2012 Member's Awards/ Fanfiction Awards

Is there going to be a Member's Awards or Fanfiction Awards ythis year? I really loved the fanfiction Awards last year, and would participate in it again.

I know the board's been a little bit inactive in the past few months (Or does it just seem that way to me?)

Have the Admins been discussing it any?

Nope, not yet discussed anything. Most likely will come soon though.

I've read some of the older threads about the Awards and it sounds really cool ideal.

We got a number of award drafts completed by now, but not yet all that we needed. I hate to be a killjoy, but the award voting by the rules is only open to members who have been around for at least three months and posted at least a hundred times to ensure that participants in the vote (which consists of a public vote along with the reasons why somone is voted for rather than just a pol) know the other members of the GOF a bit already.

I understand, and it makes sense. Does that mean, however, that I couldn't enter any of my work for voting?

yes you have to meet the criteria (been here 3 months with 100 posts0 in order to submit something.

And what about the member of the year? Do you have to me a member for that whole year in order to get the award? EG...Malte has the GoF Member of 2004. Did he receive that in 2005? I'm just curious.

You receive the member of the year awards 3 years after that year. This year we have the member of 2009 awards handed out!

Okay, I see. So I would get the 2011 member year award since I joined in 2011?

Aye, in 2014 everyone who is still around, has posted more than 100 times and joined in 2011 will be offered the Member of 2011 Award.
