Well, no offense, but I hated the song.  The movie did work rather well with it though.  The only thing that just didn't seem right was the egg going so fast.  It looked...unnatural.  Other than that, it was great.

I had it go fast so that I could fit the entire scene that I wanted in there.

As I stated, this was requested. I did not choose the song. SWHalo2 did. I don't like the song too much myself. I don't hate it, though. It's got a nice beat to it. Catchy.

SWHalo2 chose this song because they felt it described Littlefoot's struggles very well.

As a sucker for anything Metallica, watching this one was almost required of me.

Well, the video is pretty decent. You couldn't really hope for too much mixing LBT with Metallica, they just don't mix easily. I'd say you did a really good job of it, probably came within inches of the proverbial ceiling, but again, that ceiling wasn't too high to begin with.

I didn't like the music, but I can see that's not saying anything new. Something a little better/calmer would have improved my viewing pleasure here tenfold. But, as you said, this was a request you recieved, so I can't really fault you for the music choice.

Well, personally the video was composed very well! And the lyrics did match the scenes at some parts! But...the lyrics together really didn't suit the video. The song "Unforgiven" is about someone who is treated horribly to the point where his soul is shattered.

That doesn't sound like littlefoot

You can make a wonderful music video, but maybe try to use a song that really matches the character/situation you are doing the video about. And don't worry about people not liking the music

Some of the lyrics didn't seem to fit Littlefoot too well, but as I listened to it, I found that the song did fit enough to make a workable music video. SWHalo2 felt the song could describe Littlefoot's hardships.

New blood joins this earth
And quickly he's subdued

This would describe Littlefoot's birth, and how, in just a few years (not that long of a time in life) he encounters Mr. Threehorn.

The young boy learns their rules

This describes how Littlefoot learns about the dinosaur segregation from both Mr. Threehorn and his mother.

This is, in my opinion, what Littlefoot would have thought about Sharptooth. In the music video, Sharptooth is the "unforgiven" one due to killing Littlefoot's mother.

They dedicate their lives
To running all of his

This seems to describe Littlefoot's mother and Mr. Threehorn, both wanted Littlefoot to stick to his own kind, whether he agreed to or not. It could also describe Cera's attitude towards Littlefoot a bit.

He tries to please THEM all

This fits how Littlefoot tried to keep his new friends' hopes up that they would find the Great Valley, and tried to be a good leader for them.

He's battled constantly

This could describe how Littlefoot, in a sense, battled through tough times in the Mysterious Beyond, not only physically (with Cera) but emotionally (the loss of his mother).

This fight he cannot win

This could refer to Littlefoot's fight with Cera, and perhaps with Sharptooth as well.

A tired man they see no longer cares

When I see this line, I think of when, after the fight, Littlefoot, too tired to continue the fight, pretty much told Cera to go the wrong way, and indicated that he didn't care what happened to her.

The old man then prepares
To die regretfully

This reminds me of how Littlefoot came back to rescue his friends, and risked his life each time in doing so.

This could describe how Sharptooth wanted revenge on Littlefoot, and how Littlefoot probably wanted revenge on Sharptooth in return.

Yes, but those are only parts of the song. You basically only cut and paste few select lines of the song and matched them with littlefoot. Thus, you lose what the song itself means. I'll post the lyrics and show you how much of the song you forgot.

That's sorta a big chunk. Now, I am not doing this to humiliate you or anything, I just want to show you that you shouldn't lose the meaning of a song in making a fan MV, because then you'd lose the meaning of the video.

Thus, you lose what the song itself means.

However, consider this:
NO song in existance is written about Littlefoot and LBT specifically (except parodies and official LBT songs), therefore one cannot make a song work for LBT without taking it out of context.  As a result, losing what the song originally meant is basically a *must*, especially in a request situation where the requester chose a song that doesn't magically line up with LBT.

And yeah, all songs have a specific meaning when they are written, but that does not mean that meaning has to be upheld when making a music video. Other interpretations can be made, giving the song a new meaning. This isn't the first time I've done this. In my 19 Years of LBT music vid, I took the song My Immortal, which is, from what I heard, a song about pain and loss, and turned it into a more happy song, which was not an easy thing to do.
