Title: Dinosonas
Post by: Amaranthine on August 02, 2009, 04:11:22 PM
I'm just curious, what type of dinosaur would you like to be and if you already have an idea you can put it's bio here if you want. :) You can also post it's picture here if you want.

I would LOVE to be a Pteranodon or a Rhamphorhynchus. :D

I still need to think of the bio though. :p

I am at a loss as to what dinosaur I would be... I think I'm too ingrained in being a human to make a good make-believe dinosaur.

Also, I have noticed that a lot of the threads in here haven't been getting too many replies - I suspect a lot of GoF members are on vacation or simply out enjoying the sun.

Hard choice for me.  I'd have to think it over a lot more.  Maybe a flyer or a swimmer.

While I'm probably most similar to a yellow belly (an absentminded, corpulent klutz who loves to eat, acts on impulses, and is overall rather funny-looking :p), I think I'd most like to be a flyer of some kind. Not only do I love pterosaurs, but I would feel much safer in a world full of sharpteeth and other dangers if I had the ability to fly. Plus, my neurotic and high-strung personality seems like like it would fit a flyer like Petrie quite well. I'm afraid I don't quite know what to post in terms of a full "dinosona," though. (I've unfamiliar with posting alternative identities.) It might help if somebody else posted a dinosona, so I could better understand the concept... :p

Never thought I’d be the first one to post a dinosona in this thread, but since joining Rat Lady’s RP “In the Land Before Time” (in which GOF members have the opportunity to become dinosaurs), I’ve decided that it would be useful for the other RPers to know what my dinosaur form looks like. So here’s my best attempt at a depiction of myself as a dinosaur:
My dinosona is a Microraptor like Guido, but fully grown (I’m presently 21 years old). I estimated that he’d be about half again as large as Guido. In the position I drew him in, he’d be about tall enough to make eye contact with Cera or Chomper. If he stood as upright as Guido usually does, he’d be even taller, but I decided to give his spine a more horizontal slant, closer to the body posture of a real Microraptor. You can also see that I gave him a longer muzzle and more robust tail; features that I thought would make him appear more “adult”. The hand, outstretched in what I attempted to make look like a friendly but nervous wave (appropriate for my personality), is considerably smaller than Guido’s, but that’s because I intended it to be a real, flesh-and-bone hand, not the “feather-fingers“ Guido seems to have.

It took me several days to create the finished drawing you see here. As is inevitable with such a nitpicking perfectionist as myself, there are many details that cause me to still not be completely happy with it. For one thing, the red coloration turned out brighter than I would have liked. (I was hoping for a slightly darker hue, closer to maroon, but this was the closest I could achieve with the colored pencils I used for this drawing.) I chose his coloration for a number of reasons:
ï I like the color red. :p
ï Not many LBT characters are colored red, so I thought it would be more original.
ï I wear a lot of maroon turtleneck shirts, so I thought that by making my dinosona the same color, he would, to some effect, resemble me. (I also own a down comforter that is not only red on one side, but also a sort of light yellowish beige on the other. If I wrap myself in it and hold the sides of it out like wings, I look quite a bit like my dinosona. :p)
ï While my hair is brown, my parents tell me that there’s a hint of red in it (it was more prominent when I was younger). I thought that giving my dinosona plumage that matched my hair color exactly would be too boring, so I made him redder, but again with the intent of making his appearance reflect mine to some degree.

I wasn’t sure what to write for a biography, but here are some personality traits of mine that my dinosona displays in the RP:
ï Extremely high-strung and nervous. When startled, his usual reaction is to jump, and then freeze in place in a tensed-up (and often rather ridiculous-looking) position.
ï Sensitive to loud noises, especially high-pitched ones.
ï Very shy. Finds it overwhelming to be surrounded by a crowd, becoming twitchy and quick to panic.
ï Prefers not to be the center of attention, but dislikes being left out of social situations even more.
ï Very poor at initiating conversations; prefers to wait for someone to address him first, or find an already-running conversation where he can interject.
ï Tries to be helpful whenever possible, and makes a strong effort to be friendly to anyone he meets.
ï Usually meek and timid, but can be deceptively stubborn if he becomes determined to accomplish something.
ï Doesn’t like to hurt anyone, physically or emotionally, and takes special pains to avoid doing the latter.
ï Prefers to premeditate everything he says; tends to stammer if forced to come up with words on the spot.
ï Has difficulty expressing most emotions, and finds demonstrating empathy to be almost impossible. Very self-conscious of this, as he fears it makes him appear insensitive.
ï Worryingly absentminded, with a poor memory for names and faces (especially human ones).
ï Fascinated by just about any natural object; frequently pauses to scrutinize leaves, insects, rocks, fungi, and tree bark as if they were fine art (which, in his mind, they are :lol).
ï Predominantly logical and scientific in his way of thinking.
ï Has a somewhat dry and often subtle sense of humor, which frequently manifests itself in the form of casually uttered wisecracks.
ï His “catchphrase”, used mostly when he is surprised or has realized something significant, is “Holy buckets!”

So, to those of you participating in the RP, now you know what you're looking at when you're interacting with me. ;)

I'm working on a fan-fic at the moment that will tell the story of my character, or at least give him a background story for the forum. Only real problem I have is that I'm trying to tell his backstory, and what will ultimately happen to him, and two bonus stories which don't entirely fit (His POV of the arrival of the parents to the GV, and something in the middle of the two stories). I've got a structure for it (It's being told as a story, like Grandpa Longneck did in 6), only problem is it's still a bit odd.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure if this is really a dinosaur version of me, but I'll definately RP as him.

EDIT: Solved it. Changed one of the opening lines, and merged the other two stories together.

Gaaahh, I was afraid you would say that! :p Yeah, I had hoped to color him a deeper shade of red, but those colored pencils of mine are so danged limited in the range of colors they offer. :rolleyes The only thing I remember from your description of Syndra's appearance was that she was "a light scarlet". (I don't recall what other colors you described her as having, if any.) So, hopefully, my dinosona is at least a little darker than her.

Well...since you asked.

1. The color: while not clearly the color you wanted, it is indeed a very rich and vibrant color. As are also the secondary colors you chose for the feathers.

2. The line art: Almost looking as if it were professionally done by the LBT artists, it shows a great command of the visual arts as well as desire to put your ideas down with a pencil and pen.

3. The bio: It describes almost in perfect detail what he likes, dislikes and prefers in his daily life. Even as a Dinosona it is extremely detailed, and that can make for a very well rounded character.

And for now that's all I've got...hope that clears things up! ;)

I'm glad you think it's good. I selected colors from three separate boxes of different colored pencils, to find the tones closest to what I wanted. I had an idea of what colors I wanted my dinosona to have ever since I first introduced him in the RP (long before I ever started the drawing). My original concept was maroon body plumage with tawny yellow feathers on the underside of the wings and body. Then I watched LBT XII again, and saw that Guido's belly and underwings were different colors. So I went with a somewhat paler shade on his underside than I had originally envisioned, and more vivid yellows for the wings and plumes. I tried muting the colors a little on the scanned image before I uploaded it, but it didn't work. <_<

2. The line art: Almost looking as if it were professionally done by the LBT artists, it shows a great command of the visual arts as well as desire to put your ideas down with a pencil and pen.
That's a HUGE compliment. Thank you very much. :yes I should mention, though, that I did A LOT of referencing on this picture. I had one of a number of screenshots of Guido on the monitor in front of me the whole time I was drawing it, to make sure I got the look and shape of the character just right. After completing the initial drawing in pencil, scanning, and printing copies of it, I made half a dozen attempts to outline it in ink for extra clarity (a couple of which I gave up on before I had outlined the entire image). Finally, on the seventh try, I managed an outline with minimal enough kinks and squiggles that I was satisfied with it. I then scanned and copied it again, and added the colors.

