Not much new this week, so here's the latest new episode of Tell Your Tale (and just from seeing the image before watching it, I can tell this is going to be a rather significant episode):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-d4H8KPgUus

Spoiler: ShowHide
This episode features Misty and Izzy, along with Violette Rainbow (a unicorn filly introduced in Issue 14 of the official G5 comic series), which is significant as I honestly can't think of any MLP character (of any generation) who was introduced in the comics and later made a notable appearance in the main show. Even so, this episode doesn't really reveal much about Violette for those of us who have not read that comic (myself included, as I've only seen bits and pieces shared publicly online). This episode also includes the breezies, though only as a catalyst for the "Swirlpool Starlight" to appear, allowing the three unicorns to glimpse into their futures. Those visions begin with a review of their pasts, so while Violette and Izzy embrace their visions, Misty is initially terrified, but assurances from her friends allows her to get through her harsh beginnings to see that she really does have a bright future ahead of her. Overall, a rather nice episode on its own, though it does leave me wondering if Violette (or anything else from the comics) might make another appearance somewhere down the road.

Well... this is awkwardly weird...

It's Thursday, which means there should be a new episode of Tell Your Tale coming out today. There is a new episode that has released in several languages... but not English? :confused

Since I'm not fluent in any other language (not to mention, I personally don't trust a dub in other languages to be entirely accurate, especially since TYT had apparently recast all the foreign voice actors for Season 2 for seemingly no reason), I can't watch the new episode just yet. As soon as the English version, in one form or another, finally does become available, I'll edit this post to provide a link and share my thoughts on the episode. (Such a pity, because from the bits and pieces I'm hearing about so far, this could be a very interesting episode.)

EDIT
I probably shouldn't be awake at this hour, but as soon as I found out that the English version of the new episode finally went up, I decided to immediately watch it, as well as share the link here:

Sunny feels insecure over the thought she might be the only remaining alicorn, so Zipp offers to help her find answers, by searching through the ruins of Opaline's castle. After a lot of searching, they eventually find a tapestry depicting several alicorns, and the presence of Sunny's magic causes it to animate into another depiction of several alicorns. They are soon forced to leave with the tapestry as a rave by a bunch of racoonicorns finally causes the entire structure to completely collapse. For me, this episode was more than worth the extra wait for several reasons. We got to revisit Opaline's castle in the aftermath of her final defeat, though it doesn't quite match up to how we saw its destruction in Make Your Mark chapter 6. Also worth noting is that Make Your Mark had made references to an alicorn realm named Skyros, so the discovery made in this episode gives us hope that we might even get to see that place later on in the series. At this point, there are multiple paths the storyline could go down from here, and now I'm really looking forward to seeing what's next. Overall, definitely my favorite episode of Season 2 thus far, and possibly even my favorite of all TYT episodes, so that's really saying something.

Last week, the second part of the Kenbucky Roller Derby miniseries comic was released:
https://www.equestriadaily.com/2024/02/my-little-pony-kenbucky-roller-derby-2.html

Some more Tell Your Tale episodes are now available to watch on Netflix:
https://www.equestriadaily.com/2024/03/netflix-adds-16-episodes-of-tell-your.html

Also worth noting is that a couple days ago, the next two episodes of Tell Your Tale were accidentally made available to watch, through they were quickly taken off after a few hours. I chose not to watch them or post any links, since I correctly assumed they had leaked early. I guess Hasbro has rather poor quality control on their YouTube channels lately...

Anyway, one of those early leaked episodes has now officially released, so here it is:

An Easter themed episode means lots of bunnies to deal with. I normally don't care much at all for episodes that feature makeovers, though at least this one has an interesting addition with Allura and Twitch making their first move in Equestria. Allura sees the Nova Charm she seeks (or something resembling it) among Pipp's accessories, so she gets the idea to send out Twitch to blend in with the countless bunnies to retrieve it, much to the evil rabbit's displeasure. Of course, he gets so caught up in the chaos that he misses out on his opportunity, and by the time he realizes it, he's left with no option but to stay with all the bunnies for the upcoming celebration. Overall, aside from a reminder that Allura and Twitch are still a hidden threat, this was an otherwise forgettable episode.

A new video game was announced just a couple days ago! "My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery"
https://www.equestriadaily.com/2024/03/brand-new-g5-my-little-pony-zephyr.html

If you remember the first game that came out almost two years ago (A Maretime Bay Adventure), this upcoming game will be mostly similar, with perhaps the most significant improvement being that you'll be able to play as all of the main six ponies rather than just Sunny. Expect it to be available on May 17, which is two months from now. Oh, and here's the official trailer for that game:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7v-NIqxifg

Also, the 2017 MLP movie will be removed from Netflix this coming Monday:
https://www.equestriadaily.com/2024/03/my-little-pony-movie-leaving-netflix.html

As for this week's new episode of Tell Your Tale, it apparently released a few hours early at some time last night, but I decided to stay consistent and wait until today to share the link and my comments:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZieS1ktwEfA

Spoiler: ShowHide
Another Easter themed episode, though this one was more interesting with the sudden appearance of a giant egg in the middle of town and no one has any idea what it is. As the main six ponies react to it in various ways, they eventually discover buttons depicting their cutie marks that they must press, sometimes requiring parts of the egg to be twisted around like a giant puzzle. Once they complete the puzzle, the egg cracks open to release a pastel phoenix that spreads chocolate eggs all over town. Some details I found notable was Misty reading her new spell book to speculate the egg might contain a phoenix (though she misidentifies it as a "flaming bird of terror" which later causes the other ponies to be briefly terrified when the egg is opened), and the return of Eggmund Bunny from last year's Easter themed episode (who is revealed to have gifted the giant egg to the town, but had failed to include his instructions due to being overwhelmed by caring for his dozens of baby bunnies). Overall, a rather interesting episode, but that's all I can really say about it.

