Role Play Discussion / Shattered Skies over Toonworld

This idea festered in my head for a few days, so I decided to lay it down on the table to see if anyone's interested.
It's mostly a pilot-type story line, though you could have non-pilots in the RP. The setting is 2020 AD, and at this time most fights are between private companies & mercenaries rather than just nations. Some examples of such groups, that we could use:
Private Military Contractors
LexCorp (Superman)
Xanatos Enterprises (Gargoyles)
Khan Industries (TaleSpin)
Cyberbiotics Corp (Gargoyles)
The Flying Legion (Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow)
Criminal/Terrorist Organizations
Hydra (Captain America)
Cobra (G.I. Joe)
Air Pirates (TaleSpin)
Skull Squadron (Ring Raiders)
Quarrymen (Gargoyles)
Red Claw (Batman)
Kabai Sang Pirates (The Phantom)
Volunteer Defense Groups
S.H.I.E.L.D. (The Avengers)
Ring Raiders (Ring Raiders)
G.I. Joes (G.I. Joe)
ANY planes are allowed: Active, retired, in development, cancelled, & fictional.
Any characters (FC & OC) are allowed, and you can have as many as you can handle.
Once we get enough RPer's interested, we can make plans as to how and where to start the story...

I remembered the first dog I ever wanted was a Borzoi, though I wasn't sure what kind of dog it was until I was 15. When I was little, I wanted a dog just like Boris, from Disney's Lady & the Tramp. At 15, I found out Boris was a Borzoi. The only other breeds I ever liked as a child were a Siberian Husky (my grandmother had one) and a St Bernard (also from Disney cartoons).

Elsewhere, near a line of barren trees, another soul stirred from the snow. A little mouse woke with a start, breathing heavily and waiting for his heartbeat to settle. Sitting up on his knees, he held his arms and shivered, as snowfall began around him. He looked around nervously at the foreboding surroundings, and it took him a while to get to his feet and hurry to one of the closest trees. There was nothing to hide within, but the exposed roots provide some protection from the wind.
As he sat down and shivered, it dawned on him that somehow he was very far from home in New York City, and if he is in fact alone, he might not be able to return. He also began to sob as he tries to keep warm...
