Note: Spoilers in this post.

7 hours into this game, and how do I feel so far?  This game is AWESOME!!  I absolutely love it and I shall play it to the end, despite it being harder than the other two.  Yes, this is the hardest of the three games.  The Reapers are not messing around here.  You need to use strategy if you wish to get through the first real mission.

The only thing I'm disliking is how a number of your former crew is conveniently preoccupied.  The one you saved back on Virmire is nearly killed in the first team mission.  Thane is retired and is helping the sick in his last days.  As for Jack, she's teaching biotic students how to use their powers to fight in a war. (To me, that pretty much came out of left field.  She doesn't seem like the teaching type to me.) At least I have Liara and Garrus on the team.  I always did like them.

As for the new recruits, I like them to some extent.  I'm surprised EDI is part of the field team now.  Her Decoy move definitely comes in handy.  James is the bad@$$ tough guy you can't help but love.

That's as far as I am now.  I'll definitely play more tomorrow.  For now, I need rest.

Just one thing.  Tactical Cloak and Biotic powers REALLY come in handy.  Trust me, you'll be thankful for them by the end of this game.

For now, see ya later!

I have played and enjoyed Mass Effect 3 very much.

PROS:
*Overall a great story. Except for one part which I'll get to in the CONS section.
*Great characters and relationships that develop.
*Sense of accomplishment when you do something the way you want it to.
*Great soundtrack.
*Multiplayer is a great addition.
*The Illusive Man and Kai Leng are some of the best villains in any video game.

CONS:
*Occasionally glitchy graphics.
*The ENDINGS. I know that Bioware has DLC planned to further tell the story, but COME ON ALREADY. Don't give us that feeling that everything we've done in all three games just doesn't matter.

FINAL WORD:
Early contender for Game of the Year.

10 out of 10

I did not like the ending either.  However, aside from that and some control issues, this is definitely the best game thus far for the year.  It is indeed a contender for Game of the Year.  Just like the two before it.

Yet, what I'm more disappointed by is how much of a fuss some fans have made over the endings.  Some have said it's the worst game they've played just because of that.  Seriously guys, get over yourselves!

I guess one thing that ticks me off is the fact that they cut out a whole bunch of the story surrounding a prothean and selling it as DLC.  I don't blame BioWare in this case, I blame the EA corporate machine for that.  Thanks to the marketing bastards I'm gonna wait until the end of the year, buy a hard copy for 30 bucks used and then buy the DLC.  It's just not worth it right now.  It's not worth buying a game new for 60 bucks let alone 75.  But I was considering buying ME3 new because of how much content there would be.  That's even more discouraging to me I think.

One plus with waiting a bit or getting games that are not brand new is they are often cheaper, plus the hardware needed to run the games are often cheaper also.  & if you are stuck there may well be a lot of help online.

I heard that the Prothean part of the game was ALREADY ON THE DISC. And all it took for it to not be DLC was to erase some coding that's embedded on the disc. Wow. I also don't blame Bioware for that, I'm blaming the money greedy people over at EA for making something that's on the disc something you have to spend an additional 10 dollars for. Shame on them.

I actually wanna go through the whole series again with a different class. I'm thinking the Vanguard, simply because the Biotic Charge attack in ME2 and ME3 is JUST TOO DAMN AWESOME.

Okay, I just found an interesting article that, if the theory is correct, makes me actually like the whole story and completely accept it.  What is that theory you ask?  That the whole thing in Mass Effect 3 was a lie and it was actually a hallucination brought on by Harbinger of the Reapers.

Sound crazy?  Check out the article for all the clues found by one gamer.

If this is the truth, then bring us the real game, Bioware.  We have reapers to kill! :)

Except the end the game is ok. It is a shooter like ME2 but that is forgivable. There are epic moments like Mordins death or the peace on Rannoch, but at the end this is all for nothing.
I am somebody who needs a victory-option, but here nothing matters and there is every time destruction and every color choice feels like a loss. As described in the BSN it is with every choice the beginning of a galactic dark age.
And for what do I have to collect war assets? Only to get the green choice to create an universe full of Borg or to get a sequence where the earth isn't destroyed? (Although with regard to the Arrival-DLC it is possible that the shockwave of the mass relay explosion also destroys earth.)

I just finished the game yesterday and got a relatively positive ending which is fine. I chose to Destroy the Reapers in the end seeing as that as the goal right from the get go. I'm not gonna go into the logistics of how I got there. But my big question is why so many people dislike the ending? What exactly has made people turn against such an incredible franchise. I for one did not find anything wrong with it and found it quite pleasing to obtain. I know there are 7 different options but what specifically don't people like? Is it something it shows? Something not explained? Or was it moreso on the decisions and thus the ending you received at the end? I did a little researching into this and it seems like the biggest issue is the lack of variety in the endings. I.e. a different coloured explosion depending on which option you picked. That and the fact that apart from the odd subtle change, the endings are pretty much similar. I get that seems like a cheap way for getting you to replay the game for an alternative endings but there's gotta be more to it than that.

I need someone to tell me why the ending is hated so much coz clearly I'm missing something others are seeing. Anyone prepared to shed some light on this?

According to what I know, it's more of the endings having left them questions.  Basically, it has plot holes in several areas.  Not to mention that the whole ending feels unfinished to many.

However, I feel that because of the nature of the endings, many approached this problem in the wrong way.  Simply, if you are confused about the ending, you shouldn't ask for it to be changed, you should ask for it to be EXPLAINED!

However, the problem is that they felt they controlled the story because of how well done the "choice" narrative was done.  However, what they forget is that the story is basically a "Choose Your Own Adventure" Book made into a game.  The endings are still predetermined and they have no control over it.

In short, they're basically confused and upset and are approaching the way to solve the problem the wrong way.

I'm not involving myself mainly because I got my explanation from the fans who figured it out.  The problem though is that those asking for a change just simply don't believe the theory which was given.

Again, fans doing things fans should NOT do.  It's a serious problem here. -_-

I agree. The ending really didn't have enough closure to the story or the characters. And it only left me with more questions than answers. Hopefully the upcoming extended ending should fix that.

Mass Effect 2 and 3 came to XBox One Backwards Compatibility a month ago and I just recently finished them again.  However, I must express my disappointment in one area.

It seems that the transition didn't work well because both games have glitches in them.  One glitch in Mass Effect 2 got me stuck just as I was about to finish the mission. (My own obsession of being an overachiever at this game, having me search every nook and cranny for everything, is partly at fault here.) This in turn forced me to go back to the last save point, which made me face the "boss" of that mission.

However, Mass Effect 3 is off the charts in glitches.  We have characters not loading, (Sure they're there, but you don't see them.) Shepard looking the wrong way and freeze points.  However, one I must at all costs welcome is one glitch I ran into by pure accident.

Bottom line, I hate Brutes!  I hate them with a passion!  It takes a lot of bullets to kill them and melee attacks are useless. (In fact, it hurts you to do a melee attack on them.) So when I can exploit the game with a glitch, it makes them more tolerable.  Basically speaking, I was able to despawn one on the Tuchunka mission where you have to dispense the cure for the genophage.  It actually registered as me killing it.  I praised that glitch when it happened.

Too bad I can't say the same for Banshees.  They are evil incarnate in my eyes.  There are no known glitches to get rid of them.  Good luck when you face two of them near the end.

So yeah, enjoy those glitches until they can fix this.  I guess this can be an excuse to not bring a game to XBox One Backwards Compatibility.
