Hey guys, I haven't posted in a while but I wanted to give you all a bit of insight into episode 100 since it seems you all enjoyed it so much ^_^
This info was at a panel at MLP-MSP

1.  First off and foremost, yes Derpy's official name is now Muffins.  It's so official that even though her name is never said, Hasbro had Larson go back and rewrite every instance of her name

2.  Amy Keating Rogers was the original writer for the script, but there were scheduling conflicts and she ended up getting switched with Larson for this one.

3.  Larson didn't actually want to be the one to write this episode but he did amazing with it.  

4.  Apparently Vinyl doesn't talk on the show.  In early versions of the script, she had lines but they were removed because... she doesn't talk (we weren't given a reason for this)

5.  The episode was originally just a few brony shoutouts and then they just decided to go big with it.

6.  The info that really floored me was that HASBRO was the one pushing the episode and telling DHX to add more brony stuff (so if anyone out there is complaining about too much fan service, it's actually Hasbro's fault)

7.  Early scripts didn't center around the wedding and the Vinyl and Octavia story was about Vinyl crashing at Octavia's and wrecking her couch, and going to buy a new couch for her (riveting!)

8.  Bonbon being a secret agent is an allusion to her various voices and appearances.

9.  Many scenes were cut including (but not limited to because I don't remember them all)

• When Derpy said, "I feel just awful, doc!" the scene was going to pan out and instead of Doctor Whooves it was going to be Doc... someone else I can't remember the name   I suck... but Derpy would have said, "Oh sorry wrong table" and moved to Doctor Whooves
  
• Doctor Whooves traumatic childhood event was going to be that he could never figure out how bowling worked
  
• When Doctor Whooves was running up to Rarity's, Opal was going to be sitting on Tom and he was going to say, "Hello Opal and Tom, you're doing well" (or something to that effect)
  
• A scene where a group of background ponies walk by, then recolors of the same group walk by them and they stand there for a moment and say, "This is awkward"
  
• At one point Flash Sentry would be walking behind Cranky saying something along the lines of, "I did this for you and that for you and washed your car and you still don't like me... why doesn't anyone like me?"
  
• After Luna and Celestia began fighting it was going to pan to outside where some of Celesitia's guards and Luna's bat guards would be doing impressions of them (this was Larson's favorite scene that got removed)
  
• The original ending had a changling swarm heading for ponyvillie, but they opted to go with one changling in the audience at the wedding instead
  
• The Bugbear was just a simple bear at first, until someone suggested it be a panda as a reference to “they’re throwing pandas at us”
  “they’re throwing pandas at us”
  
• Gummy was scripted to have a French accent, dunno why they didn’t go with it.

Just watched The Conjuring.  Pretty damn freaky but I enjoyed the insight into Ed and Lorraine Warren's relationship (assuming it was somewhat realistic anyway)

tbh I didn't really like a lot of the sequels.. .I didn't like two and three but thought four was good.   I've also seen 8 and 10 and both were better than what I expected.  I mean 10 has like the most epic eclipse in cinema history.

One of the things that bothered me in the sequels was lack of continuity.  Cera's sisters and the other's siblings for that matter seemed to have disappeared.  (though they reappeared later on)  And what happened to the racism?  Were Littlefoot's mom and Cera's dad the only racist ones?  I felt like the second movie would have been better if they had kind of addressed this but later movies also imply that there is like... no racism anywhere.  

It just would have been nice if these things had been talked about at least...

but yeah it's not like the movies are HORRIBLE or anything and they do have their moments.  I'll always love the original the best but if people get enjoyment out of the sequels and we all love the same characters, I don't really see why people need to hate like that.

I kinda got distracted lately and haven't been working on my project but maybe we can put our videos together?

The music is not in a different key from the film.  You're not watching a PAL-formatted DVD by chance?  The pitch is different due to the specs of PAL...its 5% faster.

I'm not but I think either something is wrong with the rip or possibly kdenlive which is the program I'm using... I'm going to see if I can find any scenes online and compare them cause this is really bugging me.  It just.. .sounds just a hair off and I can't really figure out why that would be.

i dunno just when going from a scene from the movie to the soundtrack, it sounds... different, I can't figure out what exactly it is.  But it's okay, I can still work with everything.

I remember when I was a kid and had no idea how dinosaur species worked... I assumed Rooter had been his father, and his speech on "Not all of us arrive together in the end" was also in regards to his long lost son.  I mean hey, they were both green and had horns, right?  They MUST be related...


Of course now I know that can't be, but I do feel like at least Rooter was someone who lost someone dear to him.  

Anyways sorry that's not what this topic is about... IMO they either died or just headed off without him maybe thinking that the egg would never hatch.  As Ducky said, he was late.  At least he'll always have Ducky's family.

I'm so... amazed right now... the music in the soundtrack lines up with the original ending... I was trying to do it myself.. and I'm not sure how to explain this... but... what I did was... well you know how in the actual movie, after Littlefoot storms off, it cuts to Spike and Cera and the gang?... well what I did was I lined up the music from the soundtrack to the scene, again where Littlefoot storms off, cut out the next scene of Spike and Cera and all that, and moved the scene where Littlefoot finds the Great Valley next and just played it out... and sure enough, it matches perfectly.  Even the part where he says "The Great Valley!"


Does any of this makes sense... I was just floored when he said, "The Great Valley!" and the music was in the exact right spot.  


The only problem is the soundtrack seems to be in a different key than the movie O_o.... idk why that would be but... it sounds off when you play the movie and the soundtrack together, but I think I can work with it.  

I'm just really excited, but if anyone else has done this before I might not continue then.

Actually I got it to sound okay  

Fun fact:  Arthur is the second longest running animated series in the US, second to the Simpsons.  

Alot of people don't like the newer character Ladana.. but her brother Bud is hilarious.  Usually I hate the DW focused episodes, but DW and Bud's Higher Purpose is one of my favorite episodes because Bud kept making me laugh in it.  

Arthur is a really amazing show that I admire so much for tackling the issues they do.  They even had lesbians on the spin off Post Cards from  Buster (which was later on banned -_-)

But yeah while most kids shows keep it safe with "Don't steal" and "Be nice to others" Arthur's done an episode on cancer, how to deal with trauma of seeing a disaster (this was in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, I mean wow how many kids shows did that?) and even what it's like to have aspergers.   It's truly an underrated show and even though a lot don't like the newer animation, I'd say the writing is just as strong as it is now as it was back in earlier seasons.

In the book, Sharptooth wasn't just hungry, he also wanted to kill Cera and Littlefoot for the injury to his eye.

It took me the longest time too to realize he had a bad eye due to that scene where they hit him with the thorn bush too
