Good evening, everyone!

Rhombus and I have decided that giving a forum a new look would be a good idea, but instead of creating a completely new skin from scratch, I have decided to bring back a look that some of you will surely find nostalgic! I wasn't yet around when this skin reigned the forum, but I sure do like this look. It is avaliable in the theme chooser at the bottom of the page, it is called "Old School TGOF". Have a look! :)



I hope you will enjoy this refresh, if you find any bug or misalignment, just PM me about it! Suggestions are welcome, too!

Oh, and by the way, if you have not already seen them, then please make note of the rule clarification for the After Midnight section.  It can be found here.

That could be an idea.  :) We could think up various ideas for skins (colors and characters or scenes) and put them up for a vote.  If others think that might be an interesting idea then we could consider it.

This is actually a great idea! :yes The new background looks really nice and the fact that you can use whatever you feel like is always a plus. I'd certainly like to see more alternatives if you two are up to it! But I wonder, when was the new background in use? I can't remember seeing it in the past 10 years. :unsure:

I think it was in use pre-2008, but I am not sure as it predates my membership as well.

Wow, it sure has been a long time since I saw that old theme. Not just the background, but the text of things like forum titles are blue instead of green. (If I remember correctly, we first saw green text as part of an April Fools prank by admin and founder Petrie, and we apparently liked the color change enough that we ended up keeping it.)

If we're going to start offering multiple themes, then perhaps the next thing we could try is the character featured in the read/unread icons. Currently, we're stuck with Petrie, and previously if we wanted to change that, it had to be an admin's decision. Perhaps with this new site, it might be possible to have all five of the main characters (or perhaps even more characters) be available and let us have the ability to chose whichever one we like.

That's pretty darn cool and multiple options are always good. Thanks zero-point!

It's been so long that I forgot what the background had looked like. I only remember that the background changed to it's current version.

As for other ideas, I'm still interested in the idea of a potential collaboration for doing artwork of the gang of five/seven looking over the Great Valley for the background.

I found one flaw with the skin though that mostly affects the MLP thread. The black text is visible.
Growing up I was a big LBT fan and had seen all movies and TV series episodes. On the forum, I was formerly known as Hypnobrai until Nov 11, 2017.

In recent years, I have gained an interest in the production of The Land Before Time, particularly the deleted scenes of the original film. New discoveries have been made in the last few years and continue to be made, so I feel that it is a good time to contribute.

I have always loved sharpteeth more than any other creatures in the franchise, especially the fourteenth film's Carnotaurus, the fifth film's Sharptooth, and especially the original Sharptooth.

I am a former administrator of the LBT wiki, having been active from 2017 to 2019.

157 registered members on Dec 7th, The Chronicler joined on Dec 26 and is member #196. That's about a 25% increase in just 19 days.
Also, I'm on the front page in that snapshot, hooray! :DD
