Sorry. The "XD!" made me confused. I usually associate "XD!" with laughing, so I thought that you were laughing at my artwork. I apologize.

We may need a kind of dictionary for those symbols :p
I usually interpret an X in a smiley as angry eyes. They would not have matched with the smiling mouth though and when something is not really clear one should not interpret too much into something unless one means to get worked up about something that was never meant in any way similar to what one happened to interpret into it.

Lovely images Kacie :)
I wonder to what degree the colors are decisive for the very high recognizability of LBT character which don't come in their usual shape. If you do more Sharptooth Valley characters, and if you don't mind, could you perhaps post uncolored versions of the images before posting the fully colored version? It would really interest me if the colors play the major role or if there are more factors we may not even be aware of :)

I made another picture. This time, I seperated the pic into several steps, showing my process.

The tools I use for making these pictures are:

1. 0.7 mm mechanical pencil
2. Pink eraser
3. Sharpie (recently I've been using a sharpie pen)
4. MS Paint (editting lineart, coloring)
5. Sony Vegas 7.0 (taking screenshots)
6. Photoshop CS2 (getting the right colors from screenshots using eyedropper)
7. Windows Media Player (to look at footage for reference)

While drawing the picture, I do use references to the species I'm drawing, in this case, a fastrunner (or oviraptor).

Fastrunner reference 1: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...Fastrunner1.jpg
Fastrunner reference 2: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...Fastrunner2.jpg
Fastrunner reference 3: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...Fastrunner3.jpg

Using pictures like these, I can then begin the process of drawing the picture, which starts off as simple shapes and ends up with the completed lineart.

Step 1: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf.../Strutstep1.jpg
Step 2: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf.../Strutstep2.jpg
Step 3: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf.../Strutstep3.jpg
Step 4: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf.../Strutstep4.jpg
Step 5: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf.../Strutstep5.jpg

I then use references to the character in their original species, such as this one:

Strut reference: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...on/Strutpic.jpg

Using that, I am able to get the colors for Strut. Then using references for both Strut and a fastrunner, I can proceed to color the lineart. When deciding on the pattern, I use a mixture of a fastrunner's pattern and Strut's pattern.

Step 6: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...Strutstep6a.jpg
Step 7: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...Strutstep7a.jpg

And there you have it. These are the steps I take to completing these pictures.

Edit: I do realize I forgot to add in the feathers on the arms. I realized my mistake too late, but decided that Strut looked fine without the feathers on the arms, so I decided not to try to correct it.

Edit 2: Corrected a coloring mistake. Strut looked too much like Ozzie.

Here's 5 more drawings.

http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...aSharptooth.jpg Grandma Longneck as a sharptooth
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...dosharpbeak.jpg Guido as a sharptooth
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...hyleafeater.jpg Ichy as a leaf-eater
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...ySharptooth.jpg Shorty as a sharptooth
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...asharptooth.jpg Petrie's mom as a flying sharptooth

I know that Guido's species isn't actually a leaf-eater type, but brek had intended for Ichy to be Guido's species in his fanfic, so I stuck with that.

Hello:
They look very good, Guido does no longer seems to be a clueless guy in this alternate reality :smile .
I like how you can make the characters still been very recognizables, like Petrie's Mom. Keep up the amazing work!.

Probably at most two hours, if not a little longer, altogether.

Although these aren't "switcharoo" pictures like the others are, since these characters still partain to Sharptooth Valley (the rp anyway), I decided to post them here anyway. They aren't drawn in full LBT style; rather a mix of my own style and LBT.

http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...mon/Ratopic.jpg Rato (a Ceratosaurus)-the show-off
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...mon/Guanpic.jpg Guan (a Guanlong)-the scout
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...amon/Despic.jpg Des (a Saurornithoides)-the brains
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...on/Chiopic2.jpg Chio (an Appalachiosaurus)-the muscle
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Inf...on/Dilopic2.jpg Dilo (a Dilophosaurus)-the interrogator

Despite different personalities, they all have one thing in common: they hate the Great Valley sharpteeth because they believe they 'softened up' too much (including Rato, the most laid-back member) and still cling to the old ways (survival of the fittest).

Hello:
They look very good, I like how you place the character in both forms, so we can see them and make comparisons :DD . Good work!.
