Best LBT-art ever
« on: July 15, 2017, 08:02:43 am »
-Wow! - I breathed out, when the coolest LBT-commission that ever painted, was finished.
Ten characters in one picture and a detailed elaborate background - such works is created not every year and not by every artist. When I just planned my idea, I wanted something really grand: with a bunch of characters and a lot of different objects on the background. I did not choose digimons or pokemons, although I really love them, but I chose the favorite cartoon of my childhood - Land Before Time. Now I can say for sure: this art has become the best LBT-picture in the world, because there are no other such detailed drawings of this cartoon on the Internet.
Here is the original picture. You can download it on a direct link, because the size of the original picture is too large (14 mb, 6500x3700 pixels).

What is depicted in the picture? To answer this question, we will have to take a good look at it. First of all, unlike the originals, dinosaurs became more anthropomorphic, standing on their feet and dressing up in clothes. In front of the pool, we see the house, which gives reason to assume that the plot of the picture is unfolding in our time. However, not all so simple. The facade of the house, as well as its furnishings, correspond to the European realities of the second half of the last century. At the same time, in the kitchen you can see an electric stove and a clock made in a modern style. Here, and conclude "Yeah, it's just a well-preserved to our time English house", but here is some else. Near the house freely grow palm trees, and palm trees mean a tropical climate and a strong proximity to the sea. Therefore, the picture shows exactly not our time and not our place, and in general, it is unclear. All this can be only one reasonable explanation - the action of the picture occurs in the intertemporal place betwen worlds. This also explains why dinosaurs stood on their hind legs and began to use all the things of modern civilization.

Now about our favorite characters. Who does what on this art.
Littlefoot - just dives into the pool and enjoys life.
Shorty - tells something to Ali, hoping to make a good impression and to cause her sympathy.
Ali - does not listen to the Shorty, for she is too immersed in her thoughts. It seems that her head is occupied only by dreams about Littlefoot.
Chopmper - is the most cheerful and carefree character. He pulled a rolling pin and a saucepan from the kitchen, and just fooled around running around the pool.
Ruby - trying to explain to the Chomper that if he do not return the kitchen utensils, breakfast will be cooked later and turn into lunch.
Spike - with his head plunged into his favorite occupation of eating juicy foliage from the bush.
Ducky - is swimming. Just swimming in the pool, because swimming is what she likes more.
Cera - unhappy, as always. Feels sorry that she was at this time and in this place. She wants everything to be over soon.
Petrie - trying for a while to forget that he can fly, and jump from the palm into the water.
Rhett - shakes the palm tree to prevent Petrie from doing what he has planned.
If you are interested in characters one by one, here I posted a pictures with each of them separately.

If you look closely at the drawing, you can see a lot of interesting conclusions. In this picture, a lot of different references are hidden. But I will not deprive you of the pleasure of analyzing everything yourself. You can review the drawing and draw conclusions by yourself.
Art is commissioned by Deborah Budyanskaya.

P.S. I dont know why, but picture of a Chomper does not load. Use direct link to download it.
Forever in the past.

I absolutely like design of characters and general design of scene!
Debora Budyanskaya, just thank-thank you! And thank you Rustam for sending commission. :D

Okay, I'm not really that much of a fan of the anthropomorphic part but... boy this is some huge drawing. And I just can't help but laugh when I see this, this is so funny :D

Littlefoot uses the ring becuase he can't swim or just for fun? I know from my childhood that jumping into swimming rings is tons of fun :D

Cera with a hearted swimsuit... perfect! (oh the irony xD)  Also, she looks fat :lol

Ducky... so adorable :wub

Petrie trying to dive it from above is accurate, yep, yep, yep :)

First I thought Spike was missing!  :lol

Chomper  :spit I daresay the artist has drawn him most accurate... that expression is lovely! :yes

Ruby is taking the job of cooking for the bunch? :D

Ali looks of bit odd to be honest

Shorty is in his element, bragging about something, obviously :D

Rhett is being mean  :p

Love the little details  :exactly
Note to self: finally create that signature lazy bum! :P

This is fantastic. Chomper is easily my favorite in this, followed by Ducky and Littlefoot. They seem to be enjoying themselves the most. The Ozzie poster is also really awesome and I kinda wish I had one of my own. It seems Ducky has some coloring chalk beside her? Also I just noticed the night flowers beside the beach ball as well as "LITTLEFOOT+ALI =" on the fence.

