Alright, I take back my "give it up already folks" comments. You might actually be able to make this happen.

I'm really close to getting my hands on another tape of the airing from here as well. Things suddenly look very promising  

Is this a new book?

Does the two other books have anything special compared to this one? Anyone got them?

Well, I saw it clear as day on the Laserdisc. I guess it only shows there, which I guess will make more of a reason for the members here to grab it off of eBay ASAP.

I checked the DVD version and it's not on there. I'm definitely going to have to find a way to record the Laserdisc onto my computer.

 

If you want a near-original quality copy of the disc material, this should do the job nicely.

Here's some of his thoughts from some interviews:

PLUME: In the case of Land Before Time, it's up to what, 5 or 6?

BLUTH: Who's counting? It's definitely a cookie-cutter thing.

DP: How do you feel about all the sequels that come out that you don't really have much involvement with? The Land Before Time in particular has had many sequels... We've seen other companies do it too, like Disney has made Little Mermaid Part Two, etc. But in regards to your movies, it seems like a trend to do direct-to-video sequels.

Bluth: Well, the cynical answer is that the studios will go wherever they smell money. It's like sharks to the blood, and with Secret of NIMH... I cannot explain why they made that sequel to Secret of NIMH. Because they claim that it [the original] didn't make money, so what was the enthusiasm to make a sequel?

But with Land Before Time, of course it did make money--it made a lot of money. And so all the sequels, they just said, "Let's create a franchise here, let's create something that goes on and on and on." And each one of them have made money, because basically the children who watch it just see the little characters they love and so they're not discerning about whether it looks great or it's a great story or anything. But they will make sequels; I think right now the most horrible thing that's going on is at Disney, where they're making movies out of rides at Disneyland. <both laugh>

I mean, you've got a Bear Jamboree movie, the Country Bears movie?

I came across this description of Spike's birth scene from one of the books, which brought it very lively to my mind. I remember Petrie and Ducky running behind Spike, who keeps bumping his head in the ground finally succeeding, because Cera mentions sharptooth:

"You are a spike-tail, so I will call you Spike," Ducky said.
The rest of the group came running up. "This is my new friend Spike," said Ducky. "Can we take him with us? Huh? Huh?"
"He'll slow us down," Cera said. "All spike-tails can do is eat and burp. Sharptooth will catch up and eat us!"
"No more dumb stories," Littlefoot said sternly.
"I'm telling the truth!" Cera cried.
Over Cera's protests Spike joined the group.

What do you think of these? The latter one looks like Cera leaving the gang after they go talk to her in the cave.