3. The bio: It describes almost in perfect detail what he likes, dislikes and prefers in his daily life. Even as a Dinosona it is extremely detailed, and that can make for a very well rounded character.
In case I wasn't clear before, that's MY personality I was describing. :lol :oops Because my dinosona IS me (or me as I appear in the RP), I described him as I would describe myself. I always make a strong effort to keep characters in character when I write, and in the case of the RP, that goes for me as well. The way I act in the RP is pretty much exactly how I am in person. Granted, in the RP, my dinosona does a couple of things that I wouldn't normally do (jumping off a cliff, for instance :p), but in general, what you see of my RP selfóthe language; the nervousness; the mannerisms; the analytical mode of thinking; even the way I slur certain words when I speakóit's all me. :smile

EDIT: Check that; yesterday I listened to a recording of myself talking, and realized that I stammer much, MUCH more in real life than my character in the RP. You other RPers can all feel thankful for that little inconsistency. :p

Thanks, and you're welcome :smile
First off, I'd like to mention how well you captured the LBT style. Spot on! You kept it as simple as it is, and it looks very nice.

My critique has to do with the horizontal slant you gave the spine. I think it's a great idea, but something about the way you did it makes it look like more of a hunch than a natural posture. I think it may have to do with the legs. While drawn well in and of themselves(especially the feet, I really like his left foot :) ), they very closely resemble Guido's legs, which were designed to support an upright posture.

Well, there's my critique. Awesome drawing, on the whole :yes

Hmm...Maybe that notch in his back has something to do with it. I probably made the distinction between his upper and lower torso too sharp. (For the record, I don't have the best spinal posture myself, so perhaps that feature just makes my dinosona all the more accurate. :lol)

As I mentioned on your art thread, the legs and feet are, in my opinion, the hardest part of a dinosaur to draw. I realized when I started the drawing that Guido's leg design might not work too well for a dinosaur with a more horizontally-angled spine, but I was reluctant to change it (largely because I wasn't sure what kind of alternative shape would work), so I tried to draw the legs so that they were each in different positions, to brace the character against falling over. I also thought that the heavier tail might provide additional balance. (Guido's tail is almost ratlike in its thinnessónot a great balancing aidóso I made the tail of my dinosona more like that of a fast biter.) Still, you're right in that the legs look a little awkward. Maybe the next time I draw my dinosona, I'll have him standing on tiptoe, like most adult bipedal dinosaurs in LBT tend to do. (At least you think the feet look good. :p)

Yeah, I noticed that too... I was little iffy on it, but like you said, it could just be bad posture :smile
I don't think it's a big problem.

Hmm, maybe. You could also look at the way LBT does oviraptor or fastbiter legs and possibly take some pointers from that. I guess it's just good to try a bunch of different things :yes

Okay, here's mine!

As you can probably tell, I chose Opthalmosaurus :smile

Alrighty, here we go.
First off, the yellowish underside. By looking at Mo in comparison to his waterkin, I kind of took it as a juvenile trait. I don't quite consider myself "full grown" as of yet, which is why I added a bit more yellow than I had in the previous picture of dinosaur me. I figure it's beginning to fully fade at this point, and will probably reach its final off-grey color soon enough :p

I chose cool, subdued colors in part because that's what I tend to wear, and in part again because I am quite a subdued person, actually :lol

The eye color is my own. Frequent markings are to express the fact that I have all kinds of random birthmarks and freckles and things. The angularity of the markings represents a calculating, logical personality. Of course, a streak of whimsy is represented by the slightly more cramped and pointy snout-markings.

Okay, that's all I can think of for now :)

I'll post what i think i am but i'm a horrible drawer so if you dont mind i'll leave mine out.

1. I would be a certasaurus like my char cody

2. I sadly have a quick temper but i dont hold grudges

3. I try not to get mad but when i do its just a blind rage to me and some friends of mine like this in football cause i dont care who i go up against i'm gonna try to tackle the biggest guy while i'm one of the smallest.

4. the up side of me is i'm extreamly friendly for the most part

5. i'm very sarcastic but its the funny sarcastic

6. very hard worker, i dont mind menial labor or doing something for others

7. i dont like being the center of attention but as pangea said i dont like to be left out which sadly happens all the time unless someone needs help then i'm the goto guy, then afterwords dropped like a bag of trash. oh well

btw nice persona darkwolf

Looks fantastic, DarkWolf! :D

I love the colors, and the variably shaped bands and blotches. The angularity of the meeting line (can't come up with a better descriptive term :bang) between the purple and the yellow sides of the body also looks really good. It's so obviously an LBT Ophthalmosaurus, but also a distinctively unique character. (That didn't come out very well the way I said it, :rolleyes but hopefully you get the gist of why I think the drawing is good. ;))

I finally got around to drawing an LBT dinosona for myself. I had a hard time choosing which dino, but I eventually chose Gastonia.

I chose black and red because they're my favorite color combination. I chose brown for the back armor because I do have brown hair (although a darker shade). I chose green (though it looks more blue in scan I think) for the eyes because I have, well, green eyes, though they have more haze in them too. The small scars I gave the dinosona on the left leg and chin are actual small scars I do have. I scrapped my chin badly as a kid and I still have a small scar from that. And I also have tiny scars on my left arm due to repeated blood donations.

I think Rat Lady (who started this thread) intended it to be strictly a place where GOF members can post pictures and/or bios of their dinosonas: dinosaur versions of themselves. By that definition, Sky's eponymous character would be welcome, but other forms of LBT fanart (pretty much anything that does not represent a dinosona) should go in a different thread.

I wonder...I'm not the best at drawing animals; are there templates that we could use, like a colouring in page? Chances are, all that someone would need to do would be to take a photo of a character from the movie, and then draw over it, removing all colour and adding outlines. Then the rest of us could draw on that.

I don't have a picture at the moment, I'm still working on that, but I can at least give her info. :)

Name: Amy
Username: Rat_lady7(you all knew that. ;) )
Age: 17
Gender: Female (no...ya think?)
Species: Pteranodon (flyer)
Color Pattern: Dark brown beak, tail, wings, and tuft around my neck. The rest of my color is cream.
Eyes: Almond shaped and honey brown in the iris
Physical Appearance: Fit, hour glass shaped, crest is slightly longer then most female pterosaurs.
Abilites: Fight using her claws and uses her wings as a whipping mechanism. She can blow dust with her wings at her enemies. She never turns back into a human during the rp at all.
Non fighting Abilities: Singing, dancing, and writing.

Personality: When first meet her, she's tends to get a bit nervous, even excited when she sees someone she "kind of" knows. After awhile she calms down, but it takes a bit of work. She can be very random, fun, and thoughtful if you give her a chance and get to know her. She is very deep and can often be misunderstood as serious all the time, but this isn't true at all. She is strong, intelligent, sensitive to others, and stubborn. She sometimes is unpredictable, when one day she is joking around and the next she is incredibly sensitive.

