Title: LBT Merchandise That You Own
Post by: Phantom on July 19, 2013, 11:31:06 PM
As far as the movies go, I have the box set of VHSs for 1-4, VHSs and DVDs of the rest, except for one. I'm looking to get a LBT cel from the original movie eventually, as well as some Pizza Hut toys. I have a Spike plushie (with a spider in his mouth for some reason), several LBT storybooks and magic coloring books, some computer games, and lots of junky stuff (stickers, coloring sheets, etc). I had a toy Ducky that did flips, but I sold it. If I remember anything else, I'll add it.
What about you guys?

I had (or do I still have?) a ducky and littlefoot plushie from yeaaaaaaars ago, but I think the ducky disappeared at my grandparents, and the littlefoot I have no idea :,(

I have LBT 1-5 and 7-8 on VHS and LBT 9-11 on DVD (Had 6 recorded on a VHS but idk what happened to it)

Oh and a 27x40 Land Before Time poster from allposters.com :D. It's BEAST!  :wow

Oh and a 1994 burger king littlefoot toy. I had one like 10 years ago, but it disappeared as well. So I bought a new one about half a year ago, and now it stands proudly with my other newly bought animal figurines :)

And a side note; i recorded the music from all the movies and so now it's in high-def in my music library xD

You mean you have the soundtrack?
. . .
It would be a shame if you were to . . . Accidentally send it to me.
I'm sure Universal would be MOST displeased!
hm-hm-hm
Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-
If you know what I mean.

Sorry for double post; my phone is being difficult, so I can't edit properly.
I have a VHS of LBT 7 in Japanese . . . Or maybe it's Korean . . . Or Chinese . . . Anyways, it's foreign.

I have the original LBT on both VHS and DVD as well as the DTV DVD's. But the best thing I own was found a few years ago at a flea market. LBT bedsheets? Oh yes. Just browsing the various venders' looking for antique perfume bottles and glassware when I found one booth that had various items from times past. A complete, mint in package, twin bed set of fitted and flat sheets and pillow case. I hoped for a comforter but so what? The GoF on my bed!  :DD Can't get better than that.

They're now stored away for my six-year old niece who's so into dinosaurs and loves LBT thanks to auntie. :)

Hmm... I played the PS1 version at someone's house like 6 years ago mebe. I was kind of sad though because while I knew all about the series and stuff, they were just these little nearly toddler kids who owned it and played it. I think their mom just got it for them because it looked 'fun and ok for children' rather than any affinity for the LBT series.

Eh but still lol

Yes they did. The woman who sold them to me said JC Penney had a whole line of LBT decor from bedding to wall decals, even lamps.  She remembers getting drapes for her grandkids' rooms. :wow
This was back in the late 80s into early 90s. These are times I wish for a time machine, then I could take a photo and have the real Gof! :lol

I actually own several of the sheet sets, plus the curtains and the valences. I keep buying them to one day make a "project" but it hasn't happened yet.

I also have the lamp, wall decals, and the wall clock that went with the JCPenney dÈcor.

I do have the Littlefoot plush too!

Also, I have the 1988 figures, perhaps they were cake toppers, and the Pizza hut puppets and the promotional pin set too.

The best part of my collection is the cel with background from the final scene of the first movie, number 191 of 300, framed and mounted

Still looking for the wall paper border, gift wrap, alarm clock, mobile, standee and comforter at a reasonable price.

Thanks, I just discovered the gift wrap on eBay last week, but really don't want to pay $40 for roll I would just use a keepsake. The last couple of times the wall paper border was up for grabs, a 3 ft roll went for $80

To this day I still have the six Pizza Hut rubber toys from the 1980s (the main five, plus Sharptooth).  They are sitting in my entertainment center.  Besides them, I own the original soundtrack by James Horner.  My DVD copy is part of the animated films package that includes An American Tail and Balto since I like them too.

I have movie 4, which we've had since it first came out, practically, and an old VHS of old Disney movies and the original film. I erased all the disney stuff, but kept the original LBT.

