Just because somebody else used a song in their tribute doesn't mean you can't. I'm sure DH wouldn't mind if you used My Immortal. It's actually one of the more popular choices in terms of songs to use for AMV's (and for good reason, it's a beautiful song).

Just remember that if you post it on YouTube, be prepared to deal with copyright infringement. AMV's are not safe from copyright infringement laws, especially LBT ever since Universal went on their takedown spree.

And what makes that unfortunate is that mvs should be safe from take downs as they are fair use. Even the song can be fair use; just look at Youtube. How often do you see a link to buy the MP3 of a song nowadays? It's quite common now. There's less takedowns of a song, more links to make a profit off of said song for the copyright holders. And the footage? Definitely fair use, as only short clips are used and it's not a link to the full movie from start to finish.

But some copyright holders deny that mvs are fair use and take them down anyway. A shame.

And do I mind if Bruton uses the same song? Not really. I've seen a lot of music videos that use the same song for the same show/movie/etc.

Anyways, I've got a question and figured this old topic would be the place to put it. Seeing as I'm a member of youtube now I can make videos, and I found a site called "clip converter" to drag the clips I want. There's just one problem: it doesn't allow me to drag my clips into the audio section. So I can't use just any song. I'm offered a selection of audio clips. But there's not a ton. How do I get just any song that I want, and put it in youtube editor to use for a video? Much appreicted.

Um, what's a good video making program I can download for free that's safe? Because I can only choose from a selection of songs on youtube's editor, and I don't think it's possible to put other ones on there.

There is Pinnacle Videospin that's free. Windows comes with a free editor, Windows Movie Maker, or Live Movie Maker depending on the version of Windows you are using. There is also Openshot, but that's not available on Windows yet, but its slated to be released on Windows in December.

I have windows, but I can't find the windows movie maker I should have. As for pinnacle, I assume it is safe for my computer?

The program once I get it installed. I think it's because of something my uncle set up to protect the computer. Anyways, do you know where I can find Windows Movie Maker?

Click the Start button, then type in Windows Live Movie Maker, and wait. It should show up in the search.

You can download TeamViewer for free. And no, it doesn't have a webcam option available. Instead, it will show me your desktop screen. Depending on the options, I can either have control of your desktop right away or after I ask for control and you give it to me. Keep in mind you will not lose control yourself at any point, so you don't have to be worried about that. Using TeamViewer, I can see for myself what is going on and from there have an easier time coming up with a solution.