Oh this is great!  :lol Though I am not usually much for anthro-LBT art, this is done with great skill and humor.  I especially love all the little in-jokes, like Ruby's (or her parent's?) kitchen having an eggs poster in it, Spike in a bush eating, and the Littlefoot&Ali graffiti on the fence.  I would absolutely love to see further art done in this style.

Yes, near to Ducky is a chalk. This explains the presence of the inscription on the fence.

so, it was her? lol

Stupid me, I tried to read what is written on chalk box and didn't think about general presence of this chalk. XD

Btw, why do Night Flowers glow in the light of day? Would better to draw tis picture in the night, with the light coming from the house.  :yes

Despite the fact that last summer was drawn a huge commission with a bunch of characters from LBT, it was not enough for me and I almost immediately began to think about its plot continuation. In the previous figure, not all the characters were listed, so I decided to add the remaining ones to the new drawing. Not all, of course, but for now only two. Unfortunately, the author of the previous commission (Deborah Budyanskaya) could not take up the new one due to the employment of other projects, so it was necessary to draw no less talented Lydia Dolgusheva to draw a new pic.

So, what happens on the picture? If you have already looked the drawing in which Littlefoot and the company frolic in front of the pool, then it will be easy for you to notice that on top of Ruby's house ends with an under-painted roof. If you stand right in front of the house and lift your head up, we'll see Etta, who was planning to jump from the roof to the rest of the company. A silly Wild Arms tries to keep her from "falling", naively believing that since he himself does not know how to fly, then Etta will certainly break up, falling down.
Here are some images of characters on a transparent background.

This is not the end of the continuation! After all, there is Hyp, which in the very first figure is behind the fence, and many other characters that have not yet been portrayed. So wait for the next part. I do not know when it will be, but the idea is already there, so sooner or later I will complete it.

And here I thought that there was enough going on in this picture. Great stuff! Do you have plans on extending it in all 4 directions? :lol

Also a random note, looks like there was a perfect reference for Ducky's head at that angle Ducky123! :p

The next picture will show what is behind the fence. But I still do not have a clear understanding of which characters and in what situation should be portrayed. Maybe Hip and Dil? Or someone else from the villains?

As promised, I post the third part of the big comic about the adventures of the characters of LBT visiting Ruby. This time we find out what is happening on the other side of the fence, because on the very first picture we saw only Hip's fingers clasping the top of the fence.
The commission was painted by Lydia Dolgusheva.

The entire plot of the picture can be placed in a dialogue of four replicas, one from each character:
– And I say that I climb! And you will not interrupt me, Guido! If you will argue - I'll smack you!
– Whatever you say, Hyp. I just thought it was impolite to go through where you were not invited.
– Do not you dare insult Guido! You though and more than me twice, but more silly in the whole four!
– Let's get out of here, Skitter. Do not swear with this big guy, you never know what he has in mind.
As you can see, Hyp wants to climb over the fence to Littlefoot and the rest of the kids. Guido, although he is on the same team as Hyp (this is seen in uniform), still fears him and does as his older friend wants. And Skitter, despite his small stature, bravely rebuffs Hyp, which thoroughly worries the uncompromising Lizzie.
And of course, I post each of the characters on a transparent background separately.

After three drawings of the LBT, there were almost no "good" characters that would have been depicted on them. I do not want to depict "bad" ones, they will not fit into the plot. And, adults simply will not enter the picture because of their large size. Therefore, if I decide to order a fourth continuation, it will definitely be the last.

I love the new additions to the original picture.  :DD The facial expressions on Hyp and the tinysaursuses are absolutely perfect in capturing their views of the situation.  Though now I am almost tempted to write a story about how their game of Soccer went.  :p

Also, kudos on the inside joke with the optometrist poster.  :lol

Can't say anything new... Because t is wonderful as before!!!

So, no Sharptooth with bazooka... :( Though yeah, he would not fit into the general picture. Only if he's not hidden menace rising above peaceful life of our heroes in this picture. :/

A great drawing as always but clicking the full-size picture of Guido redirects to the Hyp image. In any case, I love the way the artist utilized the characters' personalities while making the whole scene seem perfectly natural. :yes