Little Tidbits about her:
-Afraid of heights, despite being a flyer.
-Can have some depressive mood swings due to the fact that she doesn't have her anti-depressants anymore.
-Socially shy and awkward at first.
-Laughs a lot when nervous or sad, since she can't cry that much.
-She tends to miss her little guy, Gypsy in the rp.
-She eats meat, so she is repulsed by every green thing and plant she sees when it is eaten.
-She tends to talk in different accents randomly. :lol

I don't have time to draw mine yet, so I'll post information like Rat_Lady7 did ;).

Here it is:

Name: Anna

Username: Cancerian Tiger (a.k.a. CT)

Age: 23 years

Gender: Female

Species: Swimmer

Eye Color: Green-blue

Colorings and Markings: Very similar to Ducky's mother.
Physical appearance: Short, made up almost entirely of lean muscle mass, and bony but strong in appearance.  Considered smaller than average for my species :p.

Fighting abilities: Carries over some martial arts training she had learned as a human kid.  Since she is small, this makes her more vulnerable, so she tends to aim for weak spots on opponents and use weapons of opportunity.  Has no reservations against fighting dirty, but if it's the only way to save herself or others.

Non-fighting abilities: Writing, drawing, singing, runs fast for species, able to shake sources of food out of trees.  Has knowledge of first aid and emergency care.

Personality: Comes across as quiet and shy until she gets to know others well.  She is very humorous and talkative with those she knows well, but does not usually come across as obnoxious.  She is notorious for being very kind and caring towards others, but she can also be outspoken and will not hesitate to mouth off at anyone who is rude or mean to her.  Can come across as temperamental or moody at times, has occasional meltdowns.  She is terribly sensitive and easily offended, but is also very forgiving and patient.  She hates conflict and grudges, and tries to correct problems as soon as they start.  She comes across as intelligent, unique, and quirky.  She is very protective of those she knows and cares for.

Tidbits:

*Is deathly afraid of sharp objects and deep, dark water.  She can tolerate using a sharp tool for an everyday task, like cutting food, but otherwise does not wish to be bothered with sharp objects.

*Has a speech impediment (echoing) that causes her pitch to bounce around, especially when she's excited or tense.

*Cries frequently, but usually holds it in until she's alone and out of earshot.

*Is very adventurous and daring.

*Does not eat meat or dairy.  Diet mostly consists of fruits, veggies, soy products, and seafood.  Goes without seafood when she's a swimmer.  Loves sweets!

*Misses her pets and loved ones, though like a lot of everything else, internalizes her feelings put into the spotlight.

*Tends to sing or talk to herself when others are not around.

*Loves nature!

*Is very clumsy and accident-prone :p!

I just finished drawing myself a dinosona. Not sure if it even deserves to be called that, because... it's a yellow belly. I don't think my personality fits the description of such species. I had my doubts about what a "dinosona" actually means when I was drawing him, so.. yeah. :p

Anyways, just thought I'd ask if my thing fits as a "dinosona" before I show you guys my drawing. So, does it? :S

A dinosona is basically a dinosaur avatar of yourself; what you think you would look like as a dinosaur. (That's the way I understand it, anyway.)

By the way, your personality doesn't have to fit the species. You can be any kind of dinosaur you want. :DD

Well in that case, here's what my dinosona looks like:

(you can call him Shelbie, if you want. :lol)

The reason I chose to be a yellow belly is simply because I like them, and also because of the fact that there aren't many who would wanna be one. :p
I don't have like a birthmark or any other strange random markings and whatnot, so my dinosona doesn't have any "unique" features on him. I chose grey for my body color, because I pretty much like greyscale colors (e.g. black & white, etc.), though I tried not to make him look plain grey, so I added a little bit of blue to make the color seem more "cool".

The short tail-feathers indicate that I'm still growing, not that you would notice me grow now anyway. I'm 15 btw - still in puberty. :p

Gender: male

Intelligent but sometimes confused. Most of the time friendly and a natur lover. Talking with himself and thoughtful. Is Afraid from Sharpthoos. Helpful but sometimes he can be really angry.

Pretty good, excalibur! :yes Are you planning to post a bio?

I actually considered having a yellow belly dinosona myself (for my reasons, see the beginning of this post (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=6112&view=findpost&p=9126288)), but when I thought to join the “In the Land Before Time” RP, I immediately decided on a Microraptor (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=6112&view=findpost&p=9141505) instead. However, if there’s no rule against having multiple dinosonas, :p I may try drawing myself as other kinds of dinosaurs as well.

Here's his bio. :p
__________________________________________________

Name: Shelbie

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Species: Yellow belly (obviously, lol)

Color: Grey

Self-defense: Uses nearby props as weapons, otherwise, do what a yellow belly would do. :DD

Personality:
A bit shy when it comes to making new friends, but gets along really well. He can get easily p***ed off if someone insults or teases him. Has a pretty good sense of humour, and loves to joke around if things get TOO boring. :p Doesn't like to be involved in a group fight, especially aggressive ones.

Tidbits:
- Likes to talk to himself sometimes when he's alone. :lol
- Is afraid of swimming in big, deep water, due to an incident in the past.
- Hates spicy food.
- Tends to get distracted by certain objects of interest.
- LOVES to eat fruits and vegetables.
- Is very aware of his surroundings.

Excellently drawn indeed. Vivid expression, lively posture, good shadowing. I really love it :yes
I'm always trying to look for things to improve in an image, not to be some kind of faultfinder but to help artists to further improve their art. I have often received very helpful feedback and try to give some of that myself. All too often our artists leave too little room for constructive criticism :p
I see just one minor detail in the drawing which might possibly be improved (though I am not entirely sure if indeed it would be in improvement). The light source in the image is apparently a bit to the right and slightly above (character's perspective). This I think would make the shading of the upper side of the character's right leg unlikely.
Please don't mistake the suggestion. It is not meant to be nitpicking on a truly excellent piece of art. I'm just trying to say something more useful than praise only. The picture is awesome and I am looking forward to more art from you :yes

I know I already posted mine, but in a different thread, so here it is again, just in case:

Name: Ty

Species: Swimmer (Opthalmosaurus)

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Eye Color: Black with a touch of Dark Blue in the back (My own eye color basically)

Color Pattern: Dark Purple and Light Yellow primarily, but also has some Orange

Personality: He is a lot like his younger brother (Playful, friendly, loyal, brave, quick to making new friends), but has been known to be a bit serious at times.

Appearance: Looks a little bit like Mo (has the same build or physical shape)

Tidbits:  A Swimmer who comes from the same pod or "water-kin" as Mo, but was seperated from his younger brother when the Great Valley was flooded (Journey To Big Water). Eventually, soon after Littlefoot and his friends helped get Mo home, he was reunited with his older brother and the rest of his water-kin. Since then, the two of them are often seen playing together, and get along really well with each other. He is bilingual like Mo, meaning he is is capable of speaking the herbivore language, as well as his own. He is also very wise for his age.

