I still feel saddened that I took the archive offline not to long ago for good, so I'm trying to find ways to put what I had on there on this board to keep it alive on the web. :)
I had offered little clips of the songs on the site: I'd like to go one step further and offer the full song. You can play it in the browser if you click on it, its Shockwave Flash (who doesn't have that). Not much you can do with the file itself (can't burn them) so copyrights ought to be null.

Actually you are wrong. There is a way to download these songs. simply right click it and click save target as. You download the file to the desktop and get an swf to mp3 converter online. Or you can simply have media player classic play the file. It works just fine however in order to get the full quality you must convert the songs to mp3 format. They then take up like 4,000k instead of like 900k but the quality is significantly better in mp3 format.

lossy encoding (the swf file) --> another lossy encoding (mp3 file) = really bad sounding file :blink:
Forget full quality....you only get that from the original source file. The increased file size only means it takes more space. It won't sound better. Play both of your encodings in MPC if you don't believe me.

Huh. I thought it sounded a lot better when I put it in mp3 fromat. Probably because I was then able to play the file on itunes and have the built in equlizer and audio enhancement features enabled. That would be my guess cuz it definently sounded better in mp3 but when I played them both in mpc, they sounded the same.

I dont know how. I tried the save target thing but its broke and wont play. Only way I can hear is clicking but it takes me to a blank page that has it playing *shrugs* better then nothing. *sways more!*
Also does this site have lyrics to the songs from the movies here? I know most of them...but singing kareoke its easy enough to mess up. And the internet isnt very good at having song lyrics cept for if we hold on together...that one I know well enough lol

I had this problem, too. You need a download manager, like FlashGet (for Internet Explorer) or DownThemAll (for Mozilla Firefox). Just copy the URL, then add it to the files you want the download manager to download. I prefer the Mozilla Firefox/DownThemAll duo, myself.

These songs also include the LBT 9 and 10 end credits song and also a song I found that's "if we hold on together" being played on a piano by Terry Lester (I think), so it's a good idea to download it even if you have all these already just cuz of that new song. And of course it has the "if we hold on together" song by Diana Ross. I hope some people need these. Anyways, I am trying to reduce the amount of piracy on these by requiring a password to access them. Details are on my site. ;)

Alright. So, I've just downloaded your zipped thing, gotten the encryption key, and listened to a few of the MP3s. I've got a few gripes. First of all, there are places in the MP3s where you can hear "popping", where the music gets interrupted. Also, there are places where parts of some of the songs got left out. However, my biggest beef is something concerning the "Things Change" MP3. When I listened to it, I could swear that it was at least a key higher or something than the original version! Listen to it yourself, then compare it to the original version on the film (or even a video of the song posted by any of the members here, like pokeplayer984). You may notice the huge difference. I don't know if any of the other files are affected by this, but it may well be possible. How did you obtain these files, anyway?

Oddly enough, this happened with the LBT song CD (From LBT 2 to 4 with Aria's version of If We Hold On Together). I still haven't decided if this is a glitch or some songs are *supposed* to be different from the movie / original versions.
The most painful example (from a musical perspective).
If We Hold On Together - Diana Ross. In the key of C
If We Hold On Together - Ducky and Cera. In the key of *almost* C# (which makes it nearly impossible to play along with because, chances are, you'll be out of tune), as if there was some pitch bending somewhere. I'll be honest, I never played it off the CD. I just played the files I ripped from the CD to my computer.
I don't know if any of the other files are affected by this, but it may well be possible.
If LBTlover's files aren't good copies of the songs (I didn't try his files), I have recordings of the songs that I made. As far as I know these are very good copies of the songs (LBT 5 and later).

Usually covers of original songs are going to sound different...so I wouldn't be surprised of a key change. Even if you pitch it down a half octave, its still a tad more upbeat than Diana's version.

Most of the songs are on Youtube too, and there's like a million ways to save Youtube videos on your computer. If I wanted the songs, that's what I'd do.

For sure....this just protects our back since we're offering people the chance to listen, but we're not condoning mp3 downloading or anything like that.

what i did is record the songs directly from the movies. i have almost all of them. is technically legal too as long as you dont share them and only use for personal use

I did that, too. The results are actually very good.
If we gave out the full-quality music, people wouldn't need a source (aka. the DVDs) to get their own high-quality music from and therefore could have an effect on sales.
That is one of many reasons why the full-quality versions aren't offered. Since this is Petrie's doing, I will let him explain further if he wishes.

Any tips to folks who want to do that? I'm happy with the songs quality as they have been done, but some may prefer doing that so they can get high quality backups.

-Download and install the KM Player.
-Run your dvd through the program.
-Right click anywhere on the screen and there's something called "Capture", hover and select "Audio Capture"
-Default should be 16-bit 44khz .wav files. Click on the ... to check.
-Change your file path if you want to save the file somewhere else.
-Click start whenever you want to start
Voila, full-quality files.

What is up with the When your Big song it really doesn't sound like it was from the movie? It was one of my favorite songs. Love Very Important Creature, Always There, Bad Luck, Beyond the Mysterious Beyond, The Land Before Time VII End Credits Suite, Creepy Crawlies, Girls and Dads, Adventuring, The Song of Boredom, The Mad Song, and Imaginary Friends songs.
