I'm making some on DA now.
It is real easy to do. :lol:
It seems like the sort of thing someone probably beat me to already. If that's the case, only thing to do is the beat them at their own game! :lol
And since these posters are a form of parody, they are protected as free speech, not copyright infringement. :D
EDIT: While they are legal, some people on DA can construe the rules there to prohibit them, so they have been taken down. I'll post them here instead.

I told them. They told me that even if it IS the law that they are protected as parody, Deviantart still prohibits it. As a private organization, it can do that. DA was probably pressured into it by the RIAA and the big companies. It's stupid, really. A copyright's purpose is to protect the intellectual property from being used to interfere with the holder's ability to profit off of it. Distributing copies of the movies or selling pirated DVDs IS a proven way to leech off their profits, while captioning a few still shots from the movies will do nothing to harm their money-making. <_<
EDIT: Does anyone have a screencap of Topsy from movie 11 when he is lovestruck by Tria? Or her for him? I can easily make something good out of that one. I'll have others either way.

I did this years ago, and they were pretty frickin' good.....but I have no idea where they are now. Lost somewhere in my picture folder.......which has more than 5,000 images. I am NOT looking forward to organizing those! :bang Of course they could have been on my database server when it crashed....I don't know. I've got too much data to keep track of it all. I need to set up a way to search my entire network simultaneously. I can't find ANYTHING. As it is now, I have to search every hard drive on the network separately. When you're not even sure what the filename is, it can take HOURS even with a search feature!
As for your posters.....my favorite one is the one about stupidity. The other ones just aren't very good IMO. I only make a poster when it's either insanely funny or witty...or if it makes you think.

I'm glad you appear to be alone in thinking that. I'm not sure WHAT it takes to make you laugh, LBTlover. That "stupidity" one was kinda lame. Maybe you miss having your own available. I would welcome you to add them to this thread if you can find them. I didn't think this was 100% original. Then again, even if it is not totally original, at least it is popular here... with most people! :lol

Crude humor mostly. I wouldn't want to post most of my motivational posters here because they're not exactly "appropriate." :lol I also find certain witticisms quite funny as well as reactions to certain things (though these have to be moving animation most of the time). I find the way things are said to be funny too. The way Petrie asked "It..it booms?" in the TV series was priceless! I watched it over and over till I couldn't make me laugh anymore.....which was like 150 times. :lol Oh and Mr. Clubtail hitting Guido in LBT 12 was a side splitter as well. "That's a Bopper!" :lol:

^^Nah. It's not that it's not crude enough. It's plenty crude. The problem is, the poster doesn't include anything that's not painfully obvious. No duh two dinosaurs are heavy. And the one about the "Big where it counts" would be funny if it were a picture of a really cheesy smile or something.
Now, here's an idea for a good motivational poster. A character with a really surprised expression. Caption would be:
WHOOPS!
Wrong Hole
Now that's funny because you don't naturally think of that when you see the picture by itself.

The best thing about it is there's many ways to perceive it. If your head is in the gutter you could perceive it one way, but there are many other ways to perceive it as well....and those ways expand depending on the nature of the image used in the caption.

It's better than the first. I think we have to aim for something a bit more obvious. For example, it isn't common knowledge that Pterano is the uncle of anyone unless you know the movies well. Everyone around here knows that, but not in too many other places. The expressions of the Triceratops's in my last three posters give it away. Topsy is afraid/shocked, Cera is surprised, and Tria is... feeling like every adult female has the right to feel about a male whom she is legitimately attracted to. :blink:

But with all due respect from two people who have never ever linked a certain type of story to this board. You are by far not the only one to be into that kind of stuff and it is everybody's private business. But the GOF is not the place for it and if people actually tell you about this (while in many cases people may not go so far as to tell what is bothering them) you should not discard this lightly or make fun of them.

I'm not actually "into" that sort of thing, regardless of an ill-planned story on my part. That was a mistake, mainly one geared to see the limits of what I could write.

No, you were right. I don't care much for the films anymore, but you and many others here do. This is a place on the net where what is or has been dear to you is to be kept in respect, and I trampled all over it. That is my fault and mine alone. The next material made here will be of even more G rated quality. I'm just about out of material to use for that other stuff, and even if I wasn't, I wouldn't make more of them. I've been steering clear from that game since the sex talk got really bad, and hoping any rare and clean posts I made would turn things around, but I've given up, seeing nothing has changed. I do not condone what that topic has turned into, so I've been finished there for some time now, and I intend to remain so until it's kept clean.
Secondly, I am NOT a prude. I do have an appreciation for sex humor, and I frequently tell sex jokes to those I know in person. I even like to go to comedy clubs, for Pete's sake! However, LBT and sex talk? I've seen pictures and come across fanfics about any of the Gang in sexual situations, and it has scarred my mind to an extent. Talk of sex and LBT only reopens those scars.
To those who say things about us knowing what sex is, keep in mind that I don't object to this for personal reasons. I believe in freedom of expression, and if I was just worried about getting personally offended, I'd stay out of this. However, I'm much more worried about the reputation of the GOF.
That being said, I will not keep the original topic of this thread from changing any further than it has.