I still need to draw my dinosona, but here's what I got:

A Therizinosaurus like this dude --> http://isismasshiro.deviantart.com/gallery...fset=10#/dc5ulz (http://isismasshiro.deviantart.com/gallery/750565?coffset=10#/dc5ulz)

Except I'm a girl....
Bio:
Name- Friends call her Sparky!!  :D
Username- FlipperBoidSkua or any 'versions' of that (FBS; FlipperBoid; even SkuaGirl once)
Gender- I'm pretty sure I'm female.... *double-checks* Yup, I'm female!!
Physical Description- Black upper-colors (since I got black hair) with a few small red and gold streaks (I have small bits of red and gold highlights). The underparts a tannish, light brown color (representing my skin color). The white face markings are silver and her eyes are a solid brown.
Personality- Nervous, quiet and reserved with strangers; talkative (perhaps too much so :p ) with those she's a bit more comfortable with. Loves anything sweeeeeeeet (CHOCOLATE!!!!). Also loves to have fun!! Self-confidence pretty low, and she tends to look a bit on the negative side of things. It's difficult to anger her, but when she is angry, she tends to hold it all in with nothing more than a few grumbles. On the occasions she 'explodes', it tends to be very violent (that got me sent to the therapist several times.....), although the violence is taken out on inanimate objects. She feels awkward giving her opinions on anything (especially if they differ from others) as she's been raised to keep her thoughts to herself or risk getting punished. She's a spazz and a weirdo and a bit anti-social with peers. While she's not particularly fond of kids (as they tend to annoy her), she always finds herself being a kid-magnet (I'm not sure why, but I can never escape their attention!!). She loves the 'animals' of the LBT world and spends much time observing them peacefully. She's also afraid of heights, though she envies the Flyers for their flight abilities. Her sense of humor is leaning towards the sarcastic-kind and she also gets a kick out of being random (Whoooo!). Whenever startled or in sudden pain, she lets out a loud and literal "Eep!". Despite her size, her footsteps tend to be silent and she unintentionally startles her friends with her 'sudden', unexpected appearance (How many times do I walk by casually and startle everyone around me? :P:). She tries her best to stay on everyone's good side and make everyone happy, though she does hold an eternal grudge list of those who crossed her just a little too much.....One of the remnants of her past....

That's what I got! I was torn between what species of dino I could be; my choices were a Flyer, a Fast Biter, a Domehead, or a Therizino (would probably be called a Longclaw in the LBT world...). I thought, since I already have OCs of the first three, why not give some love to a dino not many people know about or appreciate? Then this Dinosona was born!  :D

Hopefully I'll have the drawing done soon.

I guess I'll post mine. I can't draw though. My drawing skills are absolutely horrid. So I won't post a picture of it. Sorry. Here it is!

Name: Hope. Although I prefer to be called Nana in the LBT universe. Or in this case the RP.

Username: LBTDiclonius.

Age: Around 13 or 14. Considedered an adolesent in the dinosaur world.

Gender: I'm a girl.

Species: Apatasaurus. Longneck

Appearance: Mahogany body with a darker color of Mahogany going down the wave at the back of her head, to the tip of her tail (Basically the stripes like Littlefoot's or Ali's) with a white snout with white going under her lip on her under belly, and down to the tip of her tail. With brown eyes and long eyelashes.

Personality: Very open and friendly. And it takes a lot to get on her bad side, but if someone goes to far she loses it and explodes. Likes to hang out with friends, but likes to be alone for awhile and enjoy the surroundings and take things slowly. A huge optimist that alway's looks on the bright side of things and does whatever she can to help people and put a smile on their face. Helpful and pitches in a lot to make sure they get done. Very determined and will push through any type of pain to get whatever she's doing done. Doesn't do very well in a huge crowd and prefers being with 1 or 2 people. Is almost incapable of holding a grudge and apoligizes to whoever she got angry with very quickly. Alway's tries to make things better when she's done something wrong and is very musical. She likes singing and sometimes will sing a random song just for the heck of it. She's very self-concious and doesn't like to get involved in things that will humiliate her. She will stand up to anyone if their bullying another person and isn't afraid to get in someone's face to make things right and prove a point.

And, that's about it. Yeah, that's kinda my personality. I'm not making this up. Boy, it was hard to write.

The dragonfly was as small as I can make it while still being able to neatly outline it, so pay no mind to the scaling or details! Trust me, when I put effort in drawing insects, it looks much much better!  :smile

The Dinosona herself....I've never drawn a LBT Therizinosaurus before and paid much attention to IsisMasshiro's drawing, while at the same time, adding a splash of 'me-ness' in it!  :D

Wow, awesome picture you got there FBS. Huh, sadly my drawing will never be that good. My skills are terrible. But enough about me, lets talk about what you've drawn. I don't really care what you did about the bug. It was still good, and the  Therizinosaurus itself was great. I like the little red and yellow dashes you put on. nice touch. I like it. Your drawings are WAY better than mine by the way  :) .

Name- As for a name, I would rather not go with mine, but more what I think he would be called in The Land Before Time universe. Though not very original, using the same criteria for Ruby’s name, I suppose a title that would fit him is Tan, given his brown coloration. I think it kind of has a nice ring to it. Single syllable names are pretty popular and sound a bit more casual, hence why so many people with multiple syllable names have nicknames. So yeah, just call him Tan the Yellow Belly.

Physically- He has a few scars on his left arm from not allowing wounds to heal properly. He is extremely clumsy, constantly bumping into something only to bump into it minutes later. He is thinner than most Yellow Bellies because he has a small appetite, so he doesn’t each very much. He tends to dine only once or twice a day. He’s slightly short for his age, but not enough to really be considered short in general. His body extensions are very flat and droopy, hanging down completely. He also has a double birthmark on the same arm that has his scars.

Emotionally- He makes a lot of friends, but he still has an overall feeling of loneliness. He is very different. He views things differently, does things differently, and feels differently about things than most others do. This creates a sensation of distance between him and anyone he comes across. He stares off into the distance a lot, and he frequently imagines all his friends on one hill, with him standing alone on another. Even when surrounded by those who care, there is just this wall that keeps him somewhat separated from others, much as he enjoys his time with them. He usually doesn’t like being a kill joy around others, so prefers to keep a happy disposition and have a bubbly personality. Though when in his lowest times, he has been to known to express his troubles to others.

Mentally- He is a very competitive and jealous character. In most things, he tries to do things better than others, and feel jealous when outdone. This saps most of the fun out of his activities. He rarely relaxes when doing something with others because he is constantly trying to find a way to do it in a way that others have not while trying to add the most to something. When he feels that he can’t keep up with someone in something that he likes to do, he starts feeling extremely frustrated and tends to be generally grouchy. Several things hit a nerve with him pretty easily, though he is usually able hide his offense. He is a constant worrier, though he usually worries about others.

Social Life- He is more eager to get to know girls better because he is more like them. He is very soft and gentle in mindset, so he often has a hard time relating to other males. He tries very hard to get others to like him, though he go especially out of his way when it comes to girls. He can chat for hours and hours, as socializing is a big thing for him. It can be hard to sympathize with people’s problems because feelings towards others don’t usually come automatically like they do for most characters. It’s hard to explain, but he has to base his reactions to others’ troubles off of his knowledge, not his actual feelings. If someone is hurt, he doesn’t genuinely feel anything, and although he cannot help that, and it really depresses him that that’s the case, that is who he is. He has to analyze the situation and formulate the best possible reply to comfort the boy or girl. This often leads to difficult moments for him in conversations because he has to think really hard about what he should say.

Self Image- He has an extremely small ego, feeling inadequate to others most of the time. He has a very low opinion of things he does and usually doesn’t take compliments very well as a result. If several others are pleased with an action on his part, he tends to assume they just have low standards. He rarely tries to please himself because it is a very hard thing to do. He finds problem after problem after problem with his actions, always finding some flaw needing improvement. He usually falls into the slum of, “The tree stars are always greener in someone else’s valley.” Because he is not very fond of who he is, he doesn’t take very good care of himself, instead devoting his time in trying to help others with issues he sees in them.

