Saw it today with my brothers. All three of us LOVED it. We’re thinking of going back to see it again. :p

Not only was the film visually spectacular beyond adjectives (even using the following emoticon to describe it feels like an understatement: :wow), but the effort the filmmakers went into to create a believable alien world was astonishing (and admirable as well).

This is definitely one of the best movies I've seen this year. :yes

Pronounced "pan-JEE-uh". Spelled with three A's. Represented by a Lystrosaurus.

I saw this movie back in December. I gotta say I wasn't surprised how amazing of a movie this was. I mean we are talking about James Cameron, the genious behind Terminator, Titanic, and Alien! Sure this is his first movie since Titanic but still. It was pure movie genious from start to finish.

To me, I might hire it out on DVD when it's released then as I already want to see two other movies in the cinemas, Sherlock Holmes and The Princess and the Frog.....and I'm poor enough as it is :lol

Actually, James Cameron had nothing to do with the original Alien movie. The first Alien movie was directed by Ridley Scott. Cameron was not even part of the casting for the first movie. It was Aliens, the first sequel, that James Cameron directed.

Words cannot describe how amazing this movie was to me. And to see it in 3D almost literally blew my mind...afterwards however I was ranting for several hours that seeing the movie in 2D would do the audience no justice what-so-ever. But everyone I've seen it with will agree, it IS movie of the year, hands down. Now I know that is alot considering that it is only the beginning of 2010, but until I see another movie with the same stunning visuals and textures, my opinion stands as is. Avatar = Movie of the Year. :lol

I've yet to actually see Avatar but I've heard all the ranting and raving over it from day dot. For a movie to be "15 years in the making", that's a pretty gutsy statement but everyone I've spoken to rates the movie top notch. I will get around to seeing Avatar eventually and I remain pleasantly optimistic. As for Movie of the Year...well, we'll see ;)

I just got back from seeing it with a friend.
I liked it in many ways, but I have really nothing more to say.
The media has overblown it though; it was not as good as it was foretold in my opinion.
Still, I was stunned part-wise. Pandora was AWESOME!
Do well. Live well. And dress very well.

Here's a quick review I wrote on my Facebook page:

This film was excellent: the plot was derivative, but not enough so that it fails to carve out its own identity. The visuals and 3-D were incredible, and I greatly enjoyed thy fact that James Cameron created Pandora, a world that is more or less plausible, especially when considering that the planet itself is a consciousness, making the film seem that much more real. The villians' stauntch imperialistic natures are reminiscent of the actions of Britain and other European powers in the 17th and 18th century, and the fact that stories not too different from this actually occurred between Western settlers and American natives makes this a plot rooted in history. My only complaints would be that the dialogue was occasionally awkward or misplaced, and that the environmental message gets slightly out of hand for a second or two. Still, this is by far the greatest film of 2009, and proves that James Cameron, unlike some of his collegues, still has what it takes to create a resonating, feel-good blockbuster. Well done, sir!

Also, for those who think this is just Dancing with Wolves,
