College Letters

As of now, I have letters from

Siena College
NYU
St. Lawrence University
Temple University
Loyola College
Hofstra University
VCU
Seton Hall University

And they are all structured the same way. Except of St. Lawrence, which offered a free hat. I actually sent in the sheet that they sent me for the free hat.

They all give me reasons why they are good schools, and they also give me a password for some internet thing.

What do you think on this?

Unfortunately, schools and their quality change so often and it takes so long to graduate that even getting a personal recommendation from someone isn't a good indicator. They all want your money and they'll say anything to get it. Choosing a good college is like gambling. -_-

You could do some research on the internet, but even that may not be fully honest or have enough information for you.

Having finished up recently, I'll say when looking for colleges, know all the bases.

- Know what you want to take, and see what types of courses the school needs you to take, and they won't all be the same.
- See if they'll give you any scholarships based on past academic or social achievements.
- Check the entrance requirements--are you an ideal student? Do they need essays or entrance exams?
- Visit the college. Can you live in this area for up to four years? Are there things to do around campus? Off campus? Ask lots of questions if you find that they haven't answered what concerned you the most.

Yale University
UC Berkeley
Rochester Institute of Technology
Massacusetts Institute of Technology

I'm not sure of anywhere else. Yet.

I've tried visiting some colleges and it was like visiting a lawyer. All they want is for you to sign some papers and give them money. It was a joke. I left more confused than when I started.

I care about the math that they offer. It is not a bad school for math; quite the opposite.

Instead of picking one right off maybe you can cut the list down to half the that to half. But before you do that write down what you want to study, what qualities you want ect. Then start eliminating. That may may the final choice easier to choose.

Those which are best known abroad are Harvard, Yale, and Princeton.

They're good if you can afford $40,000 per semester.

: Other than that, they're not that much different from state schools.

Actually, I have already looked into my interests. These are some of the schools that I thought of.
