Does Littlefoot have a crush on ALi at the end of LBT 4?

So few discussions here as always so I thought I'd bring something up I've been thinking about in regards of my fanfiction... has possibly been discussed before but I see no point even trying to find it right now.

Anyways, been wondering what feelings Littlefoot may have had for Ali at the end of LBT 4. We see him watching her take her leave almost yearningly at the end of 4. Do you think he may already have a (mild) crush on her at that point?

Personally, I'd say yes but I'm far from convinced just by taking that small scene into account which wasn't obvious in any way, leaving much room for interpretation. 

PS: I doubt episode 6 of the tv-series is even remotely canon so I'm not even referring to that one here

unfortunately or not, TV series is canon, so you have to consider it, lol. Or you prefer to kill some ovies, other characters and events from TV series in your fiction?

About topic: Well, only creators (plot scenarist or someone else, I dunno) know that. Did they leave intentional tease or not... Was it just tease or serious possibility?

Anyway, as you already know, my general position about such situations - characters don't have to immediately have a crush on other character if he/she is opposite gender and have the same species/size, especially when he/she appeared not so long ago and you have a little time together...
but - if I temporally put aside my position and look at this, trying to read Littlefoot's and Ali's personalities, ages, their small but so important trip, where everyone had a time to show their characters and behavior... I would say - there is small possibility, but I still think Littlefoot saw her as new best friends like his other friends. She actually was first not counting still hatchling Chomper. Of course Littlefoot was upset they had to move apart so shortly and for long time ahead.

I wanted to see more Ali's appearances in LBT, especially after Chomper's return in next movie, and I was sad she didn't appear, and when appeared - it was not enough time that is bad.

Let's see, if Ali returns in the future. Who knows, maybe some creators will leave new tease or hint about this.

Huh, btw, I want to tell here a small story from my very first watching LBT IV. As you remember, at the end of the movie, during Littlefoot's "memory sequence", there was a fragment of scene when Littlefoot and Ali played tag, where Ali touched Littlefoot's cheek with a nose and he stunned for a moment. And well, I somehow missed or didn't remember at all this moment in actual scene at the beginning of the movie, and it looked like Ali... ahem, well, at that time I jumped out of sofa with mind screams "WHAT??? She kissed him??? WHERE? WHEN? I don't remember this scene before! DID IT HAPPEN OFF-SCREEN??? :O".
Lol, I laugh each time I remember this.
By the chance, is there somebody who thought the same?

We are sitting in the same boat here it seems. I would have also loved to see much more of Ali. She was such an interesting character with such great potential, not only for romantic scenes between her and Littlefoot. The tv-series just didn't do her justice!

Amazing threehorn girl is around cute longneck boy for many years, what do you think, could she develop a crush, even if she still ddidn't fully realized it?
(for reasons, I never consider crush can be developed from Littlefoot's side towards anyone. Well, he sees everyone as just his friends. )

It is one of those characters that I don't ship but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't mind reading about that pairing if well written.

In Old One's herd there were relatives, but it wasn't pointed who exactly.

Littlefoot's grandparents refer to the herd members in general that they are cousins in the fourth movie.

Yeah, I kinda doubt that whole herd is related to Littlefoot. Also, even if Littlefoot and Ali are related, they probably are much more distant than Simba and Nala, who get together and have kids in canon, so go figure. The closest I would imagine Littlefoot and Ali being is third cousins, which is far enough removed that it's not considered incest.

You don't have to worry about it too much, Hypno. It doesn't matter how close they are related, if they don't have and won't have romantic feeling towards each other!

I cannot comment on Ali and Littlefoot’s relationship in the tv series. As for the Journey Through The Mists, i think Littlefoot has a crush on Ali in the beginning, especially because like a girlfriend has a perpendisity to do, Ali sought to separate Littlefoot from the rest of the Gang. As for the ending, from what I recollect it was more of a friendly fair well. Little Foot often watches those he loves leave The Great Valley, case and point is LBT X when Bron leaves with his herd (parallels to Ali and her herd).

I think we're in agreement that Littlefoot and Ali struck up something beyond friendship.

I actually think this was done on purpose too. Remember at the end of IV, where the narrator says the gang would meet Ali again one day, "but that is another story"? I think Roy Allen Smith and the rest of the crew at the time intended Ali to be a future love interest, and had they stayed on V and beyond, there would've been a sequel where the gang is older and Ali returns to the Valley in some coming-of-age-type story.
