Scotland forever! (or for three weeks in my case)

Hi!
Now it is “official” that I will be going to Scotland for three weeks next year (from August 2nd to August 23rd). I’m taking part in a study vacation from the university. We will stay in Stirling (between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The place where William Wallace defeated the British on September 11th 1297. Remember Mel Gibson’s victory in Braveheart?) ;-).

*ears droop*

Not the US this time, huh, Malte?  :cry   Oh well, maybe if you can get yourself a mic and a webcam we can at least pretend we're in front of each other. :p

I hope you enjoy your trip to Scotland. :D  I would love to go the UK at some point in my life.  Everything is so very different there than what I'm used to over here. ;)

Keep your ears up Arvens!
The only thing certain is that I will go to Scotland next year. Maybe I still have to go to an English speaking country for two months, if my petition (to accept my American school degree and the three Scotland weeks for the two months) fails. But please let not that keep your fingers crossed for the petition to fail. No matter what I'm very content to visit the east and north east of the United States when I have the necessary money (which most likely would have never been the case by next August. The Scotland trip is relatively cheap). And if I come voluntarily with no job to attend to during the time I spend in America (or at least a job of my own choosing to keep costs low rather than making the whole thing possible in the first place), I will have much more time for visits.  :)
It's only that I don't know WHEN it would be.
As for a micro and a webcam, I can assure you that they are on my Christmas wish list. And christmas is certainly much more definite a date. Than anything I could ever say about my coming to America so far.

Coming over to bonny old Scotland Malte?! Sounds wicked! I have to admit, despite liiving in GB, it's the one country that I travel the LEAST in terms of trips and holidays! I've flown to quite a few exotic locations but I hardly ever seek trips in my own country. Is this just me or does it go for others too? Oh! And by the way Malte! If you see men wearing checkered skirts...dont be too put off! Heard its the in thing up there in the Highlands! PMSL  :lol

:lol  Littlefoot you remind me of a commercial that someone created over here (I don't remember what it was for) but the scene was a parade on a very cold day and one of the bagpipe players was standing over a manhole with the hot air going up the kilt and the kid standing behind him says "That's just sick!" :lol :lol

Rather than starting a new thread I felt like reviving this thread of old
Tomorrow I shall set out on another vacation to Scotland. I will return on August 13th, but unlike last time I am not likely to have any internet access throughout that time (and hopefully I will have anything but internet on my mind when visiting this beautiful country again). I'm traveling not with a large university group this time but just with three fellow students. First we'll be in Edinburgh for two days, then in Glasgow, Fort William, two days on the Isle of Skye, Inverness, and back to Edinburgh from where we will go back home.
I hope the weather will play along as well as it did last time :)

I'm back and yes, I actually did try haggis :P:
I have A LOT to catch up with here, so for the moment all I will say is that I had a REALLY awesome time! I will try to catch up (and right now I need to interrupt the catching up to tell someone about my Scotland journey) and then give you a more thorough tale of the trip :D
