Here's a fun little game idea I thought of: Since fanfic writers often have pairings in thier stories, and sometimes the pairings are unique, here's a game idea:
One poster makes up a completely random LBT pairing (It doesn't have to make sense, it can be crazy), and the next poster says what they think it'd be like.
I'll start:

As far as the PetrieXRuby pairing, I think Ruby would protect Petrie from predators and help him stay strong. Petrie would look out for Ruby by flying and keeping watch of Sharpteeth. However, they are different species. :p lol

That is a distinct possibility, although Rhett views Ali as a helpless female who constantly needs to be rescued, while Littlefoot views her as more of an equal... at least, more than Rhett does.

This one would seem odd at first, but would work out in the end, because they have complementary characters. Ruby is less impulsive (and less likely to do something obviously foolish), but also more calculating and more reluctant, while Cera has an easier time getting things done, but can make great blunders. Both are smart, so I think they would figure out they fit each in this way rather quickly.

I think that their personalities are rather compatible actually. Littlefoot is curious about the world, whereas Ruby has seen much of the world because of her upbringing in the Mysterious Beyond. Also her cautious, calculating nature would probably work well with Littlefoot's mannerisms. If the Littlefoot/Cera shippers are correct, however, then Cera might veto that idea. :lol

This would not work out well. Perhaps Ruby would be tempted to manipulate him at first, but would get fed up with his weak character and leave him not a long time after. Although, Strut does have something redeeming about him that might make Ruby stay, and that is that Strut is a genuinely communicative and funny person. Something which some other LBT characters definitely aren't.

I think there would be a chance Ruby could, or at the very least, further improve his character post-LBTIII (or post-tv series.) If we're talking Hyp as he appeared at the beginning of LBTIII, then I imagine there would be some hurdles to overcome, but they may be able to manage.