To my horror, though, the credits get cut off after the first chorus of "If We Hold On Together"!  :cry

Also, when I was REALLY young---I've told about this in my story---I remember us having a few pages from an LBT book that was apparently the original---one was a picture of Cera's dad with her and Littlefoot, and him telling her that threehorns didn't play with longnecks, and the other was Littlefoot, Ducky, Spike and Petrie covered in tar and laughing at (offscreen) Cera.

Also, I briefly owned some pages back two Aprils ago, in 2012, from an LBT book mom decorated my room with. She was so pissed with me after I'd spent all of a spring break family trip on computer, and than snuck on when we got home, that she was that pissed, saying, "But you must love it!"

As of right now I have:

The films 1-8 on VHS in clamshell cases
Two copies of the original film in cardboard slipcovers
Two copies of the original film on DVD (one came in a three-pack with An American Tail and Balto)
A Cera fast food toy from 1997

And most recently, while I was at a thrift store finding another original release VHS, I just happened to find a Petrie plush!  :smile Set me back about 50 cents.

This is just a LBT merchandise sighting, but a few years ago when I was visiting a family member at the hospital, one of the nurses came into the room, and guess what she was wearing? Land Before Time scrubs!  :wow

I have the first movie on VHS and DVD, and movie 4 as a MC. Recently I discovered that the cover was gone. Then it came in handy that I know how to print exact sizes and stuff. It has it's cover again. :D

Then I have 4 production cels (http://fav.me/d7dtui0), from the scene where Cera jumps and Petrie falls into the mud and can't get out by himself.

And that's it, sadly. No figurines or plushies. But I'm trying to get my hands on one of these two already.^^

And I'll print me 2 posters soon, maybe even in a big size, since I have both pictures in high resolution. One is a generic Ducky (http://fav.me/d7ff4o1) and the other one is Ali looking weird (http://fav.me/d7bqf0k). xD

But I guess I have to remove something for that on my walls. They're pretty full already. xD

I recently found those two:

According to their tags they've been around in the stores where I found them for about 7 years. oO
Probably long forgotton under a huge pile of other plushies (that's where I found Ducky, at least.) xD
(But seriously, that store needs to organize some shelves. -.-)

They weren't easy to find either. Cera was, but Ducky...well they said another store of the same chain had 2 more, but no idea who exactly. To get there..it took me a while, and I could only hope that I wouldn't do this for nothing.
It was it worth and maybe I'll even find that Littlefoot that belonged to the series. Who knows.

Oh, and btw: I found the Littlefoot and Cera plushies on amazon, but the prices are far from reasonable: Littlefoot used 40Ä and Cera new 90Ä. Store price is 15Ä. Just saying. ;)

I don't have much yet (I'm still quite new to collecting memorabilia from this film) but I do have an old VHS copy - not the first edition, sadly! - and an old LBT activity book from around the time of the first film called "Littlefoot's Adventures", which I used to love as a child and recently bought after tracking down another copy.  I'm scanning that book now for archival purposes, and I can upload it later if anyone would like to see it! :)

I managed to get my hands on a Littlefoot Plush. It's not the one from the 2007 series, but one from 1997 (so kind of rare I think) and it's him in the Hatching Pose.

Have some pics:

I don't really have any special or unique LBT merchandise, but I wanted to post in here regardless, as I think this would be a good time to share the story of how I wound up with four DVD copies of the first film. :D :P

Many years ago, my family owned the original Land Before Time on VHS, although it's long gone now. I'm guessing it was either sold at a garage sale, donated/sold to a video store or something, or else it just got lost during my family's move to a different home, but I don't know for sure what happened to it. I did also wonder if it might still be tucked away in a dusty old storage box at my step-mother's house. I was certainly hoping my old childhood VHS would still be there, even if I doubted it. But, alas, my step-mother checked for me and she didn't find it.

