, my family’s been rather tepid about me liking LBT because they don’t remember me having seen it as a kid (how that’s possible totally boggles my mind. For a little bit there, they also weren’t terribly fond of me being into dinosaurs independent of being into LBT for reasons that I don’t really know, as they do remember me having always loved dinosaurs), but I really don’t give a darn. I will always love dinosaurs and LBT regardless of what anyone thinks!

My family respects the fact I love dinosaurs and the LBT. Why would they even allow me to keep 438 dinosaur toys?

My family is back to being cool with me loving dinosaurs (I knew that time would come rather quickly, as they love dinosaurs themselves), and I think they’re warming up to me liking LBT. I’m sure they’ll be cool with that if I can somehow prove that I grew up with LBT, as they’re also cool with me linking other movies from my childhood, such as The Lion King.

Too bad my folks won't accept the theory that some show called In the Night Garden... is actually an allegory for a lonely, dying castaway out at sea, and he either hallucinates, goes to purgatory or the afterlife, or is having a dream as he slowly passes on. They say it's offensive. But I believe it because it makes a ton of sense in the show's context.
