Title: LBT Doctor who crossovers
Post by: Dalekdino on November 06, 2013, 07:52:52 AM

As well as a dinosaur nut. I am also a big dr who nut.
I also really like crossovers and on D-art I have done quite a few of the LBT gang with other characters including dr who. Mainly the daleks.

Here's the first LBT and dr who crossover I did.
This was also the first drawing of Littlefoot and co I'd done in a LONG time, as I only just got back into the land before time earlier this year.

Here the gang have come across a seemingly dead battle damaged 80s style dalek in a cave.

But shock horror it's not dead at all!

Nice ones! :) I think some characters still need some improving but they're already great as they are drawn. I probably couldn't have done better  :lol

First pic: First the background: Did you create it yourself? Second the characters: I noticed a few things that might could've been done better (again: They already are good! This is just meant to be constructive ;) ). Littlefoot, Cera & Ducky have thick, black line art whereas Petrie & Spike have thin line art. I wonder if you drew them like that purposely. I personally would always stick to one 'style'. I also suggest you to colour them brighter, this is especially problematic in case of Cera since that what is supposed to be orange rather looks like brown to me since it's only lightly coloured. Ducky, Spike & Petrie are coloured more brightly (though Petrie's wing's and stomach's colouring (apparently, you used just a pencil) doesn't look so great but that's just me. I personally use very light blue for that.
As for the characters themselves, Petrie looks good, just somewhat weird but in a positive and funny way :smile, you succeeded on Cera undoubtly :), Ducky needs some improving though but that might be due to her little size, Spike is my personal favourite in this picture and Littlefoot looks fine as well.
The dalek looks alright to me (I never watched Dr. Who).

Second pic: As for the colouring, Cera & Littlefoot are coloured too lightly here, Spike is a little less bright compared to pic 1 but still okay and Petrie & Ducky look good in terms of colouring. Here you used the same line art style for all of them :smile
As for the characters themselves, Cera looks a little bit too fat though that might be due to the perspective   but she looks good, Littlefoot looks fairly good, I like his expression (he's like   ), Ducky looks better than in pic 1 even though she's apparantly even smaller than in pic 1, Petrie's wings look somewhat 'Helloween-like', I like it :p, and Spike's well done again. The dalek looks slighly better than in pic one though that might be since he's alive now...

Only one more question: Did you use a reference for the Gang?

I think you are a talented artist, you just need more experience :yes If you keep doing more fanart, you'll improve with every picture :yes Just colour your characters brighter (--> use more colour) plus the thick line art works better than the thin one :exactly

Keep drawing!

Well as I said these 2 drawings I did back in March or April were the first drawings I'd done of the LBT gang in a LONG time.
I just got the background off Google image.
I'll admit in the 1st one I drew around screen shots with tracing paper for Little foot Cera and Ducky (did the same for the dalek too as daleks are VERY hard to draw), but I drew Spike and Petrie free hand and I think I inked them over with a thinner pen. As it was the first drawing of them I'd done in a while I could only just remember their colours. For the 2nd one I traced around pic from one of the LBT comics where they look a wee bit different then they do in the films. That's why Petrie's wings are bat like. I tried to make Cera look more skinny but looks like I failed.
But over the last few months I gotten better at drawing Littlefoot and co free hand.
Though I still sometimes use tracing paper but make a few changes.

Here's a dr who crossover of my humanized version of the gang in the asylum of the daleks. For those of you who don't know, it's based of an episode were the daleks have an asylum for insane and battle damaged daleks

These are a series of pictures I did on D-art but scrapped it as they didn't seem to be getting much attention. But if they do well here I may continue them.
Anyway these are scenes from the 1st LBT were I replaced Sharptooth with the daleks, mainly the dalek supreme the leader of the daleks.
Just imagine what it would have been like if a dalek chased Littlefoot and co throughout  the first film, and killed Littlefoot's mum instead of Sharptooth!

E.G. Cera: "I, met, A DALEK!"

Petrie *gasp* "DALEKS!"

Littlefoot: "Come on Cera, the daleks are dead. They were wiped out during the great earth shake."

Or : Cera. "I'm not afraid the daleks! I hope they don't exterminate any of you." XD

This is dalek POV if your wondering.

Here a dalek is taking down Sharptooth with it's death ray.
That's what you get for killing littlefoot's mum!

Thanks, I may continue this series of drawings after all.
I do plan to make a new avatar soon.

Here's a new dr who crossover pic. I did this one by editing screen shots.
In this one I made it look as though some (80s) cybermen are watching Littlefoot and Cera. (https://imageshack.com/i/07rba7j)

This will be the last edited screen shot I'll do for a while.

Here's the gang with a more friendly character from Dr who called K9. He was a robot dog that was a companion of the 4th Doctor Tom Baker. He was also in the spin off show The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Interesting. Makes me wanna watch Dr. Who even MORE. :lol
I love how all the gang are looking at it, trying to figure out what it is. K9 is an interesting looking character, too.

Oh yes he is an interesting character for one thing he could shoot a laser beam from his nose. He would have made a very valuable asset to the gang.
Also he kinda sounds like Petrie with a British accent and with proper grammar.

Yeah I don't think his laser would be strong enough to fight off Sharptooth, it most likely just aggravate him. But I can picture K9 scaring Ozzy and Strut away with his nose beam, and making prehistoric KFC out of Ichy with it.

I agree. It would only make Sharptooth angrier, but against some of the other villains it'd be pretty effective and amusing.

Yes I think only a dalek would be able to kill Sharptooth, they have very powerful guns. You may have seen the drawing I did of Sharptooth been shot by a dalek.

I like the name dalek too. Their really cool villains, for one thing they very hard to kill, and can fly. Also you may not know this, but their actually not robots, the actual dalek is inside (it's like a brain with one eye and tentacles) the metal bit is their battle armour.
I think a LBT and Dr who crossover would be good, for one thing it would make the LBT films interesting (and edgy like the first film) again.
I can imagine it, THE LAND BEFORE TIME XIV INVADERS FROM THE FUTURE.

They sound really neat. That'd be really neat, too, since they already had implied aliens, in the form of Rainbow Faces. Plus, if someone ever invented a time machine, or another way to travel through time, they probably WOULD want to try and conquer a lower civilization, and dinosaurs (at least LBT-style) DO count in that category.

It has been a while since I did a dr who crossover.
So here's anew one.
This is from a Comic relief parody episode from 1999.
A character called the Master gets knocked down a trap door by a dalek which Littlefoot, Cera and Petrie find very funny.
