Changing Startup Sound

I have just been screwing around with windows some more and I have found a way to change the startup sound in windows xp. I have a part of the land before time audio track. It's the sound when Littlefoot first finds the great valley. I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in changing their startup sound to part of a LBT song or soundtrack. The startup sound is the sound that your computer makes when it has the blue screen and it says "welcome". It's sort of annoying. I prefer the land before time james horner track instead. Anyone interested?

I've already done that with other sounds, but I think the only sound thing you can put in place of the sounds are .wav files. Plus, if you had a music track, it would continue until it coursed through the entire song.

That's why ya split it and convert it. My startup sound is only 39 seconds and it's LBT.

I can easily convert mp3 to wav. Then ya just split it down to a few seconds.

Okay. Here's my existing startup sound in wav format. You may use it if you like. I personally like a startup sound that lasts for more than 4 seconds.

Exit sound - Shania Twain saying "I'm outta here!" and then walking off and shutting the door

LOL I love that exit sound

I actually don't use start or close sounds. I'm afraid I'll leave my headphones or speakers turned up too high when I start or stop the computer and either wake up somebody or break something

I always worry about that too. I can't live without my startup sound now that I have it though.

It would be okay if my volume level was consistant but:
I keep my computer volume at almost 50% when my headphones are plugged in to get decent volume.

I keep my computer's volume at about 5% to 10% when my speakers are plugged in because they can pump out so much.

If my speakers ever came on at 50%, I think my head would explode and half the block would wake up

I'm constantly working with audio and video files that have very different volume levels. If I have my speakers at 2% with one of my LBT tv series, it is so loud that the house shakes. Then, I have to have the level at 30% when working with things such as vocal removal (which I do quite freqently). I might think that the speakers are at a very low level and shut down the computer and get blasted. That happened once. It vibraded like when a jet plane went by and I couldn't hear too well for a couple hours after that. Luckily, I was home alone at the time.
