When in the Course of human events and interhuman relationships, it becomes necessary for one person to strengthen the bonds of friendship which connect him to another and when that that other person assumes among the people on the earth the equal station to which menmade laws with regard to officially grownup people entitle him, a decent respect for that person and the opinions of mankind requires that the first person should declare the causes which impel him to the congratulation
Pat really offers plenty of causes, but I admit that the unusual preamble is of course inspired by the fact that his birthday happens to be on the same day as that of a certain nation (a nation by the way whose declaration of independence was actually signed on July 2nd, but I'm getting of topic here).
