Anybody watched FW? I used to watch it as a youngster and I still love it now, I feel it somehow apeals to adults too as it can sometimes be seen as very serious and very sad when a member of the group dies  :cry

anyone seen any episodes?

Unfortunately I watched not all of the sequels and missed the other ones. It was even translated to German.
The animals of Farthing Wood is one of the very, very few cases in which I consider a movie better than the book (which I read). I'm especially fond of the absolutely crazy and horrible Weasel in the movie. It would be difficult to make such a character likeable in a book.

In the book, Weasel was number one, male, and two much more serious. ;)  She was very goofy in the tv series.  I've seen the entire second season...I'm still awaiting the day someone makes a dvd of it so I can get it over here in the US.  I still haven't finished the original book (they just escaped the barn) but I plan to over Christmas once all my classes are done. :)

In the German version the Weasel was a male. I think it would've been quite difficult to make a character likeable in a book who is laughing and goofing around while his friends are in mortal danger. As I said I have sadly not watched all the sequels, yet I did read all of the books.

^ It would probably also be hard for someone to picture someone so goofy in a book. ;)  I was actually surprised how many characters were changed to female for the series-Kestrel, Owl, Weasel, Adder, and I can only think that such a thing happened because there were so few female characters in the original book.

Well, actually no, the first series was not shown in the US.  That "American" remake isn't the real thing....