If you need to bring it up with whoever you want please do in a PM. Some people like it and some don't. Caustizer has a right to like it every bit as much as you have a right not to like it. I don't know what mental scars people do and do not have. If you don't wish to see it, your wish has been granted. Those posters are gone from here, but are on my photobucket account. That's a cool shot, though. I get the cleanest images from playing the film in my computer's DVD player, then pausing the shot and copying the screen into paint.net, then send it through the motivator, then photobucket, before linking it here.
The fuzzier shots of mine were made by simply watching an episode on the land before time funsite (thanks Austin!) and pausing a shot, then capturing the screen, and repeating the process from there. I'll have another couple up soon.
P.S. You really love flyers, don't you? :)

The only way I'm able to get LBT screenshots is through Youtube, which is a major shame.

Do you have the movies on DVDs? You can easily play them on most computers, pause them, and capture the screen, then do a little editing to get a good image.

Actually, it may not be as inaccurate as you might think. Some birds like ostriches and ground hornbills have eyelashes, and many at least two other dinosaurs in Triceratops's order (Tianyulong (http://scienceblogs.com/notrocketscience/2009/03/tianyulong_-_a_fuzzy_dinosaur_that_makes_the_origin_of_feath.php) and Psittacosaurus) had hair-or-bristle like structures on their bodies. So while a little far-fetched, it's not impossible that some dinosaurs could have developed eyelashes. I even know of one wildlife artist, Peter Schouten (http://www.peterschouten.com.au/), who illustrated dinosaurs with eyelashes for a book called Feathered Dinosaurs. (Granted, he didn't research all of his subjects perfectly, and some of them have inaccuracies, but I figure it must say something for a natural history artist of his caliber to illustrate dinosaurs with eyelashes.)

I'm no expert, but I doubt that any sort of feathers or hair would have developed on the Triceratops. A raptor maybe, at least the feathers. Now the public has to remove the ideas of what it thought raptors looked like for all these years. :blink: Doesn't that article state that all feathered dinosaurs so far are Theropods?

All feathered dinosaurs known so far are theropods, but not all dinosaurs with hair-or-bristle-like integumentary structures. The dinosaur discussed in the article, Tianyulong, has hollow, rigid filaments on its neck, back, and tail (it apparently possessed a coat of shorter bristles all over its body as well). This is significant because it belongs to a very "primitive" (I dislike using the word because it implies an evolutionary hierarchy) group of ornithischian dinosaurs, the heterodontosaurs. If its filaments are the product of the ornithischians common ancestry with the saurischians (the group that contains theropods), then this could mean that all ornithischians had the genetic potential for fuzziness. If it evolved its bristles independently of the theropods, then evidently it isn't too difficult for such structures to develop, and they could have appeared in other ornithischians in the same way. Furthermore, evidence for such integument is present in Triceratops's own group, the Ceratopsia. One of the most...ahem...primitive ceratopsians, Psittacosaurus, had a line of quill-like structures along the top of its tail, similar to the filaments on Tianyulong. And (I completely forgot to mention this in my last post :slap) Triceratops itself has apparently been found to have bristle-like structures on its skin. I am unaware of the precise nature of these, and know that there are skin impressions from Triceratops that show that it had scales as well; I am also, admittedly, doubtful that real Triceratops would have had Tria-style eyelashes, but the concept is not completely impossible.

And in any case, it is not proven. I'm noticing a lot of "ifs" in that.
Except for the scales. I don't find that at all hard to believe.

^ Of course it's not proven (assuming you're talking about the eyelashes thing. The fact that some ornithischians were bristly is no less certain than Triceratops's scales). I'm just saying that a Triceratops with eyelashes can't be completely written off as a scientific impossibility. :p

Ironically, Hypsilophodon was once believed to be a tree-dwelling dinosaur.

Well, I have doubts that Hyp has either sticky pads or claws that are suited to climb trees. They just needed a scene with him fleeing the mother raptor, so they threw that together. :lol:
And even if monkeys may lack the same kind of opposable thumbs, odds are that they still possess greater "thumbpower" than a dinosaur, or at the very least, a Hypsilophodon would lack the thumbs, claws, or adhesive pads necessary to climb a tree like that. Probably. :rolleyes:
P.S. Ruby, being far closer related to a chicken than humans, might very well have squawked like that. XD
