I don't know how often a conference will work, but this will work out well I think. :)  At least Malte won't be left in the dust.

It's usually just a round-table discussion. As long as it is organized, this should work like a usual conference.

Yeah, that's fine.  I did this for Malte and myself because we're so out and about a conference or real-time roundtable discussion isn't likely to happen with us.

Maybe the recommended thing would be to make topics with "Date - Roundtable Discussion" in the topic subject to keep things organized and we'll sticky really important stuff.

I'm here but I'm not able to do much today.  I'll see what my schedule is like tomorrow and get back to you guys.

With the members spread over the world and school and work schedules on top of this it may be best doing things this way, on a forum.  Then folks can more easily fit in the discussion into their schedule for that day that they can visit.

I also like the other idea for naming certain threads like Petrie suggested.

As I mentioned elsewhere I don't see the advantage of chats over forum discussion when it comes to picking a plot for the audio plays. Microphone chats may at a later stage (when we are really discussing voices and recording business) be of importance.
One thing I'm a bit uncertain about is this board's being blocked from public view. Many people may not like that while on the other hand I see of course that some may not want to declare their refusal of a particular script publicly to avoid hurting the feelings of an author
We'll have to wait and see. In case nothing too personal has to be posted here (e.g. everyone knows my stand on stories involving unfounded violence or crossing over / science fiction elements anyway) we might want to consider making the threads here public after the decisions are being made so as to show that we don't mean to "hide" anything from anyone. In any case people who handed in scripts which we don't take should know why we decided against their scripts.
So far we didn't get any scripts (other than the beginning of one to which I can lay no more claim than that of a translator) anyway.

Maybe a thread devoted to announcements and the reactions & such from the other members.  Maybe a sticky one to make finding it for whoever wants to post a new announcement easy to find.

I have only around 6 pages done of the first draft or pre first draft..  Pretty slow going.

I didn't even know we were still doing this.

I think it should definitely be continued!
I didn't have much time throughout October (due to exams) but I did continue a little on the translation of the German audio play. Nevertheless I begin to wonder if such a 20 minutes play (by the way it takes just three pages of script to make up for 10 minutes) may be a bit too ambitious for the beginning. We should perhaps try to come up with a shorter story instead.
Suggestions are very welcome. I suggest them to be posted in the public sphere though, for everyone to look at and with the potential to inspire more people to hand in suggestions :yes

Do you suggest making a new thread just for that purpose?

You could do that if you want to, but you could also just post it in the already existing thread (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=4078.0) for plot suggestions in which I have posted the beginning of the translation of that German audio play.

I think I'll just post to that thread.  It's less clutter and better to look in 1 spot for plot ideas then 50+ threads.
