It seems we now finally have confirmation that new episodes of Tell Your Tale are being released once every two weeks. (Interestingly, said confirmation came only a day after Episode 13 leaked a few days ago on some languages, supposedly because its release date was accidentally set as April 30 instead of May 30.)

Nothing else of significance to share for now, so here's this week's new episode of Tell Your Tale (and before I even watch it, I can already see this is going to be a big one)...

As Zipp searches through her family history with no satisfaction, Sunny acknowledges that she knows very little about her own family. This causes a magical scrapbook to emerge from a bookshelf, and as Sunny opens it to see picture of both of her parents, she is pulled inside to relive her lost memories, with Zipp looking through all the pages to eventually bring Sunny back out. Among those memories, we learn that Sunny's mom was just as determined as Argyle (Sunny's dad) to prove that the three pony tribes were once friends and that it would be possible to bring them back together and to bring back magic, but the key difference was that while Argyle was content to stay home and study what he already had, Sunny's mom was eager to go out on an adventure to find such answers. However, Sunny last saw her mom as she left to go on one of those expeditions while gifting her a telescope, and not long after Argyle assured Sunny that her mom would always watch over her "from the stars". After Sunny is finally pulled out of the scrapbook, she uses the telescope she got from her mom to watch the stars.

I just want to say that I used to have the head-canon that Sunny's mom was probably some kind of archeologist who wanted to go out on expeditions to find answers that Argyle couldn't find in ancient documents, so I must admit that I feel quite satisfied to see that I came pretty close to what the true canon turned out to be. It should also be noted that, just like with Argyle, it's never specifically stated what happened to Sunny's mom. It's implied that she had left on an expedition and for mysterious reasons never came back, and while Argyle's assurance to Sunny that her mom would watch her "from the stars" suggests she most likely had passed away before the same thing later happened to Argyle, I'm sure I won't be the only one holding out hope that she's only missing and might be seen again someday (though it sure would have been nice if we got to know the name of Sunny's mother). Not to mention, this episode also give us hope that we might eventually learn more about the missing parents of the other main ponies (keep in mind how many seasons of FiM it took before we eventually got to see the parents of Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack).

Yup! Great film, part of Pixar's classic repertoire. I didn't mind Monsters U either honestly

And this isn't calling you out Mu-u-ud Brother, but Mo-o-o will say that those that think that there is no such thing as aliens or other intelligent life out there is quite naive.
Oh, I didn’t mean to imply that I don’t believe alien life exists—I just don’t think it’s visiting Earth. I do believe there are people out there who really have seen strange things, but saying alien visitors and their spaceships are the reason for such phenomena seems like a stretch. That explanation falls more into the category of mythology/folklore than logic/facts, though I do think it’s a lot of fun to imagine (you know me)…

As for the scientific effort to detect alien life—well, that’s a whole other category. To me, the scientific Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) is not only worthwhile but necessary to our understanding of science as a whole. I mean, I couldn’t agree with your thoughts more. The way I’ve always seen it, there isn’t even a question of whether life on other planets exists. The more we explore space, the more we find that the circumstances which led to life evolving on Earth aren’t particularly rare elsewhere, as shown by the examples you mentioned. Going further, I don’t find it hard to believe that life with a level of intelligence similar to ours could exist out there. In fact, it seems quite egotistical to me how some people think humans are the only intelligent forms of life in existence. We live in a universe that’s incomprehensibly vast and filled with far more unknowns than knowns—what makes us so sure we’re alone? “What limited thinking,” indeed!

I'm curious why nobody mentions trying to find life in general...doesn't have to be "big brain" like the humans that we are right now that have evolved from monkeys.
On the topic of less advanced extraterrestrial life, I will say that there was quite a stir in the 90s over a meteorite from Mars, ALH 84001, that supposedly showed fossil evidence of microscopic life. This was later concluded to be inaccurate, but the claim caused a lot of excitement in the scientific community at the time.

All this being said, the question is when and where will we confirm the existence of alien life, and will our own species even survive long enough to do so? I suppose, as Neil deGrasse Tyson put it, “There are times, at least for now, when we must be content to love the questions themselves.”