Either way, when I watched the film for the first time as an adult, I checked out a DVD copy from my local library. Of course, then I fell in love with the film and wanted to own it again, so I purchased a copy from Amazon soon after. However, once I got my copy, I ended up being a bit disappointed with it. For it turned out that, unlike the one I'd rented from the library, this was not the "Anniversary Edition" release from 2003 celebrating the movie's 15th anniversary. Rather, my copy was a more recent DVD release from 2015.

Since I realized that I wanted the Anniversary Edition, I ordered another DVD.
:PCera

But it ended up being the one that I wanted.
:chompysmile

Now up to this point, it was only the first film that I owned and had watched recently. Soon after, however, is when I joined this very forum, and not long after that is when I decided I should see the rest of the films as well. So I ordered the 14-film DVD set (which also includes its own copy of the 2015 LBT 1 DVD).

It's a pretty nice set. :) Although I did find it a little strange that the cover features Etta, of all characters, alongside the rest of the main cast. Flathead770 joked that it makes her look like the 8th main character. :p Even Ruby's inclusion I thought was a bit odd, as this set doesn't include any of the TV episodes, and her only other appearance is a relatively small one in the 14th film. I guess they were just featured because #14 is still the newest film, and because Ruby is officially part of the Gang now, even if that was only really established in the TV series.

Alas, a few months ago, my Secret of Saurus Rock/Stone of Cold Fire DVD got chipped after I used it inside my computer, and now it doesn't work properly.
:(petrie

So then I ordered another 14-film set as a replacement.
:PCera

In hindsight, I realize that I could've just ordered an individual Saurus Rock/Cold Fire double feature DVD and it would've been cheaper. Although on the other hand, now I have extra DVDs of the other films as well in case another one of my copies gets damaged. Indeed, I haven't yet unwrapped my newer 14-film DVD set and am currently keeping it in reserve.

But anyway, so why did I want to own the Anniversary Edition specifically? It's because of a little moment here on the DVD menu (which isn't on the 2015 DVD).

On the 'Bonus Materials' section, it plays the music from when Littlefoot and Ducky first meet each other (at 0:50 of "Foraging For Food" on the OST), one of my favourite cues in the film. Combined with the image, it was very emotional for me. There's been multiple occasions when I would open up this part of the menu just to listen to the music and see the dinosaurs embracing each other.

If you watch the film proper, it automatically takes you to this submenu after the credits. I distinctly remember one time in particular after I had just watched the film, whereupon I was already feeling emotional, and then coming to the submenu, which only brought on even more feels.

An interesting story for sure Stardust :p Funnny enough I also have the anniversary copy of the first film and the 14 box set (with LBT 13 not working for me). I also had another copy of the first movie on DVD as well because my brother bought me it randomly for my birthday not knowing that I already owned it. That's ok though because I gave that copy to my friend's son to enjoy. My parents might still have my VHS copy but not really sure.

Ah, was it the 2015 release?

Also, was your LBT 13 copy never working? Or did it used to work but then it broke down one day?

I don't remember, though the one that I kept around is the anniversary edition.

It's the one that's part of the 14 box set. I was going through all of them taking screenshots of all the menus for Hypno and found out that it didn't work haha

A surprise I found in the cabinets under the TV in my living room during the days that Optimum was experiencing a service outage.

It is an interesting find, especially considering that VHS was before my time! :ChomperOhhh

What a pity... I owned few VHS myself when I was younger, and I think I still have them somewhere collecting dust. I wouldn't be able to watch them anymore as I no longer possess a VHS recorder and the chances of finding one at this time and age are pretty slim. :(

I believe this is everything TLBT-related that I own. I used to have every movie from 1 to 11 on VHS, but I'm not sure what I did with most of them (probably inadvertently sold them).

Ah cool, you have that Cera cover of the first movie! Nice :)

I own very little of LBT these days as I have considerably downsized all my "stuff" (minimalism yay). However I still have my big Cera plush and I don't think that's going anywhere (the little one is gone though):

I just remembered that I also have some TLBT PC games somewhere. I need to try and find them.

Now I don't have any LBT merchandise specifically however I do have a Wendy's Journey To the Center Of The Earth 2008 T Rex which is pretty much a repaint of their Sharptooth toy.