Two weeks without any new episodes. (Not to mention, it's the end of the month when the first of the 22-minute specials was supposedly scheduled for release.)
At this rate, I think it's become obvious that there's essentially no real schedule at all, regarding Tell Your Tale on YouTube. :facepalm

Regardless, I might as well get this page caught up on some other news over the past couple weeks...

The one-shot comic "Mane Event" officially released last week:
https://www.equestriadaily.com/2024/03/my-little-pony-kenbucky-mane-event.html

Some upcoming comics have also been announced...

Part 5 of "Kenbucky Roller Derby":
https://www.equestriadaily.com/2024/03/my-little-pony-kenbucky-roller-derby-5.html

Part 3 of "Set Your Sail":
https://www.equestriadaily.com/2024/03/my-little-pony-set-your-sail-3-coverss.html

Part 1 of "Maretime Mysteries":
https://www.equestriadaily.com/2024/03/my-little-pony-maretime-mysteries-1.html

Finally, if you don't mind spoilers, a whole bunch of background art for Tell Your Tale has been shared from several previous and upcoming episodes:

Okay, so I guess I got so used to no new episodes of Tell Your Tale the previous weeks that I completely forgot to check earlier if there was anything new today... and it just so happens to be the first 22-minute special episode! Well, nothing else to talk about from this past week, so let's get right to it...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK2Zk_19HgQ

Spoiler: ShowHide
For this first extended episode, the main focus is on Izzy, who has been suffering from creative block, and with some encouragement from her friends, she decides to go on a quest to cure her "blocky-wocky", bringing with her several of her tools as well as the Nova Charm (which Allura and Twitch are still trying to find, though we do get to see them relocate to a cave within the cliffs along the beach). After Izzy leaves on her own, her friends decide to combine their cutie mark magic to help guide her, unleashing a rainbow that she decides to follow, but the Nova Charm activates to instantly transport her to all the locations that rainbow would lead her. First she arrives in Starlight Ridge, where one of the auroricorns suggests a dance under the stars. Next she ends up in the dragon lands, where Blaize suggests a trust fall. After that, she ends up in a new underwater area (thankfully she had conveniently packed her customized scuba mask and flippers) and meets a seapony named Destiny, who shares some of her own creations with Izzy. Finally, Izzy ends up on the beach back in Maretime Bay, but on her way back home, she comes across an abandoned fun fair, and as she explores it she is struck with so much inspiration that the magic of the Nova Charm allows her to completely restore the entire fairground just from her own imagination. Meanwhile, Allura and Twitch are able to find the Nova Charm with Izzy, but before they're able to take it, the crystal breaks into fragments that are then seemingly used to power all of the attractions at the fair. Izzy's friends arrive to see what she was able to create, including certain rides and attractions that appeal to each of them. They agree to make the restored fair open for everyone, and they decide to name it the Board Trot.

For the very first special extended episode of Tell Your Tale, I would say this was rather okay (not bad, but just fine). The beginning was largely a musical of typical daily life that felt like pure filler material, and it's not until five minutes in (nearly a quarter of the entire episode) that we finally get to the main story of the episode. Allura and Twitch made another appearance, though no one seems aware they've apparently relocated to a new residence and even made an almost successful attempt to steal the Nova Charm. Speaking of which, with that crystal now apparently being used to power the Board Trot attractions, I guess this means it will no longer be capable of opening portals to other realms, leaving Allura and Twitch with no idea on what to do next. What did interest me the most was that Izzy got to revisit a couple distant places and even visited an entirely new area and made a new friend (though without the Nova Charm, it's unknown how long it will be before we see Destiny again). Also, despite the magically convenient resolution, I am looking forward to seeing how the new Board Trot fair will be portrayed in the next few regular episodes. Overall, while I would not exactly count this among my favorite episodes, it was a relatively okay episode (especially after you get past the pointlessly slow start).

Finally, here's this week's new episode of Tell Your Tale:

Spoiler: ShowHide
Misty miscasts a spell and ends up pulling all the main six ponies into her magic spellbook, where they are sent on an RPG style series of quests to eventually battle some cave monster as their only means of escaping from the spellbook. At first, I thought this should've been another special long episode so we could see all of those quests, but after how ultimately pointless the whole journey apparently turned out, I now think what we got was probably more reasonable. As for that final boss they must battle, in typical MLP fashion, rather than beat him in battle like they were told to, Misty ends up using her cutie mark magic to discover he's lonely and offers to be his friend, which the beast gladly accepts. Oh, and the one who sent them on those quests is some kind of book fairy who seems bored with everything, though she is pleasantly surprised by the final outcome of their journey and agrees to send them home anyway. Overall, I found this to be a nice fun episode, but not much more than that.

The new episode reminded me both of ogres and oubliettes and power ponies
