The cement truck one was my favorite. laugh.gifYou whatched this one too, cool. That¥s my favourite under all the experiments they did :D ... well, the experiment with the biggest flyer out of paper wasn¥t bad at all. So funny :lol
As in tonight?:yes :yes :yes :yes :yes
I watched the new episode last night. I won't spoil it for anyone, but i will say what myths they tested:Yes they are :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol
- Some guys decide to go duck hunting at a frozen lake, but the lake is frozen so, in order to get the ducks to come, they try to remove some of the ice by throwing a stick of dynamite onto the lake. The dog, thinking it's a stick to fetch, retrieves the dynamite and brings it back. By the time the dog gets under the SUV the guys had, the dynamite explodes, killing the dog and causing the SUV to sink into the lake.
- If you're going to hit a moose with your car, your car will receive less damage if you speed up instead of slowing down.
- It is possible to get cabin fever if you are alone in a cabin for many days.
Again, I won't tell you the results, but I can say that those results are worth watching.
A new episode was on last night. One of the myths they tested was could you tenderize a low-grade steak with explosives. They also tried other methods like an air cannon and a drier with ball-bearings in it. The other myth they tested was is driving under stress less fuel-efficient than driving while calm.Yeah I watched it. It was a funny episode.
Another new episode was on last night. This time, they tested claims of the moon landing being faked. Among the claims they tested were if some of the pictures taken on the moon were taken in a studio, if some things like a boot print and a flag waving couldn't be done in a vacuum, and if the lunar gravity was simulated by slowing down the video. In my opinion, this episode was definitely worth watching. :yesDarn, that's one I wanted to watch. :( Forgot to.
I just submitted a myth idea to do at their website.I don't think it would work since they would have to be in a cooler and if you're int he middle of any where between the poles in spring, summer or fall they would melt so you would have to use them in winter but your target would have layers of clothes on so it would be impraticle. Just my thought though.
It's similar to the magic bullet myths from LONG ago, but it's about an ice dagger. The idea came from an episode of Walker, Texas Ranger, about an assassin that used daggers made of ice.
What do you guys think about it?
I saw it! Talk about a demolition derby. :lol Flipping over a bus, driving a car through various things, dropping a car from 4000 feet, and re-testing the compact compact myth, even going as far as using rockets to crush that car! That was an awesome episode! :wowYeah it was one of their best episodes ever!
So, long story short, the Mythbusters proved what people with common sense have been saying all along... Eh, not the first time they've done it.Actually WR, The Myth That the 1969 Moon Landing was Faked is rather believable when you look at the "evidence" the hoax presents. Even if you had common sense, there's a chance you would believe the lie.
Yeah, I'm surprised that it was the ice that added to the mass of the soda cup.I'll make the prediction of that one being Busted!
I'm very interested in seeing the next episode tomorrow. They're going to test if someone could survive an explosion by diving underwater. I can't wait to see how that turns out. :yes
I found the full episode on YouTube today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-X5Ylka1_s&feature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-X5Ylka1_s&feature=related)CRAP! They went and removed it due to copyright! Why must practically EVERY Entertainment company be Copyright Nazis? Don't they realize the damage they do to their shows by doing this?
Alright, back to Mythbusters, looks one of the myths they'll test on tonight's episode is if an excavator can be used like a giant paddle on a raft. This should be interesting.
If you want to see it on TV, it'll be on again on Sunday at 9 a.m. (yes, in the morning). I recommend you record it, which I plan on doing. Since I consider it one of my favorite episodes of any show on TV, I'll want to be able to watch it as many times as I want to. :DQuote from: The Chronicler,Oct 19 2011 on 02:00 PMI found the full episode on YouTube today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-X5Ylka1_s&feature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-X5Ylka1_s&feature=related)CRAP! I'm realizing now that my latest obsession is that 1-hour show hosted by Adam Savage about how someone can live forever. I think a major reason for this is that, even though the science behind it could become a reality someday, this show is set up more like a sci-fi movie than an actual documentary (complete with an awesome soundtrack). I searched again today and it looks like someone else has uploaded the episode just hours ago, this time in three parts. Since I don't expect it to stay for long, I'm still going to record the rerun on TV tomorrow morning. For those of you who haven't seen it yet but want to see it now, here's your chance: Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nzhxtm2O7oU) Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTex2QRSbog) Part 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4cxLwj1560)Not only is this episode still around, but it has now been set up and so that the company at hand can make money off of it when you watch it. Good job there, guys.
Did anybody see this week's episode? The myth tested was if it's possible to drive fast enough with square wheels to achieve a smooth ride. I couldn't stop laughing at every attempt they made to drive that truck with square wheels. :lol One of the funniest for me was when one of those square wheels fell off. :lol :lol This is definitely among my favorite episodes.I know what you mean. It was REALLY good. The Square Wheel Myth was one of the best things to take my mind off of my recent root canal. :)
Grant: “I didn’t know a banana was bad luck!”The other was the "Water Vs. Pavement" aftershow, a myth where Tory, Grant, and Kari dropped dead pigs out of a helicopter to see whether an impact on water is just as damaging as an impact on pavement from a great enough height. It turns out that in order to make sure the pigs hit their mark, Tory dropped oranges out of the helicopter; when Kari and Grant (who were on the ground) saw that the oranges were hitting the target, they knew Tory was in the right position. At one point, however, an orange landed only a few feet from Grant ("I almost took out one of my co-workers with an orange," in Tory's words). No laughing matter, to be sure, but a moment later Tory radioed Grant, and there was this exchange:
Tory: "Okay, ready for the pig?"
Grant: (screaming into the radio) "NO!"
Oh, and the other myth from this episode was that jumping into shallow water would be safer if you landed on a mattress. And you'd think that would actually be true, but seriously, shattered pelvis, broken spine and dislocated arms? And that was from the mattress? Ouch!
The myth on Mythbusters does not make sense. :lolWhich myth are you talking about? And what about it doesn't make sense? Could you please elaborate?
Okay, so the newest episode did indeed air yesterday and it was a special that revolved around The Simpsons. That sounds like a pretty awesome episode. I would have loved to see that. Unfortunately, I haven't watched this series in a LONG time... because I never know when it is on. Is it at noon? Yeah, totally... today, tomorrow is a whole other story.
The first myth has to do with Bart's Cherry Bomb. In this myth, Bart flushes a cherry bomb down a toilet, causing geyser like explosions through the school's toilets. This one was busted. If you flush an explosive, it'll just destroy the toilets. They did invite someone who works on the cartoons, and he did try to give an explanation to refute the test, but I'm not buying it.
The other myth was Homer using his own body to stop a wrecking ball from destroying the family's home. This one is plausible, but it does question what kind of real-life damage Homer would have sustained. Then again, Homer has taken a lot of bodily abuse over the years. Most of what he's taken would badly injure, if not kill a normal person.
Now to see what else they'll do with this year. :)
After that, Jaime decided to ramp things up a lot and built the "lawnmower from hell". I'm honestly not sure whether to find that awesome or terrifying. You know, sometimes I question if they are trying to scare the audience. Because I was definitely scared of that thing.
I recently found out that the new Mythbusters series will begin on November 15. Remember, this will be on the Science Channel, not Discovery like the old show. I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing the new show (and its new co-hosts), along with all the new myths they'll test.Sounds interesting.