That’s really all I can think of, at least for the moment, on my dinosona. I can’t draw at all (pretty much everything I produce looks like a cloud) so FlipperBoidSkua kindly did the picture for me, following my description impressively to the letter. Let’s give her a big round of applause, shall we? Well, here’s my contribution to this thread. I hope it was decent.

Wow, again great work on the picture FBS!

The friendly sharptooth, that was an awesome bio. You just did everything well enough so that we know how the character feels and interect. and it was wonderfuly put into words as well. Aww, poor...Tan was it?  :(  He reminds me of myself. The Friendly Sharptooth, I don't think your drawing is worse than mine. Nice dinosona bios, guys! :D

And FBS, I said “whoa” out loud when I saw your picture of your dinosona. :wow I can’t believe you whipped it together so fast! :o I love the colors and pose (it never ceases to amaze me how well you draw limbs), and the dragonfly (which is very cute) is a nice touch. :smile (There were plenty of Mesozoic dragonflies with six-inch wingspans, so I wouldn’t worry about the scale. ;)) I have to admit, I thought the eyes were closed at first because they didn’t have any scleras. :oops (It’s so hard to draw realistic-looking dark-colored eyes) I don’t think that line between the neck and the chest (meant to represent the front of the scapula, I’m assuming) should be so far forward, but it really is an excellent picture.

It seems that yellow belly dinosonas are more popular than one might expect. Yours is the second one in this thread, The Friendly Sharptooth. :!
And nice work on the picture, FBS. :yes That’s definitely the saddest-looking yellow belly I’ve ever seen. (The droopy feathers combined with the expression make a big difference.) I was at first going to say that he looked a little thin for a yellow belly, but then I read the bio (which is really astounding in its detail, by the way, TFS) and saw that there was a reason for it. :P: I would say that the head looks a bit large, however, and although yellow bellies have stumpy tails, his looks a little too short. It’s nonetheless a good drawing, and showcases aspects of the character’s personality very well.

Tan the Yellowbelly! I love that name!! It's nice and to the point! I'm loving the personality bio stuff you put down, I can relate to the majority of this! I too enjoy hanging out with people of the opposite gender 'cause of my tomboyish nature (and guys tend to be a lot nicer than girls over here for some reason).... And I stare off into space a lot during my frequent day dreaming! And I often feel left out in groups even when they include me; I guess I feel lonelier when in a group than I feel when I'm alone. And my self-image is the same too! If people in real life compliments me on something (especially when they come up only to say that they're friend wants to date me or something), I automatically take it as a hostile comment meant to mock me, which is almost always the case... And my self-confidence is shot; when I walk, I spend all of my time looking down and avoiding looking at others, and all my teachers keep telling me that that's a sign of low self-esteem. I won't argue with that. It's very nice getting to know the character I drew a lot more! Makes him all the more special!!

*gets all glittery eyed* I can't get over how nice everyone is with my drawings here! A very pleasant change from my real life where all my drawings are never good enough. I recently showed my Dinosona and Tan to my mom and the first thing she said: "Why're your drawing's never as good as your sisters?" I felt really depressed  :( . Makes me feel so much better knowing my art is appreciated somewhere in the world.  :)

Thanks LBTDiclonius! I'm sure your drawings aren't bad at all! I have no doubt that your art will be much appreciated here!  :D

 Thank you Pangaea! I honestly have a lot (and I mean a lot!) of free time, so my work and drawings usually don't take too long to finish. And your still one of the few people who like how I draw limbs! For that, I'm very grateful! And yay, the dragonfly is cute!  :DD And yeah, Isis's Therizino seems to have what I call sharptooth-eyes (yay to her acknowledging the species' theropod-ness!  :smile ). I love her character's eyes as it seems more realistic for a dinosaur and I really love the vertical cat-ness of the pupils. I did feel a bit worried with the dark eye color of my Dinosona, but didn't wanna deviate from my true self. So I just hoped that ink outlines would do the job of making the eyes a bit more visible (I'm just glad I don't have black eyes; that'd be a nightmare for this pic  ). And that line error can easily be fixed next time I draw a LBT Therizino! I admit, I hardly knew what I was doing when drawing it!  :oops

The Friendly Sharptooth was very helpful in his descriptions and patient with my questions. He mentioned the Yellowbelly Dinosona was a young specimen, so I tried to make the proportions a bit.....well....younger-looking. That was my logic when I drew the large head. The tail I didn't really know how to do as I didn't truely know how stumpy a Yellowbelly's tail was supposed to be. I've never seen the movie (the only DVD I lack in my LBT collection; many tell me that's a good thing) and I only found one decent picture of them in Google. But if I ever draw another Yellowbelly, I'll be sure to make the tail a bit better. Thanks for the suggestions, Pangaea!

Alrighty, well since I've "gotten over myself" and my drawing skills, I've decided to make my dinosona. I've just finished it tonight and I think it's good. But that's just me. I have no idea how you guy's will think of it. Right now I'm really nervous because I'm scared it won't be good enough, but you guy's are very friendly, so I think I'll be alright.

So without any further ado...I present...my dinosona.

Aww, so cute! It's not bad at all! I especially like the folds of skin where the foreleg attaches to the body! That's my favorite part of the pic for some odd reason!  :smile

Oh, please! This drawing is MUCH better than your description of your drawing skills would lead one to imagine. Maybe the shape of all the body parts isn't perfect, but your attention to detail is impressive. :! You have all the skin wrinkles, the bumps on the back, and everything. And I like the colors and expression, too. You should draw more often, LBTDiclonius; you really are a pretty good artist. :yes

Well, the feet are one thing (I've always said they're some of the hardest parts of a dinosaur to draw), but also some of the proportional details in general: the tail should be narrower towards the tip, the body more rounded, the snout a little deeper, that sort of thing. But none of it really looks bad, and it's nothing that can't be improved by more practice. ;) And like I said, even if not all of the details are perfect, you've done a really great job making sure they're all there.

Thanks for the advice, yeah I know it's not "perfect", as one might say, but it's not bad for a first try. Yep, I'll keep practicing, and hopefully I'll get better at it. Thank you. ;)

Name: Can't think of a good name right now and my name's not that cool so I'll use my bro's middle name. Thus name is Daniel.

Species: Cearadactylus (if that's how it's spelt, same type as Sierra)

Look: Dark Brown coloration (that's my skin), extra long and sharp claws (that's my finger nails...really),  red eyes (aren’t my color by cool)

Age: 17

Personality: Kinda a mixed bag and switches sometimes. Generally laid back when things aren’t that serious. Not very talkative. Open to making new friends and will try to friend anyone. Pessimistic at times. He’s fun loving and always willing to go on an adventure and also loves taking risks. He doesn’t get angry easily but when he does get ticked off he becomes almost as furious as Topsy.

Uh…that;s all I can think of right now.

Nice job on the bio. :smile I'd call it concise: it's short, but covers the basics well. :yes

And yep, you got the right spelling for Cearadactylus. :D

Are you going to make a picture of your character?

EDIT: Major facepalm! :slap I accidentally misspelled “Cearadactylus” myself when I was telling you you spelled it correctly! :slap :slap :slap

^Or a wingtail :angel.

Great drawings so far, guys :yes!

