The Welcome Center / Ladies? Gentlemen? After 4 years, I have returned
« on: April 18, 2015, 01:25:04 AM »
Heey I didn't know you made this topic! thats awesome to see that you're coming back to the GoF though. welcome back Tim! :D actually now that I think of it I have kinda also disappeared from here for quite a long time, I used to be sooo active back in the day. but to be honest my reasons are kind of the same as yours, life has been so crazy and hectic for me, like a roller coaster, and ive just been trying to figure things out :p i would love to also return and be more active im just not sure where exactly i can be more active, since i am not so much into lbt anymore (well not as much as i used to be, i still like the series though). but who knows, maybe a new project or something will catch my interest and keep me coming back a lot again :yes

Gamers Zone / Video Game Streaming
« on: October 22, 2014, 11:48:51 AM »
I always wanted to try making some let's play videos, not so sure about streaming since the idea of doing something live like that is kind of intimidating, especially for the first time :p but like littlefoot1616 said, I'm not really sure what to do or say in those videos, since a majority of the time when I'm playing games I'm kinda silent cause I'm focusing on playing the game. Actually this kind of makes me wish some of us GoF members could get together and play some minecraft and even make a video that way, that game is so unpredictable and hilarious at times, and just one of the most fun games there is to play together with friends, there are so many amazing mods for that game to customize the experience however you like. Like I put together a version that has so many random structures and dungeons generate in the world as well as a huge variety of biomes that it gives players a reason to explore again, you never know what you're gonna find there is so much stuff, that game is just crazy fun when you make a private server with your friends :D

not necessarily the best game out there, but this is one of the single best tracks I have ever heard in an mmorpg, it is amazing, i cant really describe how awesome it is but it is practically a masterpiece. i could really listen to it all day!

Gamers Zone / frustrating gameplay, not violent content
« on: April 13, 2014, 03:33:18 PM »
This is exactly why I tend to not enjoy games with a higher level of challenge. They just end up really annoying me and make me not want to even play them. When I play games, I like to just be able to relax and play, not die 5 million times on the same battle and throw my controller across the room :p

The Fridge / "Y'see, I've beeen having these sleep-stories..."
« on: March 31, 2014, 11:37:49 AM »
I keep having dreams where I take my bike and leave my house to go somewhere, but then can't find my way back and it starts getting dark. I have no idea why I dream that so often, in the summer I bike ride to the park a lot but I have no problem getting back even if it starts getting dark.

I will say though I find dreams in general very disturbing no matter what kind they are. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it is such a lonely, depressing, isolated feeling when I have them and then remember them later. Whenever there is people in my dream, even my own family, they rarely even acknowledge me when I call out to them, even when they do speak i can never remember what they said, and whenever im running or in danger, everybody just stares at me lifelessly. I really dont like the feeling at all and its always a relief when I wake up from them to know that the real world still exists and I'm not alone.

An RPG game for the SNES called Earthbound.
That game is phenomenal! It is one of, if not my most favorite SNES game :D

As for me, I've been playing a whole lot of FFXIV A Realm Reborn with my sister (she likes to watch). Man I will say I was not expecting an online final fantasy game to be this darn good. The graphics are the best I've ever seen in an mmorpg and the game has sooo much content it just keeps you busy for hours on end and is a whole lot of fun. Tons of classes, epic party boss battles, and square enix is so great about pushing out updates quickly. And best of all it has flawlessly built-in xbox 360 pc controller support :wow
It is also my favorite game. I like that one and Secret of Mana, but Earthbound is much higher on the list. It's MUCH MORE unique. I've never played an online Final Fantasy game, but hopefully I can at some point. I love Final Fantasy, so I'd love to try it.

I'm all the way to Stonehenge base.  :DD
Yea Earthbound is for sure a very unique game and I also really like Secret of Mana as well. Ah man thinking about these games brings back such awesome memories from my childhood :angel

And I do recommend trying this new final fantasy online, it is such an amazing game! Only downside is it requires a monthly subscription of 15$ but in all honestly I think it is much better for the integrity and longevity of the game that they have that. I have played so many free games in my life and I can say I have never seen a game receive so much attention and new content updates as this game has. Square Enix is really an amazing company :yes

Gamers Zone / HD Remakes
« on: March 26, 2014, 08:17:19 PM »
I actually really like the idea of HD remixes for old classic games. It sort of gives me a reason to go back and play the game and remember how awesome it is. Plus a lot of games haven't aged well at all in terms of graphics, ffvii being probably one of the worst offenders . To me it's refreshing and a lot of fun to re-play a remastered classic, and if i see one for a game i really love i will probably most certainly end up buying it :p

Gamers Zone / Best Scary games
« on: August 06, 2013, 02:20:09 PM »
The only games I think could actually be called some of the best scary games are the Silent Hill games. Specifically the 2nd and 3rd ones. They are without a doubt the scariest games I have ever played. Everything was just so masterfully done: The music, environments, story, creatures, etc. Those games really give you a sense of just how hopeless, lonely, and terrifying a situation like that can be. The only games I can say come close are Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, Amnesia, and maybe Scratches. But really you will never play anything quite like Silent Hill 2 and 3. Even though the graphics are a bit dated, I still highly recommend them if you are a fan of actual *scary* games, which it seems are quite difficult to find today.
