I went for a walk around town today and thought I'd take some pictures. Here's a few of them.

Here's the first pic. I walked down to the public park after school and took this really neat picture of the swing set. I think it looks pretty good at this angle. ^^

I was following the sidewalk down Main Street and heading for the High School. It was a pretty long walk down and I thought I could get some really neat perspective if I lowered the tripod closer to the ground.

I walked down to the High School and got this picture of the Crazy Mountains. You get the best views of them from the High School. ^^

Just me walking down the alleyway. Across the street from the IGA (a small grocery store on 3rd street) The white building with the blue stripe is the Civic Center.

And here's one more picture. Airport Hill. Just behind my school.

It's called Airport Hill because if you go to the top there's a landing strip for small, private air craft. The letters on the hill are SGHS, which are the initials for my school. "Sweet Grass County High School."

Why are the mountains called "Crazy Mountains"?

The park picture reminded me of bygone days...the parks still exist in this village but they're falling apart and they've become centers for drugs and domestic disputes. <_<

They call them the Crazy Mountains because sometime in the 19th Century there was said to be a mentally challenged Native American woman who lived up there. The local tribe believed that crazy women were sacred and should be left alone, so they let her out into those mountains. I'm not kidding. That's why they call them the Crazy Mountains.

I walked down to the fairgrounds today and I took some more pictures.

This was taken on the way down there of the Crazy Mountains. The exact same mountains that I took at the High School, but more white.

Just goofing off with my tripod and timer on this one. Just thought I'd get a picture of myself walking down the road. The fairgrounds are about a mile out of town.

This is at the fairgrounds. The place is completely deserted except for several cows here and there.

Posed in front of one the signs painted on one of the buildings. This is what the fairground's name used to be. Now it's just called Sweet Grass County Fairgrounds.

This is where they have all the rodeos and stuff like that.

Finally, a picture I took of myself posing on the bleachers.