As for the one about me looking like an older Ducky (and to clear up Pangaea's post from my fanart thread), I intentionally made my character to look younger than Ducky's mother.  I kinda see dinosaurs aging like how people age; their features change somewhat (though humans are more drastic) with age.  With Ducky's mother, one could tell she's no spring chicken and is probably around middle age (human equivalent of 40's).  I'm barely over half her age, and since humans don't really fully develop until around their late twenties, that's why some of my features still look youthful.  In actuality, I'm often mistaken for an older teenager, so I look even younger than my chronological age.  That's why my dinosona's looks are still young :p.

Name: Jared

Species: Pteranodon

Look: Medium tan colored skin, long claws, crest nearly as long as Pterano's, and blue eyes.

Age: 21

Personality: Shy and sometimes nervous around others, but very friendly in any case. Jared does funny hings at times, and is very fun loving. Jared is also lazy and relaxed at times. He loves making new friends and also loves going on adventures with others.

Sometimes, Jared is afraid to take risks, but if it means helping or saving a friend... he'll do it.

As for an attitude, he's very cool tempered, and kind.

He'll only get frustrated and angry if someone constantly annoys him or picks on him.

Overall, Jared's a shy, happy, funny, friendly pteranodon and would be glad to do fun things/make friends with anyone who's friendly, kind, and inviting right back to him. :yes

I've never really thought about what kind of dinosaur I might see myself as, although I do have a a few "personas/fursonas" aka personal characters. A wolfdog, a scruffy mutt and a little rat. I suppose if I were to picture myself as a dinosaur I would hav to say velociraptor. They've been my fav since I was a kid! Although, considering the fact that I'm a vegetarian maybe I should pick something else...LOL  :rolleyes

^ You could be a Troodon, perhaps. They were closely related to Velociraptor and looked rather similar, but the shape of their teeth suggests that they may have been omnivorous, eating some plants as well as meat.

I'm hoping I get to use Predator X. Speaking of that I'm surprised no one has used Predator X at all.

Name:Jasper (Preferred to be called Chris in the LBT world)
Species:Swimming Sharptooth (Predator X. A new Pliosaur spices)
Age:19
Gender:Male

Appearance:

Chris's skin color is dark blue with a black colored underside. He is almost fully grown and is already a giant that feeds on large fish. His eye color is black and has a small scar on his back.

Personality: Chris is very quiet and has a tendency to not say anything when it comes to conversations unless he has too.

He's kind, but can get annoyed real fast and hates it when people bother him over non important things. When he gets mad enough he will often get into fights, but tries his best to avoid going in that direction.

Ability: Capable of changing into a human or to his Predator X form whenever he pleases too.

Mine is a pterosaur, a Quetzalcoatlus, as you can see in my icon. Highsoar is the Dinotopian subspecies Quetzalcoatlus Skybax, and because of the Dinotopia origins of the persona, all I have is her Dinotopia-based backstory. (she has a human partner named Alyssa there, and is one of the rare Skybaxes with the genetic mutation allowing human speech (that came from the digest novel Windchaser))I have tried a couple LBT RPGs here using her without her human partner and more LBT based, though.

I haven't scanned in any of my full body pics, but I did do a headshot of her in oil pencils.

Her personality is a lot like mine, smart, a little hyper at times, and a bit stubborn at times. And a total chocaholic, although it didn't exist in LBT world.

(I forget who posted two posts up, but we aren't dinosaurs...we're flying reptiles :) )

My skills are terrible.

I think your artwork is very cute, miss Diclonius. You clearly don’t know what terrible skills are.  :p  I drew a LBT picture once. I worked on it for a long time and focused so hard that I was literally sweating. I don’t own color writing utensils, so I “color” with different amounts of pressure. In order to prove that your skills are not terrible, allow me to show you my best work, the true meaning of awful ability:

...Not gonna say anything about that picture....

But anyways, I think my two OCs, Tero and Redback, are pretty much a combined dinosona for me

Here is a basic design of what they look like (http://fimoman.deviantart.com/#/d3kvlz5)

Name: Redback
Species: Spinosaurus
Age: Teenage (16/17)
Personality: On the outside he may look a little hard to approach, a little weird, a little scary perhaps, but if you can get past that, you can see that on the inside, he's a rather sensitive soul. I guess you could say he represents my more public image.

Name: Tero
Species: Pteranodon
Age: Late teens
Personality: If you thought Redback was hard to approach, you ain't got nothin' on Tero. Completely silent, completely cynical and completely misanthropic, this flyer never speaks, and never sleeps. This is the side of me you see when you get on my bad side. If he likes you, he kinda likes you. if he doesn't like you, you're screwed because he REALLY doesn't like you.

Oh! I'd love one!

Name: Devon
Gender: Male
Age: Young Adult (21 in human years)
Personality: Hmm...this is gonna be tough. He's very kind and caring, especially when it comes to his adoptive father, Pterano. He can have a sassy attitude, kinda like Cera. :lol He can also overly impatient...but protective when it comes to Pterano.
History: Devon was raised by his abusive father Sierra and used to be just like him, until he came face to face with a sharptooth and broke his wing while running from the hungry sharptooth. If Pterano hadn't been there, he could have been swallowed whole. Devon and Pterano met again when Pterano was stung by a stingray while foolishly fishing in the Big Water without looking at his meal. He ended up bumping against a tree and the next thing he knew he woke up and Devon was looking down at him. Devon asked if he was alright, Pterano said that he was and they had a chat then moved on. The next meeting Pterano and Devon had was when Pterano was flying about when he saw Devon laying on the ground all beaten up by his father. So he took him in and raised him into good health. And from then on, they've been looking out for eachother.

Personality: Kind and caring and funny...like me! :lol Very concerned about others, especially when it comes to Pterano.

Well I don't really see this as "me" if I suddenly turned into a dino; this is my dinosona for what I WOULD be were I able to pick my own life and background and such. :p Some elements of me are fused in here, and mixed with things I completely made up. :p So yeah, this is just my dinosona.

Name: Norton
Species: Pteranodon
Age: Early twenties (human equivalent I suppose)

Appearance: Cream underbelly, and a very deep red for the body. Wings are a diaphanous lighter to medium brown. Looking at the shades of red, I'd say his body is carmine for the shade, and the wings would be burnt sienna.

Personality: Norton is very ambitious, yet also suffers from insecurities as well. He believes that if he isn't doing the best he can, it's not enough. His overriding desire is to find his father, and even though he has no proof that he still lives, Norton still believes his father to be alive. He can tend to have a bit of a sharp tongue, and be critical of others, but he tends to be just as critical of himself if not more so, as he'll constantly berate himself if he does something wrong. He is quick to anger, but is also very quick to forgive as well. He also has an anxiety neurosis, tending to become tightly wound under stress. To counteract this, he has trained himself (sometimes to the point of even forcing it) to become less rigid in his methods of dealing with things, and has also picked up several calmer ways of coping on his numerous travels.

Despite his tendency to be critical and anger easily, he is not very confrontational in arguments, and rarely gets involved in them unless pushed, at which point his biting sarcasm will emerge.

On the positive side, he is highly intelligent, and a very fast learner, able to pick up skills and methods very rapidly. He loves absorbing details (having a hearty thirst for learning), and though he is sometimes slow to make friends, the friends he does make all attest to his nearly unimpeachable loyalty, as he'll stand by them regardless of whatever they may put him through (as nothing short of serious betrayal can shake his faith in his friends). Friendship and trust is something he highly values, and it shows in the more positive relationships he has with others. He is also incredibly empathic, and does well at reading the emotions of those around him, and is a rather sympathetic creature, often times finding himself trying to help those he barely even knows. He believes in placing courtesy before criticizing, and comes off as quite amiable to those around him, only showing his harsher side both if he's familiar with the situation and comfortable doing so.

