Title: Russian versions of songs
Post by: Rustam on December 02, 2017, 07:13:21 AM
The Land Before Time is quite popular in our country series of cartoons, so all its parts (except the last) were officially translated. From the first to the fifth part, translating was done for the Central TV-Channel in the nineties, from the sixth to the thirteenth voice acting done by quite different people. In addition to the usual translating, the voice actors also worked on the songs. Some of them turned out fine, others so-so. But among all this variety there was one part in which the songs were not translated at all - when it was time to sing, the characters simply spoke their cues to the music. If you are russian fan of LBT, you probably already guessed that it's about the ninth part.
A couple of months ago I decided that we should correct this omission - at least by the forces of us, the LBT-fans. I turned to Melody Note so that she and her staff could help me sing one of the songs in Russian. My choice fell on No One Has To Be Alone. This is a very unusual song and I dwell on it not accidentally. When I first heard it many years ago, I was surprised that such an "adult" song with a deep meaning does in the children's cartoon - usually all the songs in LBT were simpler, so that they easily understood the child. Therefore, I singled it out among all the other songs of the ninth part. I hope you will understand its meaning too (each in his own way, but still). I think the russian version of song turned out to be very cool and I think that you will like it too.

And of course, I want to thank those people without whom this song would not have completed.

It's cool to see that you guys did a fan version of this song. I can't imagine what it would sound like just talking over the music...strange. You guys did a great job with the singing and the artwork is a nice touch as well. Thanks for sharing  :smile

Two parts of the LBT, in which the songs did not quail at dubbing on russian language, are the ninth and fourteenth. Therefore, when I faced the choice of which song should be taken up, I did not think for long. The only single-voiced song from all that songs, it's the best song (in my opinion) of the fourteenth part - Look For The Light. Here she sang, at the same time and duplicating a small piece of dialogue before the vocal. It turned out very cool.
Youtube did not let me download the cut and dubbed piece from the movie, so I put the finished video in a two links: on the russian social network Vkontakte (http://vk.com/video335473694_456239457) and in a separate archive (http://kitsune.myjino.ru/other/LFTL.rar). And below is a cropped version (without a video) uploaded on Youtube.
