Title: A Brand-New Watcher!
Post by: Fyn16 on January 07, 2017, 11:05:56 PM
Greetings, my fellow Land Before Time fans!

So, thanks to a suggestion from Rhombus, I started watching the Land Before Time TV series. In fact, I'm very nearly finished with it. I've got some good things, and some negative things to say about it, but I intend to hold off until I'm completely done. I will say that I got more than I bargained for thus far. I was expecting something a bit "dumbed down," but instead got a kids' show with some surprising variation and quality in it! Overall, I've enjoyed my time with the series. I'll be posting again as soon as I'm finished for the full report.

Looking forward to your fresh impressions on the series, Fyn16! :yes
Also... We get it, ADFan185 - you don't like the TV series. This is like the third of the fourth topic this week you left a comment on saying that it was terrible, insultingly stupid, lacked any kind of effort put into it and noone should watch it. Yes, thank you, your opinion have been heard. Now please stop defiantly spitting on something some people here on the Land Before Time fans message board obviously liked. <_<

Well said Coyote  <_<

While some episodes were indeed a bit cringeworthy, there were also others which were done really well. If they had put more effort into it, it could have been a great series for sure. The way it was made, I'd rate it moderate to good but some episodes beat the more boring sequels for sure :p

For me the only real problem with the TV series were the songs, but I also failed to see the point to many of them in the sequels. LBT was by no means a musical and I'm not sure why they tried to make every installment in the series since then into one... With that said however, some of them are kinda catchy and I do find myself humming "Big Big Water" or "Friends for Dinner" to myself sometimes. :D

Oh, 90% of the songs in the sequels are awesome imo :lol In the tv-series though, they just sounded cheap and boring... the instrumentation wasn't good and the lyrics... mostly decent but that's just that. They should have brought one good song instead of 3, 2 of which were usually cringeworthy... at least!

That I can agree with I really enjoyed a ton of the sequel songs. They where really great and a ton of the sequels are actually decent with actual effort put into them. And yes the songs from the tv series and episodes are cringeworthy but like only a couple episodes where okay In my opinion. There's only one good song in it. And if people actually like this tv series for some reason than that's good. I don't have a issue with people liking it. If it makes you happy than awesome glad you found Some enjoyment out of it.

Yes, but the thing is, people don't need to keep hearing on how much you hate the series. You've already made your point; all you have to do now is contribute to the discussion in other ways (which is possible).