He is also very tactile, and will often times have something present in his hand, be it a twig he's twirling or a rock he's running over his fingers and claws. It seems rather random and irrelevant to most others, and even he can't fully explain why he does it.

Biography: I don't think I'm going to delve too much into this yet. I suddenly got inspiration for a new fic that I might write centered around him, so yeah, if I do end up writing it, there'd be no point in spoiling things before it's even written. :p What I can say is that he's the biological son of Pterano, has no idea what happened to his father, but is determined to find him someday. He mainly does this by traveling, both to learn more about the world, and to see if he can find any clues as to his father's whereabouts.

Name: Keirra

Age: Young adult, equivalent of early twenties

Species: Tapejara (Sailed Flyer)

Coloration: stony-blue wings, back and legs; lighter undersides. Bright blue eyes, orange beak and crest.

Physical Appearance: Keirra's slim, but she is in no way skinny or thin; she is petite, and seems younger than her actual age (acts it, too sometimes)

Personality: Keirra is a scatterbrained, oblivious flyer in the 'I'd-forget-my-own-head-if-it-wasn't-attached-to-my-body' way. Chatty and spontaneous, she will drop everything at the first sign of random-ness that gets her attention. She is also well-spoken and patient, despite her sudden and spontaneous nature. Though not in any way malicious or violent, Keirra can get easily frustrated and ruffled.

Speech Pattern: Jovial, precocious alto which will rise to a soprano when she gets excited. Talks really fast, and often ends her sentences with a question mark, like she's not really sure of what she's saying. Giggles and laughs as a secondary form of communication.

Attributes: Keirra is an adaptable flyer; living most of her life on her own has prepared her in such a way. She is also quite smart, even if she doesn't always show it, and the fact that she remains patient is also a handy virtue when she and Hadley get into jams. She's also a daring, but capable, flyer.

Soooo this is ME :) pictoral reference to (hopefully soon) follow.
Another dinosaur form would be Struthiomimus, which I will most likely upload soonish as well :p

I'm deciding to change and redo who I would be as a prehistoric character in the LBT universe. While I love Pteranodons and I have had day dreams of flying and that sort, I don't know if at heart I would be one. I tend to want to have my feet firmly set on the ground, literally and figuratively. While I like water and that sort of thing, I also wanted to be an animal I have not seen in the series and see which ones resonated well with me.

I'm mostly just going to post the physical appearance and personality, since I don't have an exact picture of what exactly I look like as this one animal. Also for the sake of redoing my persona character, I figure I'd rename her what I usually go by these days. Ama.

Physical Appearance: Built like your typical, young adult Didelphodon, althought slightly slimmer and not quite as heavy boned. Has a thick, dark brown fur coat with red undertones, cream underbelly, dark gray rounded ears and dark gray paws, a wet black nose, and medium brown, round eyes. She has a few little scars on her legs and arms and tiny bit of belly fat.

Personality: Ama is not in particular one that stands out at first glance. She keeps a rather low profile, is quiet, does her own thing, and depending on her job does her darnedest to get it done, even if she struggles at the task at hand. She's the type of person you see in the corner on her electronic device, book, or notebook for writing, not really making any contact or even raising her head to say hello. This gives the illusion that she's aloof, not wanting to deal with society, interact with other people, or take an interest. Sometimes it is just that, she just wants her alone time, but usually, she's observing and looking for an oppurtunity to come in and interact even if it's something as simple as someone asking what time of day is it. Her social anxiety, her self-consciousness is usually what gets in the way of making, keeping, and establishing relationships. She usually relies on timing, when is the right time for her to give her opinion or share information on her interests. However, sometimes even when social, work, or self-improvement oppurtunities do come up, particularly if a parent or a family member points them out to her, she will shut down or refuse to do anything at worst, or be reluctant at best.

Ama also is her own worst critic. She can be down on herself if she cannot do a task that is easy to (in her eyes) most other people. Any little flaw she has, she will scrutinize it to the max and sometimes use it as an excuse to not take chances she otherwise would have wanted to do. And because of certain experiences, she will be less likely to take other certain risks again.

Despite these obstacles however, Ama is also a very curious, empathetic, sharp, and dutiful individual. She has varied interests, such as animals, particularly her cat, Django (Gypsy) feeling that she doesn't have to "impress" them or be a certain way with them. She's also very protective of her cat, seeing him as her "little boy". She also loves music, dance, reading, writing, and even drawing in her spare time. Animation, particularly Danny Phantom is a big obsession for her right now.

Umm…no offense, Brittany, but to count as a dinosona, your character has to be a dinosaur or other prehistoric animal (any species that has appeared in the LBT series or that you might conceivably find in the LBT world). Basically, a dinosona is yourself as whatever prehistoric species you think you would be if you were in the LBT world.

Sorry, I hope I don't sound rude. I just wanted to clear that up. (Let me know if you want me to explain it to you further.)

Name: Alexios

Age: Young Adult(about 22 to be precise)

Species: Gallimimus (Rainbow Face)

Appearance: His build is lean and supple, his form is mainly a light brown in colouration, with a darker, earthy shade along his underside and a bit of dark green tracing the length of his spine. His eyes are a lighter green with subtle flecks of a soft blue here and there. His claws are grey in tone.

Personality: He is primarily reserved and humble, with a tendency to be straightforward; sometimes even blunt. Often doesn't like to be the center of attention, as he feels safer when laying low; so to speak. He can sometimes be a bit absentminded and other times his senses are as sharp as a blade. He is known to show empathy and has a quite the moral compass, he also shows a reluctance towards getting involved in confrontations or any dangerous situations unless he either has no other choice or thinks it to be the right thing to do.

Alexios also suffers from anxiety, flashbacks and night terrors. He is prone to isolation and can come off as cold at times, while at others he seems a slave to his emotions and can be irritable. So too can he be self-destructive at times, even putting himself into a 'damned if I do, damned if I don't' state of mind. He isn't the best at keeping a level head when under pressure either.

He is a bit stubborn - once he sets his mind to something, there's a good chance he'll follow through with it. He values growth(be it physical, mental, spiritual etc.)  and as such, is also keen on introspection and likes to push his limits.

Speech Pattern: He tends to be well spoken and proper, often enunciating his words a tad. Although he is prone to a persistent repetition of words every now and then. He speaks in a mix of English and Welsh accents.

Attributes: Alexios is resourceful, quick, observant, can keep a secret, can be charismatic at times, he is adaptable as well (though its not always in the shortest time span), he has some survival experience, is a decent singer, can be stealthy,   and he does have the potential to be a good story speaker.

Name: Jax

Age: Young adult (20)

Species: Saurolophus (Swimmer)

Appearance: He is physically strong and fit, though he has several birthmarks on his leg, arm and thumb and all on the right side. He has sharp blue eyes and a light blue underbelly but the rest of his body is pure white, he has three gold stripes run down his back and the other too flanking either side of his spine and going all the way up to his face. The lower back portion of his crest is gold and the two gold lines end in splotches around his eyes. His appearance is considered to be highly unusual.

Personality: Jax is a very tough and clever Swimmer, he is considered wise by some of his kind. He is a born leader but doesn't acknowledge this, he loves getting in the water and is at home in it, he can hold his breath for times that are impressive by his kinds standards. He has a very cool head and he is at his best and most calmest in pressured situations. He is also very friendly to people he meets and doesn't hesitate to lend a helping hand. However he is unsure around children and he harbours an old fear. Jax is also a Swimmer of habits and will follow them or adapt them to his situation. He has a fair knowledge of healing plans but is full of self doubt. He is also known for having very fast reflexes and being cheeky and fun when he wants to be and at other moments he can be withdrawn and slunk in the shadows. Unfortunately he can also be a chatter box if he is allowed to talk about subjects that interest him. He is a practical Swimmer and does many different things to experience adventure and can be a little arrogant in that respect. He is generally slow to anger but his temper once unleashed is explosive. He is very caring and trustworthy for people he befriends and often states that when they feel down then he feels their pain too.

Speech Pattern: He has an English accent but his wording is more of an outdoor Australian. However he often forgets what words he wants to say or mixes up his words when talking and has to have them corrected which displeases him.

Attributes: Adventurous, experience in many outdoor activities (rock climbing, rapid Swimmer ect.) Funny, kind, clever/wise, physically fit, born leader, bravery, resourcefulness and improvisation. Enjoys whistling made up tunes, stealth and fast reflexes and a calm head under pressure. Very trustworthy, but keeps personal secrets hidden.

Weaknesses: Arrogance, self loathing, an unknown fear, nervousness around children and occasional laziness and clumsiness (especially with words).

Personal History: Jax has lived a hard life in a migrating herd and has been bullied in his early years due to his unusual colouring, most of his siblings are dead, which has made him very tough, his cheekiness came as a way to deal with his troubles. Now days he is looked up to by the whole herd because of his wisdom and bravery and leadership, while he helps his herb members he has no desire for leadership yet he and several other deputies are being trained as the next leaders and he tends to skip his lessons leading to private tutoring with the leader. He has a fear of leadership and has a lot of self loathing for himself due to believing that he was responsible for deaths of siblings and friends that he couldn't have prevented. His mother was a close friend of Mrs Swimmer and since he no longer wants to be in a herd, he has finally decided to seek her out and settle down in a place that he no longer has to worry about trouble: The Great Valley, he doesn't really know anything about Mrs Swimmer though or her family.

Righto, I bumped this for a reason, so let's get into it! Thought about doing a Cryolophosaurus, but realized that's pretty close to a character I'm already developing, so I had to revise a tad.

Name: Dures (DYUR-iss)
Species: Dilophosaurus
Age: Young Adult
Appearance: mottled gray/brown/green coloration, with yellow accents on his twin crests. Dark eyes.
Personality/Story: Dures isn't the strongest of Sharpteeth. Nor is he the fastest, most agile, deadliest, largest, or even the most honorable. In fact, most Sharpteeth consider him rather weak, an assumption only being reinforced by the ever-steadily dwindling numbers of his kind, living in territory which brings them in direct confrontation with larger, more aggressive Sharpteeth. But he does have one thing going for him.

Smarts.

At least, that's what his parents said, and for the most part, that testament holds water. In fact, the only reason he's survived for as long as he has is because he's able to remain one step ahead of the big predators. He knows when its safe to scavenge or even steal a kill. He has to. His weak jaw and relatively harmless forearm claws are really only good for territorial disputes with his own kind, only to be raised in self defense as a last, usually futile resort. It's a lesson he's learned through the deaths of others. Forced to rely on other means to feed himself, Dures often attempts to establish mutual respect between himself and other competitors, serving as a spotter, or a chaser in their hunts. Unfortunately these agreements are few and far between, and more often than not, Dures is forced to rely on thievery to eat, and indeed survive.

However, his life of deception and shaky alliances is a sustainable one, for the moment. For all the trouble he tends to go through to eat, Dures has yet to go hungry, but he knows that hunger is an inevitability. Today won't be the day he starves, nor tomorrow, but one day he knows that something will have to change. The prey will move on, the Sharpteeth will forget his allegiance, and he'll have to find somewhere else to go. So every day he feeds himself, he reminds himself to think- to work toward a future that he can remain in control of. It's a humbling thought, sometimes a frightening one, but it's a principle that he sticks to. And each new day he plans, waiting for the proper moment to leave his old life behind, and make a new one somewhere out in the Mysterious Beyond.

(Sorry for the wording. Felt kind of disjointed to me, but it's the best I can do after having typed a large review earlier. I'll be using this character in an upcoming RP, provided the moderator approves)

Okay, here is my proposed OC.  If the extreme amnesia is found contrary to eventual decision in the first vote being held for the “Members in the LBT” RP then I can make modifications.

Name: Fog

Species: Gallimimus

Age: Young adolescent

Appearance: As in keeping with his species Fog has a green hue to his skin with dark blue stripes and a colorful beak.  His stature is a bit small for a young adolescent, but his musculature is average for his age.  He has yellow eyes.

Story:  Fog woke up one morning with a crippling headache and no memory of where or what he was.  It was in this condition that he was found by farwalkers who took pity on him and allowed him to tag along for a time.  Despite their kindness, however, he feels like a dinosaur without a home.  When he closes his eyes to sleep he sees a feminine form.  Is this his mother?  A sister?  Did he even have a mother?  As far as his memories are concerned he might as well have fallen from the sky.

A dinosaur without a herd.  A dinosaur without a past.

Several months have passed since the mercy of the farwalkers.  In this time Fog has remembered some lessons that seem to be imprinted on his mind: how to find clean water… how to avoid predators… healing plants… but he has no idea who has taught him these things.  Perhaps it is because of his impairment or his mysterious arrival, but he has found no companionship since his ëwaking’ as he puts it.  He has found kindness in strangers, but no parents.  No friends.  In the mixed herd he is merely an unknown.

Even to himself.

Personality:  Fog is generally an introspective soul with some awkwardness in his social interactions.  His hazy memory does not help with his ability to interact with others, as the social niceties he undoubtedly learned no longer linger in his subconscious.  Despite his social dullness, however, he does harbor a great interest in seeing how the world works.  His occasional burst of knowledge or insight, without knowing where he gained such knowledge, has surprised him on more than one occasion.  This only drives him further to discover more until he finally can answer the ultimate question: “Who am I?”

It occurred to me that my proposed OC may not actually be suitable for this RP. In the event that he is not, or in the event that I change my mind anyway, I do have an alternate proposition:

Name: Tark

Species: Kentrosaurus

Age: early 20s

Appearance: Tan-orange, brown accents, reddish-orange plates.

Backstory: (based on the amnesia prompt) Tark fell into his role as a sort of teacher late into his teenage years. After suffering a fall (or what he believes to have been a fall), much of his past memory is a blur. However, he has since learned to accept this state of being, and has resolved to discover and teach as much about the world as he can to the young Kentros in his community. An extremely self-conscious individual, he is more than aware of his own fears, and how irrational many of them are, and continuously makes strides to combat them, all the while remaining in pursuit of the greatest mystery of all: his own past.

Personality: Tark is unusually laid-back for his kind. While most Kentros are in high demand as herd scouts, defenders, or simply to protect their own nesting areas from Sharpteeth, he prefers a life without battle, choosing instead to seek out the more mysterious things in life, often leading him to be mocked as the "adventurer without a backbone." he takes his negative attention in stride, however, and is slow to anger. His interest in the unexplainable has led to further alienation from some of his kind, but the few friends he does have are close ones.
